For the longest time, Mares had not fought with all he had in the Colosseum because it was necessary to keep some of his trump cards hidden.
He had done all of that for a moment exactly like this, where scaping was a reachable goal, just around the corner. So, while he wouldn't show everything at once it would be foolish to keep holding back.
Making full use of his speed, the Void Beasts were failing to attack him while he went around, just tapping some of them.
