After leaving Romain's club, Adam and Mark continued on with their duties. Visiting nearby clubs over and over, they had passed through over fifty clubs.
("How many more…") [Adam]
As the two walked around the campus, Mark took notice of Adam's exhausted look.
"Hey, Adam." [Mark]
"Y-yeah?" [Adam]
"Can you pass me all the pamphlets?" [Mark]
Adam found it weird that they had suddenly stopped in the middle of their duties, but he wasn't going to question it.
"Sure. What do you need it for?" [Adam]
"Nothing much. I'll just pass them out to the rest of the clubs on my own." [Mark]
"On your own?" [Adam]
"Mhm. You can go home now. I'm sure you didn't expect to be turned into our assistant today, so I think it's right to give you a bit of leeway." [Mark]
His words brought a tear to Adam's eyes. It was the first time he felt that a senior actually was nice to him.
"...You're a great guy." [Adam]
"It's nothing much. I'm just copying what my senior did for me." [Mark]
"Your senior?" [Adam]
The mention of his senior caused Mark to scratch the back of his head.
"He… was a bit weird, but he was a nice guy." [Mark]
"Uh-huh…" [Adam]
"When I first entered this school, I got a bit lost. Then some guy came up to me and showed me around." [Mark]
"And he was your senior?" [Adam]
"Yep. I stuck to him like glue after that. I was taught the ins and outs of everything. He even taught me how to fight. Imagine that." [Mark]
Adam wasn't so sure about the "Senior" Mark spoke about, but he at least thought of him as a nice guy.
"Anyway, that's enough reminiscing. Go on ahead, I've got about a hundred to two hundred clubs left to go to." [Mark]
"...S-sure…" [Adam]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Excused of his duties, Adam retrieved his belongings and began to walk home.
("That was so tiring…") [Adam]
"Really now? I thought you were more physically fit." [Krino]
("I meant mentally.") [Adam]
As he strolled through the streets, he saw multiple unfamiliar students running around in a frenzy.
("What are those guys doing?") [Adam]
"Judging by their clothing, they're not from your school." [Krino]
The students wore uniforms similar to Adam's, but the coloration was a mix of black and blue.
"Where is he?!" [Panicked Student]
"Check the alleys!" [Exhausted Student]
They yelled across the streets, loud enough for those around to hear. It was such a large fuss that people began to stick to the buildings to let the students through.
("...Guess it's not my problem.") [Adam]
Unlike everyone else, Adam continued to walk down the street.
"Ack!" [Frantic Student]
"Hm?" [Adam]
One of the students accidentally bumped into Adam, causing them to fall backwards.
"Tsk! The fuck is your problem?!" [Frantic Student]
The student picked himself back up and confronted Adam with a raised fist.
"What do you mean? I was just walking." [Adam]
"Just walking?!" [Frantic Student]
The student grabbed Adam by the collar, bringing his face closer in an attempt to intimidate.
"You must've bumped into me on purpose! Apologize to me!" [Frantic Student]
("...Is this guy nuts?") [Adam]
"Just get rid of him. You can feel it don't you? He's weak." [Krino]
Krino was right. The student's grip on his collar wasn't that strong, clearly indicating a difference in strength.
"... Alright. It was my fault. Can I go now?" [Adam]
He raised his hands as if to surrender, but the student wouldn't let go.
"You think this is funny?! Is that it?!" [Frantic Student]
Adam sighed at the sight of the student, aggravating the student even more.
"You fucking- You think this is a game?!" [Frantic Student]
The student raised a fist, preparing to strike.
"Nobody makes fun of me!" [Frantic Student]
"..." [Adam]
As the student swung his fist, Adam locked eyes with him.
"Go ahead." [Adam]
As those words exited his lips, the student froze in his tracks.
"Wh… what?" [Frantic Student]
He felt an unnerving sense of pressure. Adam's words and actions made him think twice, causing him to release his grip.
"...Tsk! I'll let you go this time." [Frantic Student]
Clicking his tongue, the student ran off to somewhere else.
"Phew…" [Adam]
"I'm surprised." [Krino]
("At what?") [Adam]
"I was sure you were going to punch him." [Krino]
("I was.") [Adam]
"Then why didn't you?" [Krino]
("Ever heard of the saying, "Ladies first"?") [Adam]
After hearing Adam's answer, Krino's reply had a strange pause.
"...You would make a good bully." [Krino]
("I'll take that as a compliment.") [Adam]
