Scream rang out of the manor, Lanna who forgot to make Shaine sign some documents had returned back to the house. When she heard the scream blood froze inside her veins. She ran inside, earlier she didn't notice but from the entrance she could see plants and trees covering the main door, making it difficult to enter.
Lanna ran to outhouse and brought an axe to make her way inside. After some efforts she moved inside. She passed by the drawing room to family hall when she saw it. Body of her husband hanging from the branch. She looked around and found huddled up Chloe. Anger ran through her mind like active volcano. Screaming " you wicked girl ". She held hairs on the back of her head and pulled tightly.
That's when she saw it, her eyes were golden completely golden and those trees everywhere, it finally clicked for her. Fear froze Lanna's mind completely, she let her go and jumped few steps behind. She saw itching on her ankles and small branches started covering her. All this while Chloe was whispering " plants did this, tree killed Uncle Shaine". Lanna slowly felt her conscious leaving her completely. Chloe stood up and ran outside the house to Lucifer's place.
Few hours later
Chloe was huddled up hiding inside Lucifer's mansion which was completely empty right now, with no remnant of previous residence, Just than sound of police car rang outside. Chloe followed the sound to found crowd gathered outside the mansion. Apparently neighbours heard some screams and informed the police. Soon one stretcher with dead body and another with Lanna who was tied up completely as used for mentally unstable patients. Chloe peeked inside to find house was devoid of any traces of those trees.
It was as if everything was her imagination and nothing more. Shaine was found lying on the ground with abrasions and bruise on his neck and Lanna in the state of maniac sitting next to him and mumbling something about trees. Chloe was frozen on spot when Police Chief Mac noticed her. He already had details of victim's family and their adopted niece. He could bet his penny that this frazzled up girl was missing niece and only witness to everything.
