And they go. Just like old times. The avengers, together again. The crowd goes wild. Adventure awaits! Excitement abounds! Excelsior!
We see Selina hop onto shinji glider and the two took the the sky with seren to combat the dark celestials. However in the background they didn't notice a man watching them with an amused expression "heh. Pardon me as I stifle a yawn." The man chuckled.
But we must give this ailing reality of ours the time-honored medicine it so desperately needs, mustn't we? And for some of us, that means reverting to roles we were shackled with long ago. So be it. I've made magic with far less. It didn't take even take much prodding, did it? Dangle a carrot in front of super-tools and they start falling all over themselves to get assembled. A nice big world-destroying, history-rewriting carrot, like the final host. Oh, but I know what you're thinking. Why stop the fun with just three?
In the center of the earth we see aven and Constantine fighting against the hordes of cockroach like monsters. Aven using reality manipulation attacks against his foes and Constantine zapping them with Lightning magic.
Believe me, there are plenty of more morons out there with roles to play, even if they don't yet fully realize it. And as we speak, they're already doing some assembling of their own. Deep beneath the earth. And in the skies overhead. Some of them are the usual sort of super suspects. Others, well... it's always good to have a few surprises in the mix, don't you think?
We see Jonathan smash a cockroach monsters head into the ground and green ooze splattered everywhere. Jonathan looked at his green colored fist "I didn't know I was this strong..." he muttered and looked over at Ana and miles "well this is the big surprise. I've had these powers for awhile, I'm still figuring them out, I don't understand them nearly as much as I'd like too." He explained.
They both looked wide eyed "if we weren't in a life threatening situation right now, I'd say that's awesome! But right now we should get out of here, before more of them come.." Ana spoke.
"What the damn hell...giant bugs attacking us out of nowhere. What the hell is going on in the world right now!" Miles voiced.
"Nothing good, I can assure you of that miles." Jonathan answered as they started moving again.
Ana got an alert on her phone "guys! Look! They're saying on the news that giants are falling from the sky! Just like the one we saw falling earlier." She informed.
Suddenly more of the horde appeared and it was several of them at least 20 to 30. He quickly made a circle of fire. Blocking Ana and miles keeping the horde away from them. "You two go! I'll handle these guys here and catch up with you!" He yelled over the flames and started attacking the horde.
"Okay! Be safe! And try not to die!" Miles yelled
As miles pulled Ana along she looked back as Jonathan got seemed further away then before "please be safe..." she muttered and continued running.
'I'm Jonathan Reese a kid with power far beyond my understanding. Like or not, I'm here and I've got to fight. And if I wasn't trying to keep up the facade of being brave, you'd be able to see that I'm absolutely terrified." He thought.
There are forces at work here that have been In play for a very long time. Go ask Odin, the broken old all-father of Asgard. Or the starbrand, though I suppose you can't because he's dead. Everyone's involvement should come as no surprise. The same cannot be said, however... ...for All involved parties.
We see a young man around the age of nineteen with dark-skinned young man next to a woman in a blue hoodie as they both looked at the dead celestial that laid in front of them. "What...in the crap?" Elite said as he touched the celestial.
"Dead giant. Fell from the sky. Walk away, Jen. This is way above your pay grade. And something like this really won't be good for your delicate temperament. I know all that. So why... why am I still so drawn to..." Jennifer wondered.
Elite looked up and saw various locust crawling down from the celestial. "Holy crap! Lady snap out of it! Run!" Elite yelled at Jennifer as she failed to notice. By the time she did the horde were already starting to surround her "no, GAGGHH! Get OFF! You don't Know what you're... I can't let it out! I can't..." she cried out and the horde engulfed.
Elite ran up and tried to pry the horde off and started to use his enhanced strength to kill them by smashing their heads with single punches and tossing them away. However suddenly a large green foot squashed one of the locust.
Though I suppose the avengers rainbow just wouldn't look the same... ...without the usual splash of green.
Jennifer Walters was no more in her place was the savage she-hulk "hulk! SQUISH!!!" She roared and ripped one of the locust In half. Elite and she-hulk proceeded to fight off the locust together.
(With shinji, Selina, and seren)
Shinji was flying high with his glider and Selina was standing on it with him "so what's your name? So I don't keep calling you, you." Selina asked.
"Shinji. Shinji akihiko." He responded.
"Selina. Selina Sjøholt" she introduced herself and shinji nodded. "Where's the weakness in their armor?" Selina asked shinji.
"My a.i. Just started laughing in my ear, Selina. I think that means they don't have one." Shinji answered.
