Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Micheal Reener's perspective

Well, now this is certainly remarkable. It's not just an outrageous psychopath manipulating naive humans to kill themselves, but furthermore, she presumably possesses IT skills to hack into cameras, a.k.a the only evidence I have.

"Sir... None of the cameras have retained any more information about Auraity's escape." Celenier whispers.

I am certainly not being sarcastic about how delightful this case is!

"So these tapes contain a confined amount of information. Let's enquire about the doctor that Ms. Smith was conversing with before meeting Auraity." I mumbled and then started walking to the direction of the exit.

"Yes sir," Celenier responded, commencing to follow my way to the exit.

We thanked Raphael and began searching for the doctor.

"The doctor's name is Martin Lethier, he is a very good friend of mine. He is the one that takes care of all my therapy sessions"

Celenier claimed.

Not paying any heed to Celenier's personal interests. I just nodded to his comprehensive explanation with the alliance between him and the doctor.

After what felt like generations, we finally reached to Leither's office. I took a deep breath as Celenier unlocked the door for me.

I entered the room, and the aura felt completely different from the rest of the hospital. It was soothing and peaceful, yet there was just this uncomfortable silence lingering through the corners.

I then realized there was a man seated at the very end of the room across a table. He was gazing at me with a very welcoming facial expression. Yet I got scarcely startled by the sudden gaze.

"Good evening, Celenier. What a pleasant surprise. Who is this young lady with you?" The doctor's voice echoed around the room.

Celenier let out a small giggle by Martin's remark but his chuckle was immediately resisted as he saw my red-eyed glare.

"Excuse me, mister. But I am 22 years old grown man. My name is Micheal Elvis Reener and I am the detective appointed for Karyn Smith's case, and Mister Celenier Hitoshi is here to help me with this investigation."

I clarified not trying to lose my composure.

"My bad, Mr. Reener! Due to your long curly hair and physical attributes just brought me to presume that you are a female. I sincerely apologize. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Martin Laurette Leither and I am the senior doctor of this Asylum. " Martin explained.

I am actually slightly offended but did not show any enthusiasm to reveal it.

"Well, Mister Martin, It's a pleasure to meet you. I would just wish to inquire about a few details related to the crime that occurred on 20th September." I said

"Sure" Martin replied calmly.

"What were you talking to Ms. Smith when you first saw her?"

"Well, I usually appoint new doctors to their slots. As Ms. Smith was a new attendee, I appointed her to Auraity Frendale Dellio. I was directing her to Auraity's room"

"Why Auraity Dellio in particular?"

"Well, Ms. Smith had a very promising experience when we refer to victim psychology, that is she had a relatively strong base of understanding patients, so we appointed her. Miss Dellio did not wish to communicate with any other specialist or professional doctors in the asylum. So we wanted to see if Auraity would acknowledge a fresh face."

"Why does Dellio not talk to any doctors? Why is she isolated from the hospital?"

"She in general does not talk to anyone. Her personality is awfully concerning as whenever she chatters to other patients, there would be a violent quarrel. The disputes would be between the patients she communicated with.

Due to this reason, we have kept her away from the rest of the hospital."

"What was Dellio's past?" I asked with slight skepticism.

"It is anonymous, as she was found by a cop in the middle of the night. The officer found her..."

Martin suddenly hesitated to speak for a moment and I could sense a slight hint of guilt in his countenance, which made me feel a little anxious.

"Banging her head on the wall in an abandoned street, she was also handcuffed and she was mumbling something to herself. Her behavior made the cop incredibly suspicious." Martin continued.

"She was instantly brought to the asylum. From that moment onwards, Auraity has not given the slightest information about her personal needs to anyone."

This girl is fascinating my instincts.

"Well, it was a pleasure meeting you, doctor. If I require any more information. I will contact you." I claimed.

"You're always welcomed, sir"

"So, Celenier we will take a break for today. Let's start our investigation from tomorrow." I mumbled.

"Thank you, sir!" Celenier exclaimed.

I nodded and started walking towards the door.

"So Celenier, as you are here, can we continue with our therapy sessions?" I heard Martin's faded voice as I exited the room.

Now I need to collect all the facts connected to her. While millions of notions were twirling around my sanity, I recognized that I exited the strange asylum, as I directly walked to the parking lot. I was searching for my bicycle to travel back to my house. I know its unusual for a detective like me to travel to a place that is 5 kilometers away in a bicycle, but I just find myself to be enthralled with simple dilemmas of life.

I prepared myself for the ride, and I commenced my route to a never-ending destiny.
