Chereads / Blue Soul Vampire: A Light in the Abyss / Chapter 35 - Leaving the Village

Chapter 35 - Leaving the Village

The early morning has summoned itself, its pleasant, yellow light flooded the shabby room, illuminating every details of dust and cracks on the walls.

Celina heaved the chalked skinned corpses up, then dragged them to the middle of the room. As she moved their bodies, guilt were clinging upon her as though she did a crime. She held a frown to Blue, who was calm as a meditating monk on the corner, she couldn't wait to burst after she was done. She lined them up and wrapped their corpses with blanket, since she couldn't bury them this was the only thing she could do.

Afterwards, she kneeled on the rough floor, clasping both of her arms into a praying position. "Rest in peace, may you live joyfully in Shahal for eternity." She prayed in a soothing tone.

"Heaven isn't real, their consciousness has ceased to exist and their fate is to only decompose." Blue interjected.

Celina growled, she turned her face to Blue. "Blue, once we get outside, we'll talk." Her voice heavy.

Blue grunted, he erected up, then headed to the doorway. "Then we have no time to waste." He said.

As he crossed the room, he halted and eyed the man shivering on the floor. "Hey dirt rag, follow me." His voice shoots out dread to the man.

The man slowly lifted himself, his jaws shaking and his swelling eyebugs tinted in glum. "Yes sir!" He revered in fright.

The man followed Blue, when they crossed the door way and went to the corridor, they vanished from Celina's view .

Celina was left alone crossing her arms, then she followed their tracks. Stepping upon the corridor floor, she noticed congealed blood stains on its wooden surface, deducing this was the spot they were slain, hopefully it won't be noticed early. There were blades splayed all over the floor, she took one with its sheath and hung it on her waist. She unsheathed and lifted the blade up, she noticed its edges was pitted, it was an old sword, if one were to peer close, one would notice dotted rust on its glistening surface. "Not good, huh?"

When they left the inn, the three of them ambled across the village, they basked themselves on the warm sunlight. Somehow, they were able to pass through the gates and leave the village without much fuss.

When they got far enough, Celina's face hardened, she stomped her foot and blocked Blue's path. "Blue, can you explain to me what happened?" She lifted her lower lip.

Blue narrowed his eyes as though tired to speak. "Some dudes wanted to enter, I took care of them. Is there something wrong with that?" Blue said.

Celina gestured her arms as though struggling to speak her mind. "Well, it's because... "

"What!" Blue spat.

Celina frowned, she pointed her thin finger to his face. "Listen, don't kill anyone ever again." She said assertively.

Blue bursted laughing as he directed his face to the sky, scoffing her words. When he had his fill, he gazed at her with a grin. "Enough idiocy woman, I'm losing braincells on my travels with you. A man needs to kill when he must."

He drove his piercing glare and face closer to her. "At some point, as long as there is danger, you will be forced to kill someone as well, mark my words." He cackled as he circled around her.

The man shyly tailed Blue, and Celina was forced to follow them.

"That guy!" She hissed under her breath. She jogged faster in order to keep up with his pace, she extended her arm and grabbed Blue's shoulder from behind. "Blue, what I'm saying is, don't take someone's life if you can prevent it. I know, with your power, you can restrain them without killing them. And remember we have a deal that you won't touch anybody before the two years span." She said.

Blue snorted, he rocked his body, shaking off Celina's arm. "Unfortunately, the deal has to change slightly since I have a body to preserve."

"Do you mean, you need to consume blood?" Celina said.

"That's right."

Celina crossed her arms, her eyes straying around the place, thinking. "Then, you can drink mine? But only a bit." She said somewhat unsure.

Blue laughed heavy. "Nice joke, but you know I can't touch you, I need you to be in your perfect condition after all." He said.

Celina sighed, she loosened up a bit. "Then, at least don't touch the innocents."

Blue grinned slightly. "Well, that depends on my mood."

Celina was left upset, her irked eyes gazed at Blue thoroughly, then a flash of a blurry memory bubbled up inside her head. She slightly flushed a bit as she touched her cheeks.

Blue had enough of her nonesense, he and the man went away first.

"Hey dirt rag, where are we heading?" Blue said dominantly.

The man chuckled anxiously. " To the north west, we're heading to Raxin."

"So, where is this Lanzud?" Blue said.

"I- It's somewhat high up north, it wi-will be a distant journey." The man stuttered.

"And how long can we reach there?" Blue said.

"Three weeks, if we walk." He answered.

Blue scratched his head, grunting. "Hey woman, you shall get a horse."

Celina didn't respond a word, Blue twisted his head to check her, he noticed she was spacing out while her head bent down, she seemed anxious as she continued to peer inside her head.

"Hey woman, are you listening?"

Celina's eyes were darting to and fro, her face was shy and innocent. "Umm Blue, I have something to ask you."

