The people kept on cheering long after Mares was gone. It had become something like a festival, with food and drinks, all of which would just add more to Talho's total earnings today. The people were just too excited after witnessing a fight that would probably remain unique for decades to come.
And the star of the show was far from all that fanfare, had been taken to the infirmary once more. At this point, Mares was convinced this was either some sort of tradition or they were just actively messing with him since he didn't need to be brought here after every battle. They weren't even checking him up, just appointed a bed to lie on and left.
At least that gives the silver-eyed time to recover alone, or better saying, alone with Esen.
'You are an irresponsible fool, with zero self-preservation instincts! And I will stamp these types of instincts in your brain if I have to!'
Unfortunately, the white-haired wasn't in her usual mood. At least Mares could admit he deserved it.
