Chapter 11 - Story Time (2)

"I don't know if you remember how strict our father was.." Niklaus felt something trickle down his cheek. "But he loved us as a father does."

"Nik, you don't have to.." As he listened to Niklaus's story he was starting to remember how he used to see Niklaus.

"I want you to know about him." Niklaus looked over to Neil and Neil realized that Niklaus was crying. "I know you don't remember but my favorite memory of us together was 10 years ago, I think, when we all drove to our grandparents in Nevada. We had been in the car for three days, you and I had ran out of movies to watch in the car so in order to keep us entertained dad put on the radio and we all just sang to the music until we came to a McDonalds, Charlie, our cousin, watched us play in the pens while mother and father ordered food." Niklaus let out a chuckle as he remembered the story, more tears slowly rolled down his face. "When they brought the food over we ate so fast and ran back to play while they ate and took a break from driving, we walked out soon after but after they got us buckled in you vomited on the floor in front of you and just as mother finished cleaning it up I vomited too."

"Then, we all got out of the car as mother cleaned it and Charlie started crying because she couldn't handle vomit and being the eight year olds we were tried our best to comfort her but only made her cry more." Neil smiled slightly. "I-I remember that, I wasn't sure who everyone was until now, I wasn't even sure if it was a real memory but now I know. Niklaus, I remember that." They both stared at each other and smiled, while one was an amnesiac and the other a domestic victim they finally knew, without any doubt, that they are, in fact, brothers.

"Nik, would you be apposed to telling me more about our pack?" Neil glanced at the floor, he didn't know why but he felt ashamed having to ask.

"Of course... one day but first let me finish telling you about.." Niklaus took a deep breathe. "My captivity."

"Aww, little wolf, don't make that face." Blink has always managed to make my skin crawl. "We're going to have so much fun if you cooperate."

I spat in his face, I didn't know who this guy was yet but I could tell he was the alpha and I could tell that I didn't like him.

Blink wiped the loogie from his face as his expression changed to anger. He took his right arm and backhanded me across the face. I tasted blood, I licked my lip it stung when I got to the slit. This guy, he's lean and doesn't seem at all well built but he's strong. He managed to bust my lip with one hit, nobody's ever managed that, not even the other wolves at school who're jealous of my status in the pack.

"Ooh, I'm sorry little wolf." He frowned as he saw my lip. "I didn't mean to be so harsh."

"What do you want from me? Why bring me here?"

"Well, I suppose there's no harm in telling you. It's not like you can escape." He thought for a moment. "Truthfully, I need both of you, as we speak my men are out looking for your brother."

"You won't find him." Our pack house is well hidden, the witch, Arcadia, has it spelled with a barrier.

"I will eventually, just wait." Making sure to get the last word Blink walked out of the room.

Everyday for the next year was exactly the same. Blink would come into the room, ask how I am, ask where my pack is, I'd refuse to tell him, he'd send a guard to beat on me until I passed out, then I'd get woken up later and be forced to eat dinner with my captors. Roughly six months passed and on September 12, 2011 I had my first shift. I guess I did some major damage because the next day when I woke I was in a cell instead of the room, that's also when they started feeding me scraps and since our healing speeds up after our first shift, the beatings started getting worse. The next six months were again, the same: Blink came to talk, I'd get beaten, get fed scraps, blackout, and wake up with fresh bruises. On our twelfth birthday, March 7, 2012, Blink managed to make me so angry that I shifted and blacked out. I didn't wake up until a week later. I missed something major, I think it was an attack on the pack house but nobody told me what actually happened. I only knew it was something big because there were a lot of Blink's pack missing and the rest still had bruises from whatever had happened.

"Is he awake yet?" Blink's voice could be heard coming towards the cell.

"I'm not sure sir."

Blink walked to the bars of the cell.

"Oh good, he is awake!" Blink grinned. "Tell me little wolf, WHERE'S YOUR BROTHER!?"

"I'll never tell you where he or my pack are!"

"I already know where your pack is.." Blink waved his hand, dismissing what I had said. "I just need to know where your brother is."

"W-How did you find the pack?" I could feel the worry filling my face. If he knew where the pack was how did he not know where you were?

"Wait Nik, go back.." Neil looked puzzled. "You said you were out for a week?"

"Yeah, isn't that normal for a forced shift?"

"Not at all, when you force shift you shouldn't be out for more than an hour or two." Neil's eyes darted back and forth in his head. "Nik, when did your wolf stop talking to you?"

Suddenly Niklaus's face changed as he realized.

"It was then, when I was out. He stopped talking to me after I had the forced shift."

"Niklaus, I think something happened in that time that you were out. Something bad!" Neil's face gave Niklaus a bad feeling.

"I need to talk to Blink." If anyone is going to be able to fill in the gap of that week, it's Blink.
