Hugo stealthily left the kitchen and walked into a corridor. It was shrouded by darkness since it lacked windows to let in the moonlight.
The entire building was unnerving. It was dull and quiet, with cobwebs and broken mana lamps hanging from the ceiling. It seemed to have been abandoned for ages.
Taking advantage of the darkness, Hugo moved quickly to the stairs leading to the basement of the building. He soon heard Captain Izad and his party unlocking the front door.
"They are not even trying to remain concealed by staying quiet," Hugo Informed Freya telepathically. "It seems they're quite confident in the results of their raid."
"You can't blame them," the fairy replied. "The Captain's subordinates killed everyone, but you sneaked in with your unusual spell. I'm still wondering how the ancient god Thanatos came up with such a low-consumption ultra-stealth spell. It's simply mind-boggling." She sighed.
