We were just about to reach the pack house when four men stopped us in our tracks.
"We've been looking for you." The first thug pointed his weapon at Niklaus.
"What do you mean? Niklaus, who are these guys?" Morgan sounded worried because even though she's a fast runner and she's smart, she's not a very strong fighter.
"Leave then alone." Niklaus completely ignored Morgan.
"What if we don't? What are YOU going to do?" The second thug chuckled as he started eyeing the group. He licked his lips when he got to Morgan, looking her up and down.
"Got yourself some new friends huh?" Thug one took a step closer. "What's to stop us from killing you all right now?" Thug one was toying with Niklaus, getting under his skin.
"I-if you." Niklaus changed to a submissive stance. "If you leave them alone, I'll come with you."
"Not much of a deal, you'll be coming with us either way." Thug 3 sounded like a moron, looked like one too. Who are these guys? How did Niklaus know them? What did they want with him?
"I'll come with you, willingly! No fighting back, no escaping, no whining, no yelling. I'll go of my own free will." Niklaus held his hands out like a prisoner would waiting to be cuffed. The thugs were pondering it over, unsure if they wanted Niklaus to come willing more than they wanted to kill us and feed their thirsts' for blood.
"Fine, we won't hurt your puny friends!" Thug four walked forward, cuffed Niklaus, and started walking away with him.
THWAP
Harper smacked thug four with a tree branch.
"NO! Don't fight these guys, they'll KILL YOU!!" Niklaus was starting to panic.
"We've got this, don't wor-"Before Harper could finish his sentence the three of us were on the ground.
(They're fast!) Blue was as surprised as the rest of us at the speed these pricks had.
I got up and tackled thug four, I started pounding him but got pulled off by thug three who started kicking me. Harper could feel the pain of me, his mate, being kicked which made him angry. Harper quickly transformed into his wolf and grabbed the guys arm dragging him down, thug three punched Harper, or Apollo as his wolf was named, in the face. Apollo could taste the blood in his mouth, like rusted iron, it only made him angrier but by the time he caught his bearings, the thug had already changed to his wolf and was now clamped on the back of Apollo's neck, Apollo screamed as his flesh was torn open and he was dropped to the ground.
"Hey! Wasn't there four of them!" Thug one noticed that Morgan ran to get help.
"Leave the girl to me, I want a taste of what she can offer." Thug two ran after her with a hungry look, he was definitely going to catch her he was fast. I tried calling to Harper who was now a naked human passed out on the ground.
"Shut up!" Thug one kicked me in the face, everything went blurry and I could feel my teeth clack together. Shortly after thug two came back dragging Morgan by her hair, he threw her on the ground in front of the thug one.
"Did you manage to tell anybody we were here?" Thug one lifted her face to meet his own. She pulled away.
"No."
"I'm sorry, what was that? Could you speak up?" Thug two whispered in her ear and she turned to face him.
"NO, I DIDN'T TELL ANYONE!!" Thug two slapped her across the face and she was now facing the ground with her hair covering her face.
"Come on boss, why don't we have a little fun with her first?" Thug two picked Morgan up to face the other three thugs.
"Do what you want, I'm taking the boy home. See you three at the rendezvous. Don't be Late!" Thug one started to pull Niklaus away and Niklaus watched as the other three thugs surrounded Morgan, he knew what they were going to do, he had to stop them. Niklaus had to fight and he did. He managed to pull his cuffs from Thug One's hands and started running back towards us and the other thugs, he managed to tackle one of them.
(But it's four against one and that one can't change to a wolf not to mention his hands are cuffed together, what could he possibly do?) Blue has a point, what COULD he do?
(I don't know, but he's putting himself between us and them, he's trying to make sure they don't r*pe Morgan.)
It took all four of the thugs to get him pinned but only three to keep him there. Thug two walked back to Morgan who was also passed out on the ground.
'I need to get up, I need to help them' I tried to stand but after being kicked so many times in the ribs and in the face I couldn't do anything but watch as things unfold.
"Get away from them!!" Niklaus was still struggling to get up. Thug two just grinned at Niklaus and started unbuttoning Morgan's shirt.
"We'll go away as soon as I've finished my fun!"
"NO! I said get away FROM THEM!!!!"
Red lightning struck the ground where Niklaus and the three thugs had been before.
"Shit! What the fuck!? What happened!? Where'd they go!?" Thug Two was panicking.
I couldn't see any of them either anymore, everything was getting darker and I realized I was finally moving on from my injuries. I was going to die. I had to find Harper, I had to apologize, I had to tell him how I felt, we never even finished our bond.
"Harper?" I could feel tears welling up "HARPER!! I'm sorry Harper! I couldn't protect you like I said I would and I'm sorry! I have to tell you something before it's to late! I.. love.." I couldn't feel anything anymore, it was black and I was floating.
(It's over. I was too late!) The tears of my failure flowed down my cheeks, the drops tracing my ears.
(I'm sure mate knows how much we love him.) Blue said unsure if he was trying to console Neil or himself.
