Chapter 203 - Astos

The voice echoed in laughter.

"So you remember. I, the mighty Astos, return!" [???]

"Urgh!" [Adam]

It felt like Adam's head was splitting apart. His consciousness was being pulled away, and he struggled to remain standing.

"Did you forget?! That fateful day?!" [Astos]

Adam's head pounded. Pain shot from every inch of his body as he tried to fight back with all of his might.

"Hand over your body! Lest you want me to kill your sister like I did your parents!" [Astos]

"No!" [Adam]

The memory of voidlings standing over Adam's parents was rewritten. He then truly remembered what happened.

"Adam! Fight back!" [Krino]

"Silence! I will not remain a prisoner to this child!" [Astos]

Adam's pupils flashed purple for a moment.

"Your struggle is futile…!" [Astos]

Adam swayed back and forth, confusing the guardian who spectated in confusion.

"Demonic energy…? Is he gaining a new power?!" [Left Horned Guardian]

Fearful of the thought, the guardian struck Adam's neck with his blade. However, his attack stopped as the sound of clashing metal resounded.

"I-Impossible!" [Left Horned Guardian]

Adam locked eyes with the guardian as the blade grinded against his neck. His eyes shone a dark purple as the weapon remained unmoving.

"You dare?!" [Adam?]

An invisible force blew the guardian back.

"Agh!" [Left Horned Guardian]

The air was knocked out of his lungs, leaving the guardian gasping upon landing.

"This… strength?!" [Left Horned Guardian]

He looked at Adam with bewilderment.

"Who… Who are you?!" [Left Horned Guardian]

"Who am I? I did not order you to speak!" [Adam?]

An invisible force threw the guardian into the sand, practically flattening him.

"Urgh…!" [Left Horned Guardian]

Adam then casually approached the guardian and set a foot upon his head.

"Hear me, ignorant mortal. Let it be known that I, Astos, have returned!" [Adam?]

("Astos?!") [Left Horned Guardian]

"...The god of chaos?!" [Left Horned Guardian]

Adam's expression shifted into anger.

"You dare utter my title in vain?!" [Adam?]

Adding a great amount of pressure onto his foot, Adam crushed the guardian's head like a watermelon.

"Hmph." [Adam?]

The skies suddenly began to rumble as an all-encompassing voice boomed.

"Meager mortal… You dare to slay my servant?!" [???]

A large finger parted the clouds and aimed towards Adam. It then began to accelerate, but was frozen the moment Adam's eyes shone brightly.

"...This power?!" [???]

Adam stood there with an unhappy expression.

"You've grown brave, Roht." [Adam?]

The finger trembled in fear and retracted.

"...Astos? Why does the god of chaos reside within the body of a mortal child?" [Roht]

"The other gods trapped my soul in here. Too bad for them, I managed to take over this body. I won't let them have their way with this pawn." [Adam?]

"Ah… The game… Astos, what will you do now?" [Roht]

Adam glanced around.

"First, I suppose I'll take control of this world. I was stopped last time, but I won't be sealed again." [Astos]

"Then I shall take my leave first." [Roht]

The voice vanished, leaving Adam by himself.

("First, to dispel this illusionary realm.") [Astos]

Raising a hand, Adam stumbled as an unknown force started pulling away at his consciousness.

"Huh?" [Adam?]

"I will not allow you to have your way with the kind one's body." [???]

"Another soul?! How many people reside within this body?!" [Astos]

Adam's body swayed back and forth once again.

"Return ownership to my successor." [???]

"Ownership?! This body is destined to be mine!" [Astos]

"Destiny can be broken." [???]

Adam then fell to his knees as he clutched his head.

"Are you another god?! How can you hold so much power!" [Astos]

"No. I, Askyros, am simply a mortal. A humble carpenter." [Askyros]

"Impossible! A mere mortal defying a god?!" [Astos]

"You are not the first god I have faced." [Askyros]

Adam writhed upon the black sand, his eyes red with rage and pain.

"Yield this body to me!" [Astos]

"I refuse. For my successor, I possess an unyielding will." [Askyros]
