Chapter 10 - CHAPTER 10

I stood overlooking the window, gazing the scenario. Noha's room was descent but comfortable, nothing like I expected it to be.

A king sized bed was seated right in the middle of the room, walls covered with dark blue wallpapers, a dresser near the closet and a study near the shelves.

I walk towards the shelves, pulling out a book to read.

I couldn't sleep, first for what happened today and second, it wasn't my room.

I couldn't go home, or rather I couldn't face dad after what happened today.

'CITY OF BONES' said the book cover, it was a pink book cover with a pair of wings doodled on it.

The author was Cassandra Clare, one of my favourites.

"You've got to be kidding me," the bouncer said, folding his arms across his massive chest. He stared down at the boy in the red zip-up jacket and shook his shaved head. "You can't bring that thing in here."

I started with the first chapter... But I couldn't really focus. All I could think was about Noha.

Was it really his mistake? I asked myself.

Atleast a part of it. Answered my subconscious mind. I was completely lost.

"They say, that if one door is closed another opens..."

But I am stuck in a box, a box with no open, no loopholes, not even a slightest pit to breath.

"You know, you've been stuck on the very first page, for over 10 mins now!!!"

I jerk back to the reality, finding Noha leaning against the door, hands folded and a quite smile on his face.

"Yeah... don't worry, I'm not spying on you, just here to grab some things, don't mind me!"

He walked to the closet, grabbing a pair of clothes, he packed his brush and all in a small duffle bad, then atlast he walked towards the night stand and plugged his phone charger out.

"Noha?" I whispered, not even sure if he heard me.

"Yeah?" He did heard me.

"Can you stay with me for a little while, please?" I asked. As a matter of fact, I don't even know why I asked him to stay, maybe because I was afraid to be alone, or maybe...maybe, I really craved to be with him.

"Sure, if you want we can wander the lawns, for fresh air!"

I gave him a small smile and nodded.

He lead the way to the lawns, he talked about.

It was perfect, there was a beautiful vintage looking fountain in the middle of the lawn, every spot, my eye could reach, it was all green, a few bushes with blooming flowers surrounded the lawns.

"Are you still angry with me?" He asked, as we strolled around.

"I don't really know... Ha... I know I sound like a total creep, but I really can't think about anything." I whispered.

"Creep, seriously? You might be the most sane women, I've ever met!!!"

"Sane but broken, do you mean?" I chuckled, my tears at the edge of my eyes.

He stopped suddenly, turned towards me, he came a little closer and cupped my face. He then gently, wiped my tears off with his thumb.

"You are not broken, Scarlett Adian Wade. Believe me, you are the most sorted, sane, brave, confident, loveable and beautiful women I have ever seen. I can't even live a hour, filled with the grief you have been through, believe me no one can. You just need to believe in yourself and I know you can easily do that, right?"

I finally let my tears down, I hold on to him as if I'll never let him go. I cried my eyes out, deep in his chest.

Something soft, touched my feet suddenly. I froze right in Noha's arms.

He tried stopping his laugh, but he couldn't.

I was totally confused, as I looked at him.

"Chillax, it's just cookie!!!" He exclaimed.

I slowly turned my head downward.

There it was, maybe the most cutest thing on earth.

A small, fluffy puppy, nugged it's neck on my leg.

"Aww...he is so cute." I said, separating myself from Noha (with great difficulties), and pulled the cutie in my arms.

"It's a she, by the way." He chuckled as he patted the puppy resting in my arms.

I rocked the puppy, slowly as she stared at me with her deep black eyes.

"Cookie, this is my friend Scar and Scar this is, Cookie." He introduced us with a goofy smile.

"Hi, Cookie! I am here to steal you away from this arrogant man." I said in a baby voice.

Bark Bark

She looked so happy, and cute.

"See, she says yes!!!" I pointed at Noha, who now was pouting.

"Hey, I just complimented you and you are gonna steal my baby away from me!?!?"

He then stared at the cute creature.

"And you... You betrayed me!!!"

Bark Bark

The puppy smiled again.

We both laughed, at her reaction and continued our walk.

"Noha?" I whispered.

"Yeah?" He answered, still playing with Cookie.

"Was it true?"

He looked at me, confused.

"Was what true?"

I met his eye.

"About what that girl said, about why my dad left my mom?"

Tears flowed down, falling from my eyes.
