Chereads / The Afterlife Guardian Angel System / Chapter 7 - The Creator

Chapter 7 - The Creator

"The Creator."

Jane's eyes widened to the size where she was sure that they would pop out and she'd make a good entertainment in front of the Creator.

The Creator just kept his smile alive and gestured her to step forth, his other hand snapping the fingers for the angel beside him to escort her.

"Congratulations, Jane. You will become something special for someone. Soon." The Creator said, confusing her slightly.

"Am I...am I heading back to Earth?" She asked innocently, and that was all that she thought of at the moment.

Her family would've been devastated. Her father especially. He had warned her, she said she would be strong. She broke her promise...

"I know you're hoping to get back to the realm, but that is not possible. Not until...someone needs you."

Needs me? She thought, her gears running wild in thought.

"Who might need me after my death?" She asked, oblivious to the fact of what she had become whilst walking through the tunnel.

The tunnel had gifted her the powers for an eternity, well that is what it was supposed to be.

"I'm quite confused, what am I now?" She asked.

"Jane, you are an angel now. Not just any ordinary angel who will always be by my side, but a guardian angel." They said, startling Jane who was greatful for being offered such a responsibility to a soul so pure.

She knew about guardian angels too, apparently. They are the ones who take care of the living soul of selected individuals in the Earthy realm, keeping them safe and out of potential danger.

Jane felt extremely honored, the smile coming from the bottom of the heart when she realized that she would be assigned to a new born baby to keep them safe.

"About that, you are slightly wrong there Jane. Guardian angels are assigned to the humans when they are ready and in absolute need. A guardian angel doesn't necessarily protect the baby right from their birth. But do not worry, I will let you look at your human when the time comes by. Until then, you might want to practice a few rudimentary skills of being a guardian angel. My angel, Raphael will help you with that. You can commence whenever you feel like, but just know that you will be assigned to the human suddenly, a soul is much powerful at birth than at any time of their lifespan. My wishes to you, our new guardian angel." With that, the atmosphere turned foggy and The Creator made their exit.

"Quite like it." She mumbled to herself and looked at the angel, their mesmerizing feathers and how they are floating in the atmosphere without their wings. Well, apparently their body is covered with feathers.

"Do you speak often?" She enquired the angel, Raphael, if she heard them right.

"I do." And the feathery being spun in the atmosphere, legs making a contact to the ground and a handsome male now stood in the place of the angel.

"Whoa..." he exclaimed unknowingly. The wings appeared to extend from his back, much larger and much prettier than hers.

"Thank you, considering that you liked my wings?" This particular angel seemed charming and jovial, so Jane smiled at them, thinking it was to ease her in this new realm of gods and angels.

"Do not worry, I will guide you the best way I can. I am, after all the angel of healing and guidance. Archangel, if I'm being specific." He said and showed his perly teeth to the woman soul in front of him.

Jane quietly nodded and looked around, until he flapped his gigantic wings and caught her attention.

"We can wait here for as long as you can. But let me just tell you, you might be assigned to any soul, at any time now. So I suggest I show you everything about the guardian angel system." He said, a king suggestion as he waited for her to say something.

"Oh, right. Let's start right away, please."

"That's great. Here, you will need these." The archangel motioned in the air and soon a set of weird equipments landed in front of Jane.

"These are the artifacts that will help you gain strength, and some will help you control them. After all, balance is what keeps you grounded and wise." He said charismaticly and Jane couldn't agree more.

"I'll take you to your training grounds now." He said and clapped in the air, Jane automatically closing her eyes and feeling a strong breeze through her hair and wings.

"We are here, you may open your eyes now." The archangel said and Jane opened her eyes, trusting the angel and looking at her surroundings.

She was mesmerized, clearly. Her jaw was slacking and her eyes felt blessed by the scenic view in front of her.

Golden lake, purple skies and blue sand beneath.

She set her foot slowly on the ground, the texture of the soil pleasing her senses innocently as a smile made onto her features.

"Let's start now, shall we?"
