The last time Mares met the priest, Wein, it was before his trip to the isolated part of Crixus, where he entered in contact with the Astral Energy crystals that were of much higher quality than the Void Beasts cores, he was used to.
It was before he got stronger on that trip before he spent a full month exposed to Ghastly Energy, once more refining and strengthening his body, and before his battle with Esmina, in which the exposition to sword intent strengthened him again.
And just a few hours ago his body was once again made stronger through his regeneration caused by his experiments with Astral and Ghastly Energy.
And yet, just the smell of the alcohol the priest had in his hands burned his nose and lungs like fire.
