Chapter 113 - Plummeting

The drop from where Leon was standing had been close to over three hundred feet. When he first started falling, he tried his best to break his fall as the height he originally fell from was over three hundred feet tall.

Leon wrapped his entire body around Aurora and leaned towards the cliffside. Instantly, he fell onto branches and trees that decreased his speed of falling, but in exchange, he sustained numerous cuts and even felt a branch penetrating into his calf.

The entire time that Leon continued to stumble and sustain injuries he could hear a muffled Aurora scream inside his chest, but he continued to protect the little girl as he fell. Facing downwards with only a few seconds to make a decision, Leon had to find a way to stay alive even though his entire body felt like hell.

There was nowhere to land on the ground but noticing a giant crack in the earth. Leon thought he saw a reflection of water through. With either definitely dying by becoming human paste on a rock and taking a chance by falling through the crack that led to god knows where underneath the ground. Leon chose the crack.

With heavy rain pouring everywhere, it was hard to see Leon, but the rain and storm brought him a feeling of familiarity. He couldn't realize it at the moment, since he was currently plummeting to his potential death but the soft voice of the system rang.

At the current moment, Leon had mere seconds to somehow reposition himself towards the crack. Without a single intention, he could only scream in his mind.

'I have to move. I have to move.'

A gust of wind suddenly pushed Leon, but instead of throwing him of course it actually aided him in aiming for the crack. However, he couldn't too much of it as he continued to plummet through the crack and he realized that the crack in the earth seemed to drop him into a deep ravine or cave system.

With one arm, Leon focused as much mana as he could into his arm and stabbed Ensis into the wall. Normally a person's arm would be completely broken or even torn off from attempting to do this, but luckily Leon's tough body and mana reinforced arm could barely withstand the force.

However, he wouldn't be getting away with it completely unscathed as he felt his shoulder muscle tear. With his face scrunching together in pain, Leon could only scream, but he had successfully achieved his goal of cutting his momentum down.

With only a few more meters until he hit the water, Leon had no options as it was either break his shoulder completely if he continued so he took Ensis back and could only brace for the impact with the water.

"BRACE!"

With a loud splash, the moment he hit the water. Leon's world went black

-Somewhere on Mount Olympus-

A young beautiful goddess with Auburn hair stood among the many gods that made up Olympus. On intricately carved thrones, twelve gods were present, but only eleven sat down on their thrones. They were the twelve gods that stood proudly on Mount Olympus, ranging from Poseidon to Ares."

On the largest throne of them all, an older man with a beard sat high and mighty looking down at everything like it was lesser than him. Lightning coursed around him and he spoke first in a deep voice like a mountain that boomed across the room.

"Report Artemis and Apollo."

Before her brother could say something stupid, Artemis spoke first.

"Father and other Olympians. As you know, Apollo and I secretly ventured to the mortal realm in an attempt to investigate the prison of he who shall not be named."

Knowing that it would cause a reaction, Artemis paused before she broke the news.

"Unfortunately due to some negligence and bad luck, it seems like he was freed."

The moment her words came out. All the other gods reacted in different ways. Some could only gasp and start sweating out of fear. Some had been so affected that they looked stoic. Some cursed. Finally, some had gotten so enraged that they crushed the armrest of their thrones. It seemed casual to them, but their thrones were made from a material so hard that it would be difficult for some of the lesser gods to even break.

Zeus looked like he was grinding his teeth and his eyes turned white with lightning as he could barely get his sentence out due to anger.

"What. Do. You. Mean. By. Negligence!?!"

Although Artemis knew nothing was her fault, she still remained as respectful as possible in fear of catching the end of Zeu's current unbridled anger.

"It is only a speculation, but it seems that Hades had pawned off his duty of upkeep and delegated to Aergi-"

Before she could finish, Zeus slammed his fist onto his throne and the entire thing cracked in half and a pulse of lightning discharged with enough force to crack the wall. Luckily, the cracks on the wall and throne magically repaired themselves, but Zeus still looked mad.

"How can it be that a person who is my brother could be so stupid? Does he not realize what he had done? This Hades think he won't be punished or noticed just because he lives in that shit hole of a place?"

Artemis looked a little nervous, but she spoke.

"It seems there is more…"

Zeus still had a fiery anger welling inside of him but controlled it enough so that he could gesture for Artemis to speak. Getting approval, Artemis continued.

"It seems that the seal was broken by someone from the mortal realm on purpose."

This caused gasps and murmurs, but Zeus glared at everybody and gestured for Artemis to continue. Artemis went on.

"Being let go, he, who shall not be named, is currently hiding somewhere, but we could not locate him. However, we can most likely conclude the seal is still somewhat effective and that his full powers have not returned."

Artemis started to feel more confident and stood up.

"It is most likely he is receiving help from gods or members of the cult. Also, we have just found that a drop of his blood has been used to cause a minor calamity somewhere in the lower realm."

The Olympians all had different expressions but stayed silent as they were afraid of Zeus's reaction. After a few seconds, Zeus pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed.

"We must call a council. One for taking out that scum. Plus it is time we take to stand up to the cult, however, we can't do it ourselves and our current forces in the lower realm are too weak and scattered."

Zeus stood up and left, after he left the room the rest of the Olympians all left silently as they processed everything they had learned.
