"Lio! You bastard child!! How dare you keep me waiting you ignorant brat!," My mother screamed. I stepped backwards, struggling to get away.
"NO LEAVE ME ALONE! LET ME GO!," I cried, shaking violently, gripping my chest as it fills with pain.
"LIO WAKE UP SNAP OUT OF IT!," I heard a voice yell, but it was so far away. I struggled, clawing at my chest, the thirst for blood glowing in my mother's beautiful eyes. I looked around for something, anything.
"DAMMIT WHY WONT YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!," I screamed, hitting my back on the wall. My mother gripped my shoulders, slamming my back into the wall. When she did, I could see Lyra, her beautiful scarlet eyes gleaming with pain as I watched myself freeze her, kicking her body over.
"You murdered one.. Who else will you kill?," My mother demanded with a cry, her eyes slowly changing colors, her skin getting paler.
"NO ONE MOMMY!! LEAVE ME ALONE PLEASE!," I screamed, trembling even more.
"Will it Be him? Your boyfriend?," She demanded. I shook my head, yelping as once more I'm drowned in a vision, seeing a blood thirsty grin on my face as I slit Magnus's throat.
"THAT WILL NEGER COME TO PASS!," I roared, clenching my chest. Suddenly, instead of my mother holding me to the wall, it's a silver haired version of myself, cold dead eyes almost as lifeless as my mother's when she was arrested.
"Wont it though?," He demanded, the mirror version of me.
"Lyras death was so exotic.. So... Beautiful.. She wasnt even someone you cared about... What death do you suppose you'll allow your darling to have?," He asked, his eyes flashing. His right eye flashed, turning into a dark violet.
"You know what's to come dont you?,"
I sat up in my bed, clenched my sweat soaked shirt at the chest, panting heavily. Magnus sat st the foot of my bed, Michelle standing behind him with a fear ridden gaze.
"Hey.. Are you ok?," Magnus asked, touching my shoulder lightly. I nodded, looking at Michelle.
"Can I talk to Magnus?," I asked. She nodded, exiting the room and shutting the door behind her. Magnus moved closer. I look around, before looking at Magnus.
"Dont make this weird..," I hissed, before yanking off my shirt, tossing it to the side. He turned red glancing away. I looked down at my chest, resisting the urge to scream.
On my chest, a single black mark glowed silver, faded at the edges. I touched it, surprised to know physical response. No pain.
"What the hell is that?," Magnus demanded. I gulped, touching it.
"The aftermath of my improper use of power," I reached up, touching my right eye.
"As I feared, there is an Afteraffect of freezing time. I knew there was something wrong with that pain.. The pain I'd feel freezing time. Every time I freeze time, I give up a bit of my humanity," I responded, unfreezing my right eye. I opened it, letting Magnus look into its depth.
"Oh god... Lio what the hell have you done... Your eye..," He mutters, almost at a loss for words.
"Its turning purple.. Isnt it?," I asked, looking away. He nodded, looking at me.
"How did you find out about it?," He demanded.I rose moving away from the bed. I shrugged, pulling on a button up shirt, leaving my new tattoo on display.
"I had a dream about it. If I continue to freeze time, or use extreme amounts of my power, then bit by bit, the demand for full access of my power will burn away my humanity. That's the price of having this power Magnus. I got ice because the vaccine knew I was cold hearted. ," I turned, casting him a glance over my shoulder.
"Should we be surprised?," I demanded. He looked down, tapping his fingers lightly.
"What Magnus?," I demanded turning. He looked up.
"You remember your promise right?," He asked, standing up. I turned the whole way, noting his position. I thought back, the expression on his face as he begged me to promise him I wouldnt kill again.
"Yeah I remember.. Its the reason I didnt kill Flare for what he did... Its also what almost got Michelle killed," I retorted, putting my hands in my pockets. He stepped forward, putting his hands on my shoulders.
"Please dont overuse your power anymore... I dont want this for you.. Because I know you are more than your urges... You are more than that bloodlust you carry around and I know you have it. I have seen it time and time again. Please.. No more doing that to yourself," He pleaded. I shook him off, tossing him a glance over my shoulder.
"Why should you care? I'm just a pathetic weakling. In this case if I remain a weakling it's because you cant risk your reputation," I reprimanded. I looked at my palms.
"Regardless of the cost, this power is my own. I will use it as I see fit," I added.
"Dammit Lio!," Magnus yelled, spinning around and slamming me into the wall. I avoid eye contact.
"Look at me...," He ordered. I clenched my fist, the tips of my fingers freezing over.
"Let go of me Magnus Branwell," I seethed. Slowly the frost continued up my hand, almost reaching my fist now.
"No," Magnus answered. I looked up, locking eyes with him.
"Then freeze," I shout confidently. I watched as instantaneously, both arms instantly froze over. He stepped backwards, his eyes widening with shock. I tapped my right eye, creating a frozen eyepatch for myself.
"Be happy I didnt freeze you entirely. You can melt yourself out," I growled, turning away.
"Lio... LIO STOP!," He roared. I stopped as an intensifying heat erupted in my room, I turned, seeing Magnus lowering his head.
