As Adam struggled in vain, the little girl gently placed a finger on his forehead.
"AGH!!" [Adam]
A flood of information entered his mind, filling his vision with images from an unknown source.
("This is…!") [Adam]
As he began to have an understanding of what he was seeing, an intense pain pierced his head.
"Urk!" [Adam]
Tears covered his view. The events occurring confused him, causing everything to turn black.
("I'm… Losing consciousness…") [Adam]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
By the time he had re-awoken, he found himself on the ground. Alarmed, he quickly brought himself up to one knee.
("Where is she?!") [Adam]
He scanned the room, but the little girl was nowhere to be seen.
("She's not here…") [Adam]
With the girl's disappearance, he took time to collect himself.
"What was I- Ugh!" [Adam]
He clutched his head, a dull pain pulsated within.
"You alright there?" [Krino]
("I… Yeah... I'm fine... ") [Adam]
He stood up, staggering all the way. He glanced around the room, unsure of where he was.
("Wait… I don't remember being in this spot before.") [Adam]
He turned around to see the previous copper door completely shut. Taking a few steps closer, he tried opening the door.
"Hnng!!" [Adam]
He pulled on it, but there was no sign of it moving.
"Haa… it's locked…?" [Adam]
"Then find another way out." [Krino]
He turned back to face the room, inspecting it instead of just glossing over it.
("What is this place…?") [Adam]
Ores, hammers, anvils, and flames. The room was filled with it. There were pipes all around the room, seemingly ventilating the area. Adam thought the room was strange, but something else caught his eye.
"Is that… A DEAD BODY?!?!" [Adam]
In the corner of the room sat a withered corpse. It lay atop a wooden chair along with a leathered book and pen in its hands. It wore thick leather clothing, all covered with a black apron.
"He's holding something, go take a look." [Krino]
"Hell no! Thats creepy! What if it wakes up and attacks me?!" [Adam]
He stared at the corpse, keeping his distance all the while.
"Are you serious? It's dead. It won't move." [Krino]
("Have you not seen a single horror film?") [Adam]
"I only have the memories of the ones you watched." [Krino]
("Then you should know that dead bodies jump at you the moment you come near it!") [Adam]
"Are you serious…?" [Krino]
Krino was in complete disbelief, but there was nothing he could do about it.
"Alright, how about this? Why don't you try throwing something at it? See if it moves." [Krino]
Though the idea was strange, Adam didn't refuse it.
"...I'll at least try it." [Adam]
He took a nearby ore and threw it at the corpse. The ore hit its head with a thwack and fell to the floor.
"..." [Adam]
He waited in anticipation, staring at it like a hawk.
"It… didn't move?" [Adam]
"See? I told you it won't move. Now go get that book." [Krino]
"Ugh… Fine…" [Adam]
Although reluctantly, he slowly made his way over to the corpse.
("I swear to god if it moves…") [Adam]
He slightly bent over and took hold of the book.
("Huh?") [Adam]
He tried taking the book out of its hand, but the cold wrinkled fingers still held on.
"C'mon! Let go!" [Adam]
He yanked the book from its hand, staggering backwards after he finally pried it from its grasp.
"...That was quite literally the definition of a "death grip"..." [Adam]
("Now how about this book… Eh?") [Adam]
He inspected the front, but there was no cover.
("No design? Just a plain book?") [Adam]
Flipping through the pages, he noticed something odd about it.
("There's… Nothing?!") [Adam]
The thought left him speechless, enough for him to not notice the movement in the background.
"Gen stafner Ankaram!" [???]
"Wha- UWAH!!!" [Adam]
The corpse's hollowed eyes lit aflame. Just as Adam had feared, the body had come back to life.
"AHH!! I TOLD YOU KRINOOOO!!!" [Adam]
"IT'S NOT MY FAULTTTT!!!" [Krino]
