As the poison began to spread, Adam made a rash choice.
"Compress!" [Adam]
Placing his hand on the poisoned area, Adam used his ability to pull all affected areas together and ripped it off.
"Argh!" [Adam]
It hurt far more than Adam had expected. Tearing out a chunk of his flesh was not something he had ever thought to do.
"...You're insane." [Ikyuu]
Never had Ikyuu seen or met such a being without such regard for oneself. If left untreated, even Adam would fall from the blood loss.
"Fuya de medicis, heal." [Adam]
The missing chunk of flesh began to regrow, building pieces of itself until it filled in the empty space.
"That's… disgusting." [Krino]
Gross and painful as that method may be, there was no longer any poison in Adam's system. Although, his hands still trembled from just recalling the pain.
("I don't ever want to do that again.") [Adam]
Adam rubbed his chest as if to make sure if he really was still intact.
"I should stop playing around." [Adam]
Gripping Krino, Adam summoned lightning to veil his body. Piece by piece, corporeal armor began to place itself on him.
"No… That's…!" [Ikyuu]
Ikyuu vanished, reappearing before Adam with a hand outstretched. Whatever he was trying to do, it was too late.
"Soul Aggression." [Adam]
Suddenly, all Ikyuu could see was blue. It was like an entire field of lightning consumed Adam, leaving no openings to see or hear through. Ikyuu was so surprised that he almost didn't notice a burning sensation on his arm as lightning attempted to cook it.
"Ack!" [Ikyuu]
Reacting quickly, he retracted his arm and retreated.
("My arm…!") [Ikyuu]
One look was enough to tell him it was in a sorry state. The skin on his arm was no longer red, but mostly black from the charring.
"What's wrong? You should try that again." [Adam]
Adam stepped out of the lightning infested zone armored to the teeth. White plating covered every inch of his body, accompanied by a matching white blade. The guard of the sword no longer had the head of an eagle, but that of a lion. To finish it off, a cape that had the insignia depicting a griffin grew out the back.
"I know the goal was to hold here for five minutes, but you made things personal." [Adam]
Within an instant, Adam slammed a fist into Ikyuu's face.
"Ugh!" [Ikyuu]
He could feel the tingle of lightning, along with the smell of burnt flesh.
"Stay away!" [Ikyuu]
Ikyuu enhanced his shout with mana, allowing it to spew a burning light at Adam. However, it was interrupted as Adam backhanded him.
"Agh!" [Ikyuu]
He spun and recoiled away as Adam approached him.
"Man, this armor is pretty sturdy. I don't even have to dodge anymore." [Adam]
"You…!" [Ikyuu]
Ikyuu grit his teeth as frustration within him grew.
("If only he didn't have that Ethereal Blade!") [Ikyuu]
"Well, it's been fun." [Adam]
He then murmured something under his breath.
"Not really though…" [Adam]
Intending to end things quickly, Adam traced a hand over Krino.
"Fastra Akrie, enchanted lightning." [Adam]
A thin line of energy made itself known on the edge of Adam's blade.
("What is that?!") [Ikyuu]
Seeing that, Ikyuu began to vanish as an escape. Unfortunately for him, Adam moved like a bolt of lightning. In fact, he did become lightning for a moment. It was so quick that Ikyuu found Adam's sword piercing his chest before he could fully disappear.
"Just so you know, I still don't know how you keep disappearing like that." [Adam]
He pulled out his sword, allowing Ikyuu to collapse. Purple blood spewed from his chest, leaving Ikyuu afflicted with labored breathing.
"So much for Roht's blessing." [Krino]
Adam flicked his sword, throwing off the blood neatly.
"You could have just used the lightning to burn it off." [Krino]
("I don't like the smell.") [Adam]
He then let out a sigh, causing his white plated armor to vanish alongside with Krino's Soul Aggression form. Adam then checked his surroundings to see if he had to deal with any other voidlings, but he needn't worry. Most of them were killed as collateral between the fight between him and the dungeon guardian. Though there were some that caught his eye, they weren't brave enough to come forward.
("How much time has passed?") [Adam]
Checking his watch, only four minutes have passed. Soon, the intended time to leave would come.
("That should wrap things up.") [Adam]
As that thought crossed his mind, an explosion occurred within the skyscraper.
"Huh?!" [Adam]
He could see flames coming out of the building and several figures falling out. Judging by their shapes, they were most likely voidlings.
"Adam!" [Sora]
Adam turned back to see Sora and Brandon coming.
"We have to go!" [Brandon]
"What? It hasn't been five minutes yet!" [Adam]
"No! Not that!" [Sora]
Before he could explain, a familiar buzz echoed in Adam's ear.
"-ello?! Hello?! Can you read me?!" [Bob]
The familiar voice of their guide returned.
"I can read you." [Adam]
"Adam! Now's the time!" [Bob]
"...To leave?" [Adam]
"No! Go support the team inside the building! They're facing off two dungeon masters! This isn't within-!" [Bob]
Static interrupted him, leaving only silence.
"...Did you guys hear him too?" [Adam]
Brandon and Sora nodded.
"Yep. Overtime." [Brandon]