"You're a sensitive coward you know that? Emotions are what make us human. Emotions are what make us strong. Maybe that's why you've never been able to beat me," He hissed. I bit my cheek, feeling my hands start trembling. Magnus cocked his head.
"Because you run away from your emotions! You didnt know how to deal and that's why your a psycho. Not because of your mom. Not because of me. But because of the fact you chose to live a life like this instead a life of happiness, where you know how to deal with pain," He glowered, the fire burning all the way up his arms, scorching the sleeves of his shirt. He locked eyes with me, and for the first time ever, I saw the amount of madness lying behind his ego.
"If you want to change my mind, beat my ass into the ground and let me see how powerful you truly are. But without emotions.. You'll burn under the heat of my flames," He howled. I touched my chest, feeling vital energy pulsing through my finger tips. I looked down. I made a promise... This isnt me..
I stopped, and before Magnus could do anything, I lunged, grabbing his hands and putting their extreme heat to my chest, burning the tattoo I got. I screamed in pain, my whole body burning with agony.
"Lio!," He cried, the fire turning off instantly. I stumble backwards, falling to the floor, my vision darkening.
"LIO NO!," He yelled. I closed my eyes, expecting the feeling of my head bashing the wall or the floor. Instead, I got the feel of a hard chest, and a pair of hands on my shoulder. I open my eyes, glancing up to see Magnus. His face was twisted with pain, and a drop of blood fell from his ear. He must've hit his head pretty hard.
"You're ok... Unluckily, the tattoo is still there. Happy? You hurt your self for no reason," He reprimanded, closing his eyes. I shook my head.
"No.. I needed a reminder of what true pain was.. I needed out of my head. You gave me that.. Thank you," I murmured, letting my eyes shut. I satup, ignoring the pain. I slowly turned, sitting on my knees as I face Magnus.
"Move forward... Just a little bit," I ordered. He nodded, reluctantly scooting closer. I reach behind his head, freezing the point of injury. Unlike every other time before now, the ice was a beautiful blue.. The way it always shouldve been. I smile, letting him rest his head back.
"Once that melts, and it will pretty soon, you'll be all healed up... Good as new," I promised. He nodded, leaning forward and pressing his head to my shoulder.
"Thank you," He whispered almost breathlessly. I nodded, moving back a little. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath.
"Magnus.. I-," I stopped, seeing his dark blue eyes opened, locking on me with little to none intensity, his gaze almost heartwarming.
"I-," I'm cut off as Michelle barges in holding a large frying pan, staring at me and Magnus on the floor, her eyes wide.
"I heard yelling and banging.. I thought someone broke in and was attacking you... Umm, what's going on here?," She demanded, looking between the two of us. I shot to my feet turning red.
"Its nothing mom, please get out!," I hissed with embarrassment. She smirked, stepping out slowly.
"Ahh, I see," She winks, her face turning into that of a mother almost demanding their child to have romance.
"Keep it PG," She whispered. I slammed my door breathlessly, turning away and blushing. I'm dead. I'm so dead.
"Lio.. What were you going to say?," Magnus asked, standing up now. I looked down at my hands. He deserves better. So, I swallowed down my pride and gave him the most fake smile I could muster.
"I am hungry. Let's go get something to eat," I lied. He shrugged, and nodded.
"It isnt that hard to say man," He grumbled, before walking out of my room. I looked down, something in me feeling twisted. I got the sudden urge to cry.
But, I took a deep breath, and followed him out of my room.
Flare.
"I am willing to offer half a mil, on this boys head. I want him dead. I want his head!," I roared down to the rows upon rows of Silverclaw Gang members. I raise a paper in my hand.
"I have created a list of the group I've deemed worthy of this task. If this order is carried out, each member of this selective Task force, will be granted half a mil, each. Let's see... Claire Hollins!! Known Amplifier! Diego Fernadez, Gang name, DarkWinds. And Finally, Last but not least, Lyra Raymond. My special Protege."
I watch as two people storm up onto the stage. Behind them, a strange Robot looking figure. Her armor is black, her eyes glowing scarlet. I'm not surprised.
"Everyone else you know what to do!," I roared. They all scampered off.
"Finally I can move again... At last.. It sucks I dont have an actual body though," Lyra complained. Without a face I couldn't tell her expression. I shrugged.
"Be happy I spared your life and made my pawns fix you up. I let you do it your way. Now, were doing it my way. Listen up, because I wont repeat myself again."
Ryan
I throw my clothes into my bags hurriedly, panting heavily. This is not how it ends... I sprinted out my room, zipping up my bag. I passed two familiar bodies, feeling my eyes well up with tears.
"Aww... Where are you going?," A loud voice cried. I yelped as suddenly My leg is grabbed. I turned, seeing my mother's corpse rise with a psycho grin. I kicked her hand off, crushing it under my boot, yet she still continued to rise.
"What sort of sick power is this?," I demanded, stepping away from the corpses rising to grab me.
"Their my puppets... As you will soon be too!," The voice howled. I turned, but I never made it to the door way.
