TANNER didn't know what came into his mind to leave. He should be with his friends and Leila...
Leila.
He's supposed to be there to make sure she's fine or if he can do something to help her. But no. He is in his car right now, driving off to Jasper's Apartment Building at night. He arrives at 10 in the evening and there should be just a few people.
It's crazy for him to do this but, he's actually gonna do the game himself without any plan at all.
He doesn't even know what he'll do if he does the game successfully. So literally, he has no plan at all, not even a single bit. But he's now determined. There were many times when his friends tried to stop him and so he eventually forgot about doing it, but this time nothing's gonna stop him. Not the security guards, not the people who live in the building, not his friends nor Leila.
But if in case anything bad happens, he texted Alexander his whereabouts.
He enters the elevator with no one in it finally and he proceeds into doing the game instructions. As he's in the middle of the game, by the second time he's on the second floor, he feels the elevator shake a little and heard a woman's voice laughed and the lights flickered a few times. But that didn't stop him to go to the 10th floor, then the 5th.
As he arrived on the 5th floor, at the other end of the hall he sees a woman in black. She was far, but it definitely creeped the heck out of him. Just then, the woman dashed towards him. Panic sinks in as he presses the close button multiple times. The woman is getting nearer.
And nearer...
And nearer.
The elevator doors have successfully closed, the woman screamed at this. Tanner tried to even out his breath but it was impossible when he realizes that the elevator is going to the 10th floor even if he didn't press anything yet.
But that just means that there is no going back.
The elevator door opens and the darkness immediately greeted Tanner. He suddenly felt a rush of nervousness but that didn't make him coward down. He steps forward and exited the elevator. He felt the elevator door close behind him and so he continued, not knowing where to go. He just took a couple of turns, not really seeing where he was going. It was dark though it is enough for him to see a little bit.
He continued walking into like a maze and ended up in a dead-end. At the very end is a blood-red door. Curiosity led him to go walk towards the door and opened it without any difficulties. He walks inside the room. The lights were flickering and the room is a complete mess. But he figured out what room he just walked in to.
It's like an office. There are a lot of papers scattered, cabinets, and also a fireplace. Or most accurately, the woman's lair.
Tanner looks through the papers on the table in the middle of the room. He immediately got what is written on the papers.
"What the? A diary? This woman has a diary?" He mumbles to himself as he continues to scan more of the papers on the table.
It wasn't enough for Tanner and so he tried to dig more up by the shelves, struggling with the amount of light he only has but still tries harder. Then he finally found a folder. The folder is slightly different from the other folders on the shelf.
He opened this and started reading.
"Day 1
The Lord had just locked me here in The Otherworld. Well, I guess it's okay. Though I'm not human anymore, I at least have some company. It's better than being with Lucifer. I can't stand him and I want to try to be good again so I hid the apple necklace in the red box that is locked so that he won't come and get me. I wanna be alive again. And I will convince The Lord.
Day 13
It's great being here in The Otherworld so far. My fellow souls made me like their "ruler". I actually felt great with this - being superior and all. But wait 'til The Lord see that he made a mistake for sending me to hell in the first place...
Day 99
I'm not happy anymore. I don't like it here. This is not enough for me. I want more than this. I don't deserve this..."
As Tanner continued to read, noticing that the handwriting became messier and messier.
"Day 313
B!TCH I WANNA GO OUT WHY ON EARTH THIS $#@%! HUMANS ARE SO WEAK THEY ALWAYS DIE. I WANNA F^CKING GET OUT OF HERE.. I AM H UNGRY .. FOR HUMAN .. SOULS ! NEED T O POSSESS HUMAN TO G ET OUT !!
Day 666
FINALLY! After 300 years of being in this sh*tty world with no humans to possess, I finally felt something different. This human feels so different from all the other humans. But then I think he is very smart that he had closed the door before I even went in the elevator on the 5th floor and th e hell kn ow s what h e did for him not to go to the 10tH fLoor and went baCk to the first floor. But then some oTHer humans decided to visit not long after him .. . tHen I finally have A pLan. .. ....
a nd I think this is it . . ."
