Adam faced off against the blue giant, staring it down as he stayed airborne.
("Now… How should I approach it?") [Adam]
"Forgotten about me already?" [Krino]
Unsurprised, Adam waved Krino off.
("Not really, but I just don't feel like summoning you right now.") [Adam]
"Why not? Let me get some fresh air." [Krino]
("Hm… Let me test my own limits first.") [Adam]
As he contemplated his next move, the blue giant was getting impatient.
"GUOOHH!!!" [Blue Giant]
"Uh oh." [Adam]
The giant charged at him, arms flailing. The movements were incredibly sluggish, allowing Adam to slip through them.
"How about crushing its eyes for starters?" [Krino]
("Good idea.") [Adam]
"Pressure Cannon!" [Adam]
He zipped through the air, blasting air at grasping hands. Unfortunately, his attack was off the mark, hitting the giants arm instead.
"GRAHHH!!!" [Blue Giant]
"Damn, it missed. It's harder than I thought." [Adam]
"I think it's working though. Try knocking it off balance." [Krino]
("Shhh. Let me think for myself.") [Adam]
Filling his hands with air, he fired off multiple pillars of wind in rapid succession.
"Grr…" [Blue Giant]
("No way… It blocked?") [Adam]
The giant covered its front with all of its arms, withstanding the blows.
("If that's not enough… Then how about an even larger one?") [Adam]
Placing his hands together, he gathered the surrounding air into his palms.
("I don't know if it will work, but… Following my pressure cannon theory, this will pack a punch.") [Adam]
"Pressure Cannon!" [Adam]
Releasing the combination of two hands, a gust much stronger than his previous blasts shot out.
"Go down!" [Adam]
The giant braced itself once more, linking its arms in front of its body.
"GRAHH?!?!" [Blue Giant]
The blast forced open its arms, leaving itself wide open.
("I can't let this chance pass!") [Adam]
Wasting no time, he flew into one of the giant's palms.
"Pressure cannon!" [Adam]
Firing his ability point blank, he crushed another one of its eyes.
"GUOHHH!!!" [Blue Giant]
Angered and frustrated, the giant gave up on defense and resorted to grasping at Adam.
("It's going crazy!") [Adam]
The blue giant went on a rampage, destroying the surrounding buildings.
("If it's this stupid, then I can just get rid of the rest of its eyes.") [Adam]
Skillfully dodging, he observed the blue giant like a hawk. Watching for an opportune moment to jump in.
("Cmon… It's gotta slip up somewhere…") [Adam]
After evading it for minutes, his opportunity came. With the giant's loss of eyesight, its balance shifted.
("For its next eye… Let me try something else.") [Adam]
"Zero Point!" [Adam]
Compressing its eye, he forcefully pulled it out of its socket. The giant roared in anguish, its voice booming throughout the area.
("That's three down. Three more to go.") [Adam]
Repeating his previous approaches, he quickly disposed of it's remaining eyes. Leaving the giant without eyes, it could only wave its arms around helplessly.
("TIme to finish it off. But how am I going to do that?") [Adam]
"Have you tried hitting it really really hard?" [Krino]
"Shut it. But that's a good idea." [Adam]
He made a beeline for the giant's head, preparing to unleash an attack.
"Wha-?!?!" [Adam]
The singular closed eye on the giant's head suddenly shot open, locking onto Adam in an instant.
("I-I can't move?!") [Adam]
It's black and yellow eye stared Adam down, sending waves throughout his body.
("I can't maintain flight!") [Adam]
Paralyzed, he began to lose altitude.
"Sh*t! The floors coming closer!" [Adam]
He closed his eyes, bracing for impact.
("...Nothing?") [Adam]
"Phew… got here just in time." [???]
Adam slowly opened his eyes.
"Alex?! I thought you were Felix for a second!" [Adam]
("...I can move my mouth? I'm floating?!") [Adam]
He felt wind currents underneath his body, keeping him afloat.
"Wow, not even a thank you?" [Alex]
"Thanks. When did you learn how to fly?" [Adam]
"About the same time you learned your abcs." [Alex]
"Haha, very funny." [Adam]
Though he was joking on the outside, Adam was actually glad Alex was there.
