Ling Chen walked towards the window and opened it. When he opened the window a gust of air came. Looking at the scenery in front of him Ling Chen jumped from the window and walked towards a huge stone.
Ling Chen sat on the stone and inhaled air. The most fascinating part was he was inhaling air through his skin, not through his mouth or nose.
This method was called [Breathing art of the Ancient turtle] which allowed you not only to breathe through the skin but also hide your presence.
It was one of the most fascinating breathing methods Ling Chen had ever learned and he might be the only one who possessed it. His master didn't tell who created it but without a doubt, the person who made this method was a genius.
This method was most useful to assassins and could easily fetch for more than tens of thousands of gold coins if sold but Ling Chen has no intention of selling it or keeping it to himself.
Ling Chen went back inside his room and started his meditation. After two hours passed by and Ling Chen was called for dinner.
Ling Chen walked to the kitchen and saw his father, mother, and grandfather waiting for him. He sat on the chair and his father immediately started devouring the food.
Ling Chen found it quite funny but his mother didn't. She pulled his ears and said with a scary face, "Eat slowly otherwise you would be sleeping in the empty stomach"
Ling Chen's father gulped and nodded, he might be one of the strongest in the village but in front of his wife, he was nothing more than mice.
Ling Chen smiled as he watched his family get along. His father looked at Ling Chen, "Isn't it time for our son to train"
Immediately his mother secretly pinched his thigh, "Dear, Isn't our son too little to train??"
His father nodded, "Yes yes ouch our son is much still little to train".
Ling Chen's mother sighed, "Our son is only two years old and here you are trying to train him"
"When I was at his age I was already being trained by my father"
In an instant, Ling Chen's grandfather gave a tight slap on his forehead, "Hmph it is your fault for looking like a monkey at a younger age, let alone face your behavior too was also like a monkey. If it wasn't for you creating all sorts of mischief I wouldn't have become old so fast"
Ling Chen's mother started laughing, "I still remember the time when you tried to steal fruits but got caught by my father, oh yeah there was also a time when you were chased by a chicken and you had to hide behind my back"
His father looked very embarrassed as he said, "Can all of you not talk about those times??"
Ling Chen's Grandfather finally opened his mouth which caused an explosion, "Oh yeah there was one time when you were caught peeping girls from another village"
*BOOM*
Ling Chen who was trying to stop himself from laughing gulped and went near his grandfather just in case while his father was being dragged to hell.
Maybe this was the day the village would have their leader killed, Ling Chen looked at the roof as he secretly mumbled, "May the Gods protect you father"
The very next day Ling Chen woke up early and went outside to do morning exercise. When Ling Chen went outside he saw a man tied with ropes. His face was barely recognizable and it looked like somebody had beaten him senseless, his clothes were torn down and there were many claw marks. Ling Chen shivered as he imagined what happened to him, "Uncle, what happened to you??"
The uncle slowly opened his eyes, "I am your father!!"
Ling Chen felt like the uncle joking but oddly his voice sounded familiar, "I am gonna leave if you want to joke"
The uncle shouted, "I am your father!!"
A slipper came flying out of nowhere and immediately hit the mysterious uncle's head. Ling Chen was now convinced this mysterious uncle was his father, he thought to untie the ropes but he felt chill from his behind while his father started to panic.
Ling Chen slowly glanced behind and saw it was his mother. His mother was holding a broom at her left hand and slipper at her right hand.
"It looks like not even the heavens want to save my father," Ling Chen thought.
Ling Chen slowly walked away from his father and ran away without a second thought, while his father's last hope withered away.
After Ling Chen went inside his room and started to meditate. His goal was to reach the mid-stage of Yellow rank. While Ling Chen was meditating he was disturbed by the noise outside of the house. It was probably the scream of his father so, Ling Chen decided to ignore it. If it was in the past he wouldn't be distributed even if someone was drumming in front of him but the person who was screaming was his father so Ling Chen wasn't able to ignore it even though he wanted to.
After some time the noise finally stopped and Ling Chen was finally able to concentrate. Mediating for more than four hours Ling Chen was able to achieve some success but not enough.
"If I want to advance I would have to work harder"
It was easier said than done, to advance he needed to fully immerse himself in mediation. Ling Chen always played with mother and grandfather but if Ling Chen said he doesn't want to be disturbed and stays all day in his room which parents wouldn't get worried??. As such Ling Chen dropped this idea, he instead focused on training his body.
His body was significantly stronger than most of the boys at his age but this wasn't enough for Ling Chen, he wanted his body stronger than iron.
Ling Chen knew a lot of methods to strengthen his bodies but time had yet to come. He wasn't old enough otherwise those methods would harm his body instead of strengthening it.