Tanner felt the shivers that traveled by his spine because he realizes..
It was him. He is the person the woman is talking about on the recent entry. This woman needs a human body that she can possess to blend into the real world, but she never got the chance since most of them died and some had successfully escaped. And he did the elevator game correctly.
He actually lied to his friends that the game didn't work on him. It actually did. But he immediately closed it before that woman even came in and luckily he was smart enough to press the first floor and then other floor numbers for him to not go up to the tenth floor. And he knows that the "other humans" this woman is saying is June and Leila. With this, Tanner has a conclusion.
"She doesn't need Leila. She'll kill Leila and/or June to get me."
Just then, he heard loud footsteps that are getting near and near. Tanner walks back until his back softly hits the wall as he tries to even out his breath and calms himself down.
A loud bang was heard as the door opens. He finally has a closer look at this woman. It totally scared him which is really serious since he doesn't get scared easily with all this and all that, but now he's definitely scared. Knowing that he and his friends' lives are on the line.
The woman starts to walk towards Tanner. Tanner didn't move and the woman smirked at this.
"Not gonna beg for merrrrrrcy?" The woman speaks in this scary tone that sent more shivers around Tanner's body.
But he remains still in his position, "No."
The woman's smirk got wider as she slowly walks closer to him until only a ruler is apart from them.
"You're so dumb." The woman said and then suddenly goes into Tanner's body.
But Tanner knows it. And if this woman had a plan, he has one too. It's risky, but it is his only chance to save his friends.
Once the spirit is inside him, Tanner is trapped inside and the soul is now controlling him. Of course, he won't let the woman take control of his body fully.
"Because if my body can be able to hold this woman's powerful spirit, then my body is not the only one that is strong - I am too," Tanner thought.
And with this, Tanner concentrated hard to try and trap this spirit inside of his body instead of him. Slowly, it is working and he can hear the woman screaming, "No!"
He successfully trapped the woman's soul instead of his. He quickly went over to the first red box he saw, but he started getting weak. The woman is trying to stop him from doing something.
But Tanner is very determined and continued walking, still trapping the woman's spirit and not letting her control his movements. Then he reaches the red box and opens it by using the key which is just beside it. He opens this and the apple necklace is revealed.
"No!! Doooon't yOuuuuu dAAaaaRreee!!!" He hears the woman inside him scream but he didn't listen and gets the necklace and quickly throws it to the fireplace before the woman can even control him.
The apple necklace soon created a portal, and with this, a slim tall man comes out of it. And he was definitely familiar to Tanner even though it is just his first time seeing him. Well, probably everyone does...
The woman comes out of Taehyung's body which made Taehyung fall down and went by the nearest wall he can lean on as he watches the scene in front of him unfold.
"L-lucifer!" The woman cried in horror.
"Well well Lilith, my darling. So you decide to open the portal again. Miss me?" Lucifer says with a smirk.
Lilith, the woman, is now shaking in fear. Taehyung found it odd since a minute ago she was the one smirking.
"Never! I hate you!!"
"Oh, darling but you crave for me. You miss me even if you hate me. You will always be the Queen of Hell my darling. No matter what you do, you will always be."
At this, Tanner already get what's happening and slowly got up. Trying to not let their attention divert to him. He slowly crawls behind the woman.
"I will never be yours."
"But you already are." Tanner put all the strength he has left together and pushed the woman and Lucifer towards the portal.
He hears a faint scream from the woman saying, "no" as the portal closes.
Tanner catches his breathing to calm him down, hoping that all he did was worth it. Once he has recovered, he slowly stands up and walks back to the elevator which he found in no difficulties at all.
He gets in the elevator he used not long ago and did the ritual without any hindrances. He finally reaches the first floor and walks out of it, pretending as if nothing happened.
He's about to exit the apartment building when,
"Look back."
He hears something whisper from behind.
"Look back~"
As of curiosity, he looks back to the elevator. His panic arose once again when he sees spirits in that elevator. Next thing he knew, he was in the elevator once again and darkness engulfed him.