"Where's everyone else?" [Adam]
"Evacuating. I came back to get you while Felix escorts everyone to the safety dome. Though I didn't think you would actually need help." [Alex]
"Am I really that strong in your eyes?" [Adam]
"If you're not strong, what is?" [Alex]
"Uh…" [Adam]
("There's Sebastian, Aurora, and regrettably… Roy.") [Adam]
"Nevermind that, help me take this voidling down." [Adam]
Looking up at the giant, Alex saw the results of Adam's confrontation.
"Dang~, you did a number on it. Wait, the hell is up with that eye? That's giving mega creepy vibes." [Alex]
"It's the reason I can't move right now. I'm guessing that it paralyzes whatever it looks at." [Adam]
"So that's why you're doing that weird pose." [Alex]
"Yeah, mind helping me out?" [Adam]
"Sure. Wind Blade!" [Alex]
He slashed at the sky, sending a blade of air at the giant's eye.
"Oh! I'm free!" [Adam]
"Huh?!" [Alex]
"What're you…" [Adam]
He looked up, watching an unbelievable sight.
"My Wind Blade… It's frozen in mid-air?!" [Alex]
No longer looking at Adam, the giant was staring at the attack.
"So it literally freezes everything it sees…" [Adam]
"Lets just rush it. Air Walk!" [Alex]
Lifting himself up, he quite literally walked on air.
("I should follow up.") [Adam]
"Implode!" [Adam]
The two tried to circle around, but the giant began to move. It looked away from Alex's previous move and sidestepped it.
("Why does it seem more intelligent now?") [Adam]
They charged forward without a second thought. The voidling's eye flashed towards Adam, paralyzing him once again.
"Urk! Not again!" [Adam]
This time, it didn't let Adam fall. It swiftly grabbed him and strengthened its grip.
"I-It's crushing me!" [Adam]
"Sh*t!" [Alex]
Unlike Adam's Implode, Alex was lacking speed.
("I have to kill it before it crushes Adam!") [Alex]
"Wind Sword!" [Alex]
He formed a blade out of thin air and slashed at the back of the monster's head.
"Guh!" [Alex]
His sword shattered upon impact, blowing back into nothingness.
("It's hard!") [Alex]
His hands trembled from the recoil.
"AGHH!!!" [Adam]
"Damn it, Adam!" [Alex]
("I'm running out of time!") [Alex]
Gears churned inside of his head, thinking of a solution.
("I know!") [Alex]
"Over here!" [Alex]
He screamed into the voidling's ear, startling it as well as gaining it's attention.
"Urk!" [Alex]
("So this is what it's like to be paralyzed!") [Alex]
With its attention on Alex, Adam began to move.
"Hrng!!!" [Adam]
He strained his muscles, slowly pushing open the giant's hand. Noticing itself being pushed back, the giant locked onto Adam.
"Damn it! Krino!" [Adam]
"On it!" [Krino]
A flash of light came down, followed by the boom of thunder.
"GUOHHH!!!" [Blue Giant]
The light dimmed, revealing a sword lodged into its eye.
"Finish it off!" [Adam]
Alex nodded and immediately made his way to the sword.
"Just shut up and die!" [Alex]
He grabbed a hold of the sword and tried shoving it in even deeper.
("Not deep enough!") [Alex]
While he was deep in thought, Adam had already climbed up next to him.
"What are you doing? PUSH!!!" [Adam]
The two pressed down as hard as they could. Blue blood along with the insides of the eye spurt out, covering their faces. It wasn't until the entire blade had gone inside that they stopped.
"Haah… Haah... Is it dead?" [Adam]
"Huff… Huff… Probably- uwoah!" [Alex]
With the giant finally dead, it began to fall.
"Oh crap, hold on!" [Adam]
The giant hit the ground, shaking its surroundings. Surprisingly, Adam and Alex were fine.
"Now we can relax…" [Adam]
"Not yet, we have to get to the safety dome." [Alex]
"Ugh, fine." [Adam]
Alex lent out a hand and pulled Adam up. Just as they started walking, they felt the ground shudder.
"What's that sound?" [Adam]
The shuddering turned into thundering. It didn't take them a long time to realize what it was.
"No way…" [Adam]
"A second one...?" [Alex]
Standing before them was another giant.
