Only the surviving gladiators knew the amount of their frustration and fear. Everything happened way too fast and the only moment they thought everything was under control was followed by their absolute downfall.
The frustration came from the fact that they had a bunch of weapons and resources that turned out to be useless. The poison had been barely an inconvenience for Mares, of the elemental weapons only ice had the chance to be somewhat useful, and that still turned out to be nothing as Mares got rid of the flames himself.
And everything else only worked to feed the move that decimated them.
However, fear also came from this battle. Any other opponent of the rank Mares belonged to would have already been killed under those conditions. And yet the silver-eyed was only brushed and still managed to kill most of them.
To say a good amount of the remaining gladiators were terrified would be a euphemism.
