Muten was the only one in the group that had ever traveled through a Gate, or at least the only one that remembered.
Mares might have when he was still under the Nightmares, but if that was the case, he was likely under various restraints that would not allow him to notice any change in those occasions.
As such only Muten was ready when space distorted itself around them.
For normal people, everything would happen too fast for them to notice but the warriors had exceptional perception and could notice and feel the distorted space around them for a full second.
It was a weird feeling, not necessarily uncomfortable but it did make some of them a bit dizzy.
