Chapter 60 - Hobgoblins (2)

With half the defending goblins dying so easily, the other half were simply no match and were easily overrun as the two hobgoblins swung with their tree branches. Seeing their protection die so easily, the female goblins really only had two options left.

One was to simply accept the defeat and become a tool and pet to the hobgoblin until they eventually died from the hobgoblin or too simply end their lives.

All of the female goblins had some form of weaponry on them and decided to simply choose the latter, they each used the blades to end their lives and their bodies clunked to the ground.

The hobgoblins must be quite young and inexperienced as they didn't think this would happen and both merely scratched their heads with their hands.

With the tiny goblin tribe completely wiped out, it was now time for the group of four to spring into action. The group was all friendly with each other, however, they hadn't been together very long so Leon had to signal with his hands for Arwin to start the engagement with his arrows and pointed to his eye to tell him to aim for the hobgoblins eye.

With that the rest of the group slowly inched their way from Arwin to give him space to work with, Arwin on the other hand closed his eyes and for a couple of seconds, he sat still.

The rest of the group felt like the seconds had been years, then suddenly Arwin's eyes opened and he grabbed his bow and strung an arrow.

Like his body was a whip, Arwin stretched the bow to its hardest with the string almost brushing against his chest, until he let go as the arrow shot out of the arrow-like a bullet.

The arrow picked up speed like it had rocket boosters on the tail end and it had a sheen of green which was the magic that Arwin had imbued within the arrow, however, the magic was not that potent as Arwin had shot the arrow fairly quick giving him not enough time to imbue a large amount of his magic power within.

The hobgoblins were powerful creatures, but were also arrogant so never in a thousand years did they think someone would attack them as they finished a battle.

The arrow didn't go straight into the hobgoblin's eye however half the tip managed to catch the eyelid and slipped barely into the upper part of the eye.

With a howl of pain, the hobgoblin grabbed his eye with the hand he wasn't using to carry a tree trunk. Due to being blinded on one side, it dropped to its knees as the other hobgoblin almost jumped up due to the startling situation its comrade found itself in.

However, this quickly subsided and the hobgoblin with both eyes intact faced the general direction the arrow had to come from and gave a roar so loud that the trees in the surrounding area had their leaves shake as if a storm with fast winds suddenly appeared from thin air.

As if to answer back, Leon and Tecia stood up and started sprinting towards the hobgoblin, both yelled as they ran forward.

"AAAAAA!!"

Tecia seemed to be especially enthusiastic as she ran forward, meanwhile, Arwin was preparing to fire a bunch of arrows in a succession of his first hit and whispered as he aligned his bow.

"You were once a simple hobgoblin until you took an arrow to the eye, now give me your other eye."

As Tomoe set off after Leon and Tecia, Arwin unleashed his barrage of arrows. This time the arrows were loaded with an ample amount of his raw magic power that had carried a tint of green as if nature itself had her hands on the arrows slowly guiding them towards their target.

The arrows once again were aimed at the closer hobgoblin who moved from its knees as it could barely see the barrage with its one remaining eye.

With that the arrows missed their mark as they landed on the giant stomach of the hobgoblin, however, even though it didn't hit their mark the arrows carried ample force, and as four had hit the same area.

The kinetic energy was so great that the block of fat on the hobgoblins stomach rippled like jello.

The hobgoblin groaned as his insides would have definitely taken a bruising from that hit. By now, Tomoe had managed to barely catch up to Leon who slowed down so they would enter the optimal formation of a triangle with Tecia being at the front and Tomoe and Leon bringing up the base of the triangle.

However Tecia was too excited as she just ran forward at full speed with no thoughts but to swing her gauntlets, this would be unfortunate as the hobgoblin who had not sustained any injuries suddenly ran forward and swung his tree trunk in an arc that skimmed across the floor and uplifted a bunch of grass and dirt before it hit Tecia.

With all of her momentum, Tecia could not dodge effectively and ended up flying to a nearby tree which caught her with its tough trunk.

Leon shouted while holding Ensis with one hand.

"Tecia! Get your head out of the clouds and into the fight, now is not the time to be stupid. Life doesn't allow leeway for that!"

Tecia got up with a groan as she clutched her lower back which was the part off her body that had collided with the tree.

"Fine, fine."

With that Tecia got up and made her way to Leon and tomoe, the hobgoblin tried to take another swing, but a barrage of arrows forced him to use the tree trunk to block.

Leon on the other hand looked at Tecia and the hobgoblins, before chuckling in his thoughts.

'Cmon, Tecia at least try to restrain yourself. Besides, you aren't even the most excited person.'

While looking at the potential adventure, Leon's eyes glinted with something that could only be described as somewhat resembling lust, although he would never admit it either it seemed like Leon was so enthralled in the notion of adventure that he even drooled a little bit as he breathed heavily.
