For everything, there is a season. A right time exclusively given for every intention under heaven.
A time to exit from your mother's womb, and a time to enter eternity,
a time to sow and a time to deracinate,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to throw stones and a time to gather stones,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to discard,
a time to tear and a time to sew,
a time to keep silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

It was in the 19th century when 'Dribs and Drabs' were first recorded to be used in the same idiom. Both meaning in a small sporadic quantity or amount. The terminology 'Dribs' later on succumb into a decline of frequent usage from the mass. The same predicament also befell 'Drabs,' but fortunately, the idiom 'Dribs and Drabs,' that means little by little, still survives and can still be considered relevant up to this day.
