With a start, Norman woke up 'Woah I just had the weir...AAH!,' Norman frantically thought.
'So this isn't a dream' he concluded while flailing his arms and legs. Stopping, for the time being, he decided to observe his surroundings which weren't much to begin with. He was in a dark windowless room where the only light was coming from a crack in the door, the only furnishings in the room where his cradle and the still bloody mat on which someone seemed to be lying on.
Although he still had reservations about his potential reincarnation he decided to roll with the punches and make the most of what he had. 'Even if I was reincarnated why does the place have to be such a d-' at that moment the loudest sound he had heard in his one day of existence on this world came from his stomach.
The pain was so unbearable he started to wail louder than a police siren waking up both his mother and his father, who was in another room.
"The baby must be hungry hush now baby Maddox mommy's going to feed you" Meri which was short for Meredith whispered to her baby while getting ready to feed him.

Two hours later. After being fed Norman who had now found out his name was Maddox finally acknowledged that this was his new reality. hellbent on keeping his word to god he marked down his new mother as the most important person to him right now as if she died he would die. Maddox also wanted to learn as much as he could about his new world and family.
after setting his priorities he decided to stealthily find out snippets of information which he would learn from his mother and his father.
The first thing he decided to find out were the names of his mother and father. He soon found out his mother's and father's names during one of his feeding sessions. His mother told him his father's name was Howard and hers was Meri which was short for Meridith. he was able to deduce that they were the lowest of the low because of the lack of even a brought, last name.
the next thing he secretly learned was that the kingdom they lived in was the Antler Kingdom. The antler kingdoms were one of the 5 known recognized kingdoms on the continent of Bangala. Since his father was the only learned person in the house which he thought was suspicious but shelved he tried to get closer to him.
Just like that Two years Passed in the household.
"Fada Fada!" Maddox yelled in his fake baby voice which was easy to fake thanks to his two missing front teeth which he had knocked out in his first year of this world secretly on purpose.
"Yes, what is it, Maddox you know that your father has to go and chop wood for the winter".
"Fada I wan go wi you," Maddox said feeling very confident in his baby talk.
"No, I don't trust you anymore little one, you remember what happened last time," Howard said shuddering after thinking about the time he thought his son was dead after he ran into a tree while learning to walk.
"I WAN GO!" Maddox yelled and started stomping as if he was going to throw a tantrum.
"don't try my patience son I won't hesitate to spank you" at that moment Maddox thought back to when he couldn't walk for a week after eating with his mouth open at dinner.
shuddering he responded to his father "Okay fada I just go wi mama" as Maddox ran back to the only room in their mud hut his father chuckled and walked out into the forest surrounding the hut.
When Maddox reached the room (which was only separated from the rest of the house by a cloth hung in the doorway) he knocked on the wall and went in after hearing his mother answer.
"What do you need sweetie," Meri asked her son Maddox inquisitive.
"Fada told me to come and sit wi you until he comes back" Maddox spoke like a baby although at the same time he was inwardly laughing to himself at how easy it was to fool these people who thought he was a simple-minded child.
It was at times like these where Maddox would ask questions about the world outside him and his parent's forest that they were living in. Today was the day Maddox decided to ask his mom if he would be living in the forest forever."No sweetie" she laughed "your father and I decided that once you turn 12 which is when you can legally choose what profession to join we will take you to the city to decide". Maddox was intrigued by the way people chose their professions in this world.
"So does that mean tha fada chose to be a woodcutter?" when Maddox said this his mother's face showed regret even though it lasted barely more than a second Maddox had still noticed, and noted it.
"No sweetie your father didn't choose woodcutting as a profession," she said patting his head and pretending the regretful look on her face had never been there.
ignoring this fact Maddox decided to ask her the question he had been wanting to ask for two years. Are there any professions for fighting?