"What?" Blue said.

"Anyway, did something happen last night?" She said hesitantly.

Blue gave her a long stare, as though it took an hour, then he spun away. "Who knows."

Celina gave a face effusing in uneasiness. "Blue, please tell me!" She said beseechingly.

Blue continued to ignore her.

They tread across the road, basking in the warm air of the meadows, they could smell the scent of active spring. Under the sun's steady glow, Celina's arms began to limp, the bag were heaving her body down. "Blue, I'm exhausted." She said with her face drenched in sweat.

Blue sighed, he approached her back.

Celina gazed at her confused. "Blue what are you trying to do?"

"Remove your bag." Blue said.

"Why?" She said.

"Just do it."

After she complied Blue took the bag, he eyed the man. "Hey dirt rag." He said

Blue tossed it to the man, only to be caught by his arms. Blue pointed his sharp nails to the man. "From now on, you're gonna carry her stuff, got it?" His dominant voice uttered.

The man nodded with a shudder. "Of course sir."

Blue laughed menacingly as he passed by the man.

Celina frowned as her eyes followed Blue. "Blue, don't treat him like a slave!" She hissed.

After a few hours later of travel, the man's face produced sweat, his posture began to sag, his body felt heavy with every step.

When Blue and Celina went past by him, they halted to check the exhausted man. Blue grunted he went close to the man, he kicked his back to spur him forward. "Dirt rag, don't delay me, I already have too much nuisance on my shoulder."

The man feel on his knees, breathing heavy and wiping his sweat off. "I'm sorry sir, but this bag is too heavy."

Blue went closer as though about to kick him again.

Celina butted in, she lifted her arms in crucifix and tried to stop him. "Blue, don't treat him like a dog." She spun, went close and crouched on the man's side.

"Sir, are you okay?" Celina said, with a light tone.

The man gazed at her, his weary and frightened face were wiped away, his expression became relaxed and were on the verge of crying. He hugged her. "Miss mage." He whimpered.

Celina patted his back as he stared at Blue with a pout.

Blue snorted. "Ah, I can't believe I gave myself another problem." He trailed off alone and left the two.

Celina assisted the man to stand up, he was now relieved but there was an inkling of fear left on the expression of his face.

He sighed. "I thought I was gonna die yesterday."

Celina patted his shoulder, she casted a warm smile upon him, lifting his mood up. "Don't worry, he can't while I'm here?"

"You're quite kind, you both are very opposite." He said with a weary voice.

Celina's eyes began to turn dubious. "I'm kind but I'm not stupid, I still can't forgive you for trying to barge on my room." She said, with her tone slightly annoyed.

The man chuckled. "I'm sorry for that, for my apology I'll be carrying your stuff." He said then proceeded on his trails.

Celina then followed their steps.

"My name is Pelvin, I know who you are, miss Light Wielder, the eighth Pillar of Thesur." Pelvin said as he extended his arm to her.

Celina took his arm and they performed a handshake. She then chuckled. "Of course you know me, otherwise you wouldn't barge into my room late at night." She said with a trace of sarcasm.

Pelvin chortled as well. "I didn't know you have a sense of humor."

They heard Blue growling infront of them, he turned around, his pale lips sneered, he was obviously displeased. "Both of you are loud! Dirt rag and woman, keep your horses down!" He hissed.

Celina lifted her lower lip, while Pelvin nodded with a shiver on his face. "I'm sorry sir, truly sorry."

"Don't listen to him Pelvin, he had no authority over me." She said.

Pelvin sighed, his lips were shaking. "It baffles me how both of you are travelling, I mean your personalities are too different." He whispered.

Celina chuckled. "At first I had a hard time with him, but I got used to it. And don't worry, I know Blue more than anyone else."

Pelvin rubbed his chin, his face still sullen and covered with dread. "Anyway, seeing your lively and beautiful face makes me feel relieved from the presence of this monster." He eyed Blue with his eyes glimmering in rage. "I couldn't forget what he did yesterday to my team."

"I can't take sides from either the both of you, since what you did both was offensive for me. Anyway, I'm not as harsh as Blue but I would still keeping an eye on you." Celina said with a tight stare.

Pelvin chuckled, he stared at Celina who went away first. "Well of course." He then glared piercingly upon Celina's back with a smirk. He eyed the sword hanging on Celina's waist, his blade was taken yesterday when he was spared by the monster. Right now he had no weapon within his reach, unless he gets close to her.

When Celina swiveled his head and stared back at him, he quickly transformed his malicious stare into a casual one.

Celina gazed at him incredulously, her lips were tight, feeling uneasy, she jogged close to Blue's side.

Pelvin sighed. "I have to wait when she's defenseless, when she's away from the man." He said quietly under his breath.