"Nothing is unbeatable, everything's got a weakness." Selina countered.
Seren flew next to them "in my experience, no creature that has a face much enjoys being bludgeoned in it! Ha! Have at thee, giants!" Seren flew forward and zapped one of them with a powerful blast of energy.
"That sounds like as good a plan as any. The more I scan the armor on these things, the more I know how Clapton felt when he heard Hendrix for the first time. God, is this what it's like to be jealous? How do people live like this?" Shinji wondered.
"Be jealous later, shinji. Right now I need you focused. And spouting the kind of gobbledygook that's gonna wind up saving the world." Selina said.
"Oh, I've got plenty to spout. My scans of these guys don't even make any sense. It's almost like I'm reading thousands of different life-forms inside them. Whatever they are, they're definitely not your grandfather's celestials." Shinji stated.
Suddenly a giant hand swatted Seren out of the sky "she's hit!" Shinji yelled as he saw Seren falling.
Oh you poor fool. They're more your grandfather's than you could possibly imagine. Just not in the way we've always been told.
We see a man watching Seren fall out of the sky with a devious look on his face "you... are their legacy. The whole rowdy bloody lot of you." He said.
You are celestial madness made flesh. And at very, very long last... ...they've returned with the cure.
We see elite and she-hulk fighting the locust still and she-hulk picked one up and started slamming it into another making green ooze fly around. "RRRRGH!!! Hulk not afraid of bedbugs! Hulk from Brooklyn! Hulk not afraid of any—" suddenly a thunderous thump was heard and it was the dead celestial that was by she-hulk and elite it wasn't as dead as they believed.
Elite ripped the pinchers off of one of the locust and saw she-hulk look at the celestial. "You. Not dead. Hrgh? Yes eson...hulk hear. Hear voice in head. But hulk...not understand. What...is cure? For wha—" before she-hulk could finish her Sentence she was whisked away via teleportation.
Elite looked at the celestial, "I gotta find out what's going on...that way I can help stop it." He heard the sounds of fighting and decided to make his way towards them.
(With Jonathan)
Jonathan was currently running at fast speed "okay...this is weird, I'm also faster than I should be. Not even the fastest man in the world Usain Bolt wasn't this fast. He was pretty sure he covered 10 blocks in under 20 seconds.
"Christ...what is this world coming to? First there's giant spacemen falling from the sky and crazy super roaches trying to eat my bones, how the crap did my life become so..." as he was running Jonathan saw a bright light and came to a stop. "Woah! What...?!" He yelped in surprise.
Suddenly without warning a large hulking green womanly figure appeared in front of Jonathan "RRRGGGHH!" She growled.
"Oh yeah, sure, why not?" Jonathan chuckled weakly at how screwed his current circumstances were.
(With shinji, Selina and seren.)
Shinji was tapping his gauntlet and suddenly a platoon of heavy artillery drones opened fire on the dark celestials "full power to the laser beams! Pour it on!" He yelled to maid to make on the fly adjustments as a few of the drones were firing highly concentrated laser beams.
"Your efforts appear to be remarkably unsuccessful, shin." Maid informed.
"Not true, maid! Pretty sure I made him blink! We're nothing but gnats to these guys! We need a new approach!" Shinji yelled.
"If we can get these celestials into orbit, I can make a call and have every missile on the planet launched in minutes." Selina informed.
"No, we need to figure out a way to communicate with them. We need jean grey on the scene. Could be these things aren't as hostile as we think." Shinji explained.
"Tell that to her." Selina pointed at seren who was still falling however before she could hit the ground elongated arms caught her and placed her on the ground "you guys misplace something?" Someone with short brown hair asked.
"The enemy... verily, I am... wearing him down. Swear I felt his knuckle crack." Seren groaned.
"Who are you?" Shinji asked them.
"Names Davi. And I'm here to help, I was sent by S.H.I.E.L.D. Something about joining a team. But that's not important, I've got a little gift from S.H.I.E.L.D. Courtesy of the kind folks at alpha flight. You're right, we're nothing but gnats to them. But even gnats can be annoying. Especially gnats armed with omega-level warp grenades attuned to the coordinates of the sun." Davi said as she picked up a a briefcase of sorts and picked up some of the grenades.
(Back with Jonathan)
Jonathan was currently dodging with surprising finesse and grace "RRRRRRGGGHH!!! Hulk hate puny fire boy!" She-hulk growled as she continued to try and hit him but kept missing each time.
