His fighting, or better-saying training session since a fight implies some level of equality between the two, made Mares feel his muscles burn like nothing ever did before. He somehow felt that even his bones and internal organs were burning.
Norr's weapon was weird-looking and, in his hands, allowed the instructor to attack from any angle, so Mares felt his body, instincts, and reaction speed being pushed in a way he was not used to.
Each of the instructor's attacks hit like a meteor and even trying to absorb it to redirect back was an arduous task that forced Mares to his limit and a bit further.
That had been Norr's intention with this training. Pushing Mares past his current limitations, helping him get used to this new stage, and then pushing him past that again.
This training would not be effective on anyone else since they either lacked Mares' talent or his recovering capabilities.
