(THERLYN'S POV)
After about a week, I finally got discharged from the hospital. Namjoon decided to let me stay in his apartment and talk about what's gonna happen next after Jin gets married. I had to admit, I'm really hurt, knowing that the man that I was waiting for and dreamed of marrying, would turn out that he can never be mine.
As much as I couldn't take it, I have to accept the fact that he's getting married to someone else. To be honest, I'm not mad nor gonna hate his fiancé. She was actually really nice. During the time we had dinner with her, she was quiet, polite not to mention very friendly. I can honestly say that she would be more perfect for Jin as a wife than me. I'm not as elegant as her, nor as pretty as she is. And to top that off, Jin's father likes her more than me. So it kills me to say that...
SHE WAS REALLY DESTINED FOR JIN... NOT ME.
As I was packing my stuff, someone came in, I turn around to see... "Mrs. Kim?" She suddenly hugged me and said,
"Hi Dear, how are you? Namjoon told me everything." "I'm doing well, just recovering Aunty." I answered. Wow, feels weird now to call her that, I pull away from the hug and instantly apologized. "I'm really sorry... I know that I can't call you that anymore, Mrs. Kim." I really thought she was gonna be upset. Instead, she smiled and shook her head. "Don't be, Dearie. I always like it when you call me that. In fact, I would rather like it if you call me Mother. Cause even though you and Jin are no longer together, in my heart you will always be MY DAUGHTER." I started crying again, thinking that I don't deserve this. She hug me again and I hugged her back. "Thank you, Mother."
"I love you, My Daughter." she replied, making me cry not in sorrow, but joy. I feel lucky enough to have someone like Mrs. Kim. After I lost my mother, she had always been there in my ups and downs. But now that everything is going to change, what's gonna happen?
* A MONTH LATER *
(NAMJOON'S POV)
As I was struggling with my necktie, I heard someone knocking on the door. "Come in." I said. I turn to see Therlyn. I gotta admit, she looks pretty in a dress. I barely see her wear dresses. She mostly wears jeans and sleeveless shirts with flower prints or unicorn themed shirts with a jacket. Now, I can say that whatever she wears, she always looks beautiful to me. She's really grown up now.
"Namjoon, are you okay?" she suddenly asked, snapping her fingers in front of my face. I got startled, and went back to reality. "Yeah... Wow you look great." I told her, making her blush. Very cute too. "Thanks, you look great yourself." she said, making me smile. She suddenly approach me and said, "You need help with that?" Then she pointed at my necktie and just chuckled. "Uh yes, please?"
While she was fixing my tie, I was just staring at her. I can't believe we have to do this. But it's a risk that we're going to take. After this, it's over, and she can move on to a happy and quieter life. Our plan was simple. Yes, we weren't really invited to Jin-hyung's wedding because of his dad; my stepfather. That man really gets into my nerves. But we have to at least talk to Jin-hyung, and say goodbye before leaving.
Yes, I will be going back to Italy, and stay there for good, along with Therlyn. My mom told me that she needs to get out of the country not just to move on from Jin-hyung, but to live a new life where she can have solitude and to be free from this suffocating situation. Mom even promised Therlyn that instead of video chats, they decided to write letters instead, just so it won't be suspicious, especially to my stepdad.
After a while, she's finished arranging my tie and smiled. "Are you ready?" I asked. "Yes." she said, without hesitation.
So...
It's now or never...
Don't worry my little turtle...
After this, everything will be alright.
Cause now,
I'm here for you, Therlyn.