"Lady! Stop trying to hit me! We've got bigger fish to fry, I know you're a hulk but come on, even you can see the world is literally crumbling apart around us and you're fighting me?! You should be out there fighting those super roaches! Or the giant spacemen!" Jonathan yelled. She-hulk nearly hit him as her fist grazed his head. "Okay! That's it!!!" Jonathan snapped and blasted a large torrent of fire into she-hulks face.
"HHHRRRGGGH!!!" She-hulk bellowed.
'A hulk. Oh man, that's never good. Quick, say something cocky to hide how scared you are.' Jonathan thought. "You ready to end this now? You wanna call a truce or are you gonna keep attacking me for no reason? Because I can do this all day." Jonathan said.
She-hulk however looked incredibly intimidating when she looked at Jonathan. Her eyes appeared red and fire was in certain places of her hair. She-hulk ran at Jonathan her eyes glazed over with unbridled rage "GRRRGGGH! HULK SMASH!!!" She roared as she raised her fists over her head intent on smashing Jonathan into the ground.
Jonathan readied himself and prepared to dodge "okay it looks like you're not ready for a truce then!" He yelled. 'I hate my life!!!' Jonathan thought.
(Back with shinji, Selina, seren, and davi.)
"You're gonna teleport them into the sun?" Shinji asked.
"That's the idea. S.H.I.E.L.D. And alpha flight can't shut down their orbital warp holes, but they have been able to siphon some of the hyperspace energy for their own use. These grenades are warp triggers. When you see me start to throw them, I suggest you all move aside. Like to jersey." Davi informed.
"Do it now, kid, before they—" Seren was cut as she notice a giant hand to late.
"Look out, that one's—" before Selina could finish her warning red light started to engulf the hand "AARRRRRGGGHH!!!" Seren screamed in pain "no!!!!" Shinji yelled.
"Get her clear and I'll end this!" Davi said
"On it! Cover me, Selina!" He said as he pressed a button on his gauntlet and a small hoverboard dropped from below his glider and he hopped on he tossed the gauntlet to Selina "use it to control the weapons!" He yelled.
"Got you! I've got your back!" She nodded. "And it looks like we...have a helping hand!" She added as the group saw a celestial raise up and from the ground and took a swing at the dark celestial causing a thunderous impact.
(Back with Jonathan)
"GAAAGH!" Jonathan grunted as she-hulk struck him across the face it felt like he got hit by a freight train. "Enough! That freaking hurt lady! I'm done playing with you!" Jonathan yelled as he unleashed a massive torrent of fire towards she-hulk "and I'm not your enemy!" He added while rubbing his cheek.
She-hulk had small marks on her skin from the fire. She-hulk picked up a nearby car and threw it at Jonathan "you... not hulk! That mean you enemy!" She snapped and stomped on the ground causing the ground to upturn sending Jonathan into the air slightly. "Uugh." Jonathan grunted as he hit the ground.
Suddenly the ground started to open around the duo and green light was seen "look, I know you're not really a people person. Some days I'm not either. But right now, from the look of things hulk... ...we could both sure use a friend!" Jonathan exclaimed.
"Rrgh?" She-hulk grunted but said nothing more as several locust started to surround the duo.
They call themselves avengers. But I'm not sure they even comprehend the meaning of that word. What do they have to avenge?
We see the believed dead celestial strike the dark celestial again causing another thunderous boom to strike through the air. How the dark celestial used its large Scythe and cleaved through the celestials shoulder bringing it to its knees.
Have they been scorned and rejected their entire life, even by those they call family? Have they been hunted and hounded to the ends of the earth and beyond? No. That's just me.
"Kid! The grenades! To hell with me! Throw them now!" Seren commanded.
"No, we're gonna get you clear before—" as Davi was speaking suddenly purple electricity started to electrocute Davi, Selina, and shinji. Davi and Selina were able to tolerate it a bit better but shinji was not having a good time "AAAAGGHH!!!" Shinji screamed in pain.
I'm the only one who ever does any actual avenging around here. There wouldn't even be an avengers if it weren't for me. You might even go so far as to say... ...that LOKI is the greatest avenger who ever lived.
The trio look and see Loki with his scepter smirking at them as the dark celestial stood behind Loki held a now dead celestial head presenting it to Loki "I see you've all met my new friends, the final host. Don't mind me, I'm just here to lend a helping hand as they avenge the greatest wrong of all time... ...and correct the grievous mistake they made one million years ago. I suppose you might call it... ...salvation through global extinction. And it begins NOW." Loki informed.
