Staring at Krino, tears started streaming down Adam's face.
"Huh? Am I… crying?" [Adam]
Touching his face, he looked at his hand.
"Woah! A-Adam? Are you alright?" [Arthur]
Adam ignored him.
("...Krino? Is that really you?") [Adam]
"Adam? Yeah, what's wrong?" [Krino]
Hearing Krino's voice comforted Adam. He felt an immense sense of relief, causing him to fall to his knees.
("Thank god…!") [Adam]
"Wait, what? Why are you crying?!" [Krino]
As Adam sat there with tears running down his face, Arthur paced back and forth unsure of what to do.
"Arthur… you mind giving me a minute…?" [Adam]
"Y-yeah… Sure. Whatever you need buddy." [Arthur]
Still confused, Arthur quickly left the area and went for a walk.
"Uh… Who was that?" [Krino]
Adam was unresponsive. All there was was him crying silently while clutching his most trusted weapon, Krino.
("Do you know how long it's been…?") [Adam]
Krino was puzzled. It was then that all the memories Adam has had from being in the prison flooded into him.
"...Wow. Did dying hurt?" [Krino]
Adam nodded.
"How many times was it? I didn't keep count." [Krino]
Adam shook his head. Not even he knew how many times Typhon had killed him.
"...You did well." [Krino]
Those words made more tears flow, as if all the accumulated pain, stress, and sorrow had come out. Minutes later, Adam finally calmed himself.
"Did you get it all out?" [Krino]
("...Yeah.") [Adam]
"Are you sure? Do you need more time or…" [Krino]
("Bro, I'm fine.") [Adam]
"...Really now? 'Cause I can wait-" [Krino]
("Bro! I said I'm good!") [Adam]
There was sudden silence. After a few seconds passed, the two laughed it off.
"There's the Adam I know." [Krino]
("Damn it, man. Can't you take anything seriously for once?") [Adam]
"That's the trick. Nothing seems that bad as long as it's funny." [Krino]
That was when Arthur returned.
"...Do you need more time? I heard you laughing by yourself." [Arthur]
He had a look of concern, but Adam found it hilarious.
"No. Don't mind me. You want to teach me that healing spell real quick?" [Adam]
("He's quite unstable… I should probably say yes. Wait, can I use the healing spell on his head?") [Arthur]
"Sure." [Arthur]
Raising a hand, a bright green magic circle appeared.
"By the way, there isn't anything "quick" about learning-" [Arthur]
"Done." [Adam]
"...Wut?" [Arthur]
His eyes widened in shock.
"How? What? When? Why?" [Arthur]
"Alright, ready to go?" [Adam]
Picking up his sword, Adam headed for the stairway.
"Hold on! I need an explanation!" [Arthur]
"Maybe later." [Adam]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
As they ascended the staircase, Adam and Krino came up with a plan.
("So, how are we gonna kill this guy?") [Adam]
"Maybe you could copy him?" [Krino]
("How so?") [Adam]
"Maybe you could learn Soul Aggression." [Krino]
Hearing that world brought back the memory of Typhon and his flaming serpents.
("You're telling me I can get something like that?") [Adam]
"His soul weapon's attribute was fire, so it turned out like that. Since I'm lightning, you can expect something different." [Krino]
("...That's awesome. Now how do I learn it?") [Adam]
"No clue." [Krino]
("Bruh.") [Adam]
Stuck in thought, he snapped back to reality once Arthur stopped him.
"Heads up." [Krino]
There was Typhon, standing atop the stairs as per usual.
("We still haven't decided on a game plan yet.") [Adam]
"Just fight as usual." [Krino]
("My abilities are sealed, remember?") [Adam]
"Try again." [Krino]
Sighing, Adam compressed a small pocket of air within his palm.
("Eh?") [Adam]
"I thought so." [Krino]
("Explain.") [Adam]
"You injured your core when that steel beam fell on you. Luckily, Arthur put it back together." [Krino]
("Oh. Then how did I summon you?") [Adam]
"Your guess is as good as mine." [Krino]
He became stuck in thought. Whilst thinking, Adam was shaken out of his thoughts.
"Adam! Snap out of it! He's coming!" [Arthur]
"What?!" [Adam]
Quickly grasping the situation, he saw Typhon charging with his double sided spear.
("He took it out already?!") [Adam]
"Ready yourself!" [Krino]
Gripping his sword, Adam felt surprisingly comfortable.
"Adam, I'll draw his attention. Try to get behind him." [Arthur]
"Nah, I'll go first." [Adam]
"Wait, Adam-!" [Arthur]
Ignoring Arthur's words, Adam rushed forward.
"The companion?" [Typhon]
"Let's go! Krino!" [Adam]
Lightning shot up his arms, giving him an exhilarating feeling of pure adrenaline and strength.
"An ethereal blade?!" [Typhon]
Adam swung downwards at an incredible speed, forcing Typhon to block.
"Hm?!" [Typhon]
Typhon's eyes widened as he realized the blade exerted far more force than expected.
"Arthur, your companion is quite-" [Typhon]
Cutting him off, Adam put an open hand before him.
"Pressure Cannon." [Adam]
A blast of compressed air sent Typhon flying backwards. Due to the small amount of space within the stairway, Typhon found himself crashing into the stairs.
"Agh!" [Typhon]
His face twisted in pain and shock. It was unexpected he would be the first one to be pushed back.
"Adam…?" [Arthur]
There stood Adam, looking at his hand. He clenched his fist and opened it, as if to check if it worked.
"I'm back, baby!" [Adam]
