Through blood sweat and tears, the class worked through the physical test. Their bodies were covered in sweat and their breaths came out ragged. It was not until all the exercises were completed that they were able to feel relief.
"...And that about sums it up! You all did well on the test." [Mr. Frank]
"Haah… Haah… Finally…" [Orion]
As usual, Mr. Frank took an object out of his white coat. Unlike the usual strange inventions he brings out, it was a simple tablet.
"I'll calculate your grades in a minute, you can all rest now." [Mr. Frank]
Given permission to rest, the students sighed and sat down.
"I'm surprised he's grading it right now." [Felix]
"Honestly, I would prefer not to know my grade." [Orion]
"Why?" [Alex]
"What do you mean why? I fell behind on the curl ups. It's clear that I'm getting at least a D." [Orion]
The students spoke among themselves, and in due time, Mr. Frank had finished grading their performance.
"Okay, let's see. Orion, your grade was a B-." [Mr. Frank]
"A B-?! Let's gooo!!" [Orion]
"Felix, you got an A." [Mr. Frank]
"Only an A? Why wasn't it an A+?" [Felix]
"Your mile time was pretty fast, but your trunk lift was lacking." [Mr. Frank]
"...I thought 9 inches was average…" [Felix]
"Next, Jessica. You got a B." [Mr. Frank]
"Not bad." [Jessica]
"Katherine, you also got a B." [Mr. Frank]
"...Whatever." [Katherine]
"Tiffany, you got a B-." [Mr. Frank]
Upon hearing her score, Tiffany didn't seem very surprised. In fact, she seemed proud of herself.
"Brandon, you got a C+." [Mr. Frank]
"Hah! He sucks!" [Orion]
"Shut up." [Brandon]
"Alex, you got an A-." [Mr. Frank]
"An A-?! No way… My parents are going to kill me…" [Alex]
"Not my problem." [Mr. Frank]
"You're complaining about an A-?! I got a C!" [Brandon]
"And that's all you amount to." [Alex]
Brandon opened his mouth like he wanted to say something, but he ended up not speaking.
"Enough. Adam, you got an A." [Mr. Frank]
"Nice!" [Adam]
"Ay, same grade." [Felix]
He raised a hand up to Adam, and the two did a quick high five.
"Lastly, Sora. You got an A+. Well done." [Mr. Frank]
"...What?" [Orion]
"Seems about right." [Felix]
"Sora? Mind explaining?" [Alex]
"I… What am I supposed to be explaining?" [Sora]
"How did you get an A+?" [Orion]
"Hey! No bullying." [Mr. Frank]
He pointed his tablet specifically at Orion, who's expression was full of confusion.
"Why are you pointing at me?!" [Orion]
"Because I felt like it." [Mr. Frank]
"...What kind of reaso-" [Orion]
"To answer your previous question, Sora got an A+ because he performed well in all exercises." [Mr. Frank]
"I mean… He lives in a dojo." [Felix]
Other than Felix, the rest of the class looked at Sora strangely.
"You do?!" [Class]
"That's… The dojo I live in is my house." [Sora]
"Actually, Felix. How did YOU know where Sora lived?!" [Orion]
"Didn't you know? His house is a popular dojo for learning the Fluttering Fist." [Felix]
("Fluttering Fist?") [Adam]
"That sounds interesting." [Krino]
"I'm pretty sure there was a certificate given to Sora's household by the government that it's certified as one of the five protective households of the country." [Felix]
"What?!" [Alex]
"Holy crap… Your family is on THAT level?!" [Orion]
The more they talked about Sora's family, the more he became embarrassed. At some point, he ended up not talking.
"It used to be an unpopular style until abilities came out. I think it was… Sora's great great great grandfather that reinvented it so that abilities can be applied to it." [Felix]
"Seriously?!" [Orion]
"If I learn that, can I become stronger?!" [Brandon]
"Dunno, ask the person who actually knows the Fluttering Fist." [Felix]
They all turned to Sora with eyes of expectations, clearly too much of a burden for the shy Sora.
"I… uh… m-maybe…?" [Sora]
As their excitement rose, the school bell rang.
"Okay, enough horsing around. You can all go home now." [Mr. Frank]
Fortunately for Sora, the excitement dropped. Most of the students lost interest now that they were allowed to return home. With a tap on the shoulder, Adam turned his head to his best friend.
"Let's get going shall we?" [Felix]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The two returned home, opening the door to a house that seemed lifeless.
"Hm, I guess everyone's out." [Felix]
"Vivian's probably shopping for groceries or out walking Kilo and Echo, but what is Aurora doing?" [Adam]
"Maybe she went with Vivian for more snacks." [Felix]
"Like a child?" [Adam]
"You said it, not me." [Felix]
They chuckled at the thought of Aurora following Vivian around with her child-like exterior. It was something that they could only joke about when the person herself wasn't present.
"Anyways, I'm going to hit the shower. I feel sweaty as hell." [Felix]
"Not a bath?" [Adam]
"Hell no. I'm not going to wallow in my own filth." [Felix]
"...I don't think you're going through the right process if you're actually filthy when you get in the tub." [Adam]
Felix waved his hand as if to say, "Whatever" and simply left for the bath.
("...And now I have nothing to do.") [Adam]
Making sure the front food was locked, he went to grab a towel in his room. As he changed, Adam heard the doorbell ring.
"Can you get that?!" [Felix]
After hearing him call over from the shower, Adam decided to help receive the guest.
"Hello?" [Adam]
He opened the door, revealing a familiar person behind it.
"Excuse me, may I ask if- huh? Adam?!" [???]
"Vamp?!" [Adam]
