Chapter 3 - Chapter 02

It's been a week since thee talk with Isaac. He did tell me that I only have seven days to think about his offer. Since he knows how his father adores me, a lot may I add, he asked me to be his personal assistant slash best friends forever. What could go wrong, right? I mean, we've known each other since we're kids and it's not like he asked me to marry him.

That would be absurd! I shiver at the thought. No way in hell would I ever accept that.

And speaking of the devil, he just messaged me to come down my penthouse so he wouldn't have to climb to the twentieth floor. Talk about being lazy.

With my favorite red stilettos, I went out of the elevator. I spotted his luxury car just outside of the building and he's casually leaning into the hood of his car. I strutted my way to where he was. When he saw me, he immediately stood up straight and flashed me his oh-so-playboy smile.

He whistled and eyed me from head to toe.

I snapped my fingers. "Eyes here, Genova."

"Dont get me wrong, you look so hot but—"

"I know." I cut him off.

He gave me an amused smile. "Okay, but are you sure you're going to wear that?"

I looked at myself in the reflection of his car. I am wearing a red, long, and fitted off-shoulder dress with a slit on both sides.

"What is wrong with what I'm wearing?" I asked him.

"It's just that…" He trailed off.

"Oh, whatever, Dathral. It's not like we're going hiking or something. Plus, it's always important to bring class every time."

He chuckled. "Okay, Ms. Zaldesa. Whatever you say." He opened the passenger seat door and turned around to go to the driver seat. I went inside his car and closed the car door.

I didn't recognize the place we're heading. All I know is that I can hear a band playing from the distance. We passed by the receptionist who was so welcoming and I think it was because Isaac is with us. I just rolled my eyes when she sweetly smiled at him and guided us to a table.

My jaw dropped when I saw the view of the beach. The view's really pretty with Indian tents that have ferry lights. Not too far from us, I can see the band playing. I stopped and Isaac was quick to notice that. He laughed at me. "I told you so."

"You didn't tell me that we're going to the beach!" I said in an accusing tone.

I can't place my feet at the sand because the tip of my stilettos will just sink. I glared at him as he just laughed and walked towards me. And before I know it, he's now carrying me bridal style. My eyes grew wide and I shrieked.

"What the hell is wrong with you?! Put me down!" I yelled.

"Can you stop squirming? You're not exactly the light one."

"Did you just say I'm fat?!"

"What? No!"

I noticed that people we're looking at us. I faced Isaac's shoulder in embarrassment. He, then, let out a soft laugh— amused at my situation.

"It's not funny!" I argued.

"It is."

I furrowed my eyebrows and pouted. "It's not."

We arrived at the shack and I quickly hoisted myself up and dusted the invisible particles in my dress. A hostess guided us to our table. There are a lot of people—a mix of foreigners and some locals and the band in the middle.

I saw the main vocalist watching us with an amused look. I raised my brow at him and rolled my eyes and then turned to face Isaac who is looking at the menu.

"Why are we here? You could've just chose a fancy restaurant near my place." I said annoyed.

"The view and the breeze here is fantastic! You can't experience that in the city."

I gave him a mocking look and got the menu he handed to me. "I'll get the Vegan Pasta Alfredo and a glass of Cranberry juice."

"Right away."

I closed the menu and handed it to the waiter. I clasp both of my hands and averted my attention to the band playing. Unfortunately for me, the vocalist ended his song and winked at my direction so I'm assuming it was for me. I creased my forehead at him when he was walking towards our table. I took my eyes off of him and faced Isaac who was looking at questioningly.

"Why do you look so uncomfortable?" He asked.

Before I could reply, the vocalist patted Isaac's shoulders. "What's up, Dathral?"

I raised my brow. Do they know each other?

"What's up to you too, Neo." They hi-fived each other.

"Care to…" He signaled to me.

"Oh! Kathrina this is Neo. Neo this is Kathrina."

I shook his hand. "Do you have the hots for me?"

An amused smile played in his lips.

"Don't mind her. She's, uh… too confident." Said, Isaac.

Neo laughed. "Nah. I was just shocked to see Isaac with a woman and not a girl."

"I'll take that as a compliment," I replied to Neo and then turned to sarcastically smile at Isaac. "What a playboy."
