"So, I see that you claimed your domain successfully, my King," Flinn said as he sat down to my right. "I'm glad to see you, your advisor, and your queen walked away unscathed."
"That means I can play with you two more than giving you a little taste of alcohol," Winnifred said with a smirk as she lifted her hand.
"We can do that later," I said at my seat, still holding Aili's hand, "right now, we need to talk about our plans for this war. I do have a mortal that is willing to help us in this war if we ever need it."
"Who is it," Liliane asked
"It's the new American President," Aili answered for me. "Before we had that meeting, Liz was talking to Cliff about some things, and one of them was about her possibly being King."
"I told him about the possibility of there being a war. He offered to help," I began. "He also mentioned something about Aili and I being spokespeople for the project. Now that I mention it, we should pay him a visit about this so we can keep him up to date with everything that's happened."
Aili smiled softly, "Yeah, I'd like to see him without being in a hospital."
"So, what do you want to do with our current situation," Liliane asked, getting us back on track as I started to think.
'What are you thinking about Liz,' Aili asked in my head
'I think we should keep an eye on all domains. Let Cliff know so he can be prepared for everything. While we wait for something to happen, you and I should train as should the demigods,' I answered as I saw her smile out of the corner of my eye
'Tell them that,' she said, squeezing my hand reassuringly
I sighed, "I think we each should keep an eye on our domains," I began, "After Aili and I fill Mr. Lee with everything that has happened. We should train. There is no point for us to blend in with the mortals to go back to college and take that government job since their side knows that Samuel is dead."
Liliane thought for a minute, "You can still fit in the crowd," she began, "most of the monsters go by scent, and you can sense your domain no matter where you are. We can turn you back to who you originally were, and we'll provide you with the protection if you need it on top of Sam and the secret service. Yes, the enemy knows your name and may know where you go to school, but it's best if you still grow in knowledge and being. If you insist Aili being with you through everything, then you need to think of what fighting style you two would like to use."
"Who's going to teach them while they're at college," Hartwell asked, "we can't all train them while keeping an eye on our domains."
"I was getting there, brother," Liliane began, eyeing Hartwell, who only shrunk back into his throne. "I think it would be best if the four of them saw how their guards fight and choose which style suits them better."
"The four of them," Rachel asked as Liliane looked at the healing goddess.
"Yes," the goddess of wisdom answered nonchalantly
"They aren't the only ones being trained after all," Moore said. "If the queen's fighting, so should her advisor, and we always have the King's advisor fighting by their side so they can be brought back from the Lightning State."
"Sam, Shanda," I began, and the two appeared from between Aili and I's thrones, and I smiled. "What do you say about training us how to fight and showing us your fighting styles while we are in college?"
"It would be an honor to teach the King and Queen how to fight alongside their advisors," Sam answered as she and Shanda bowed.
I sighed as Aili asked a question that I forgot about, "Will you two be the guards for our respective relationships even though we're part of royalty?"
"Every guard is tasked to be with their soulmate pairing for life no matter if it's the president, an emperor, or even you two," Mic said as I grinned. "So, they'll be with their respective pairings until both of you die."
"So yes, Aili," Sam began, "I will still be with you two."
"I still can't believe Liz convinced Samuel to change his mind about that strike thing," Mareah said as the lions around her throne started chasing one another.
"But I can see why," Waverley began a little more cheerful than his introduction, "she is kind but forceful. She doesn't raise her voice or gives orders unless the situation calls for it."
"I see that too," Rachel said, "she and Allison will be peaceful leaders but strong."
I grinned, "That's how I plan to rule," I began, then looked at Aili, "I think we can both agree that violence isn't always the answer, and neither is arguing."
"If you don't mind me asking," Waverley began, "why aren't you two a fan of yelling or arguing?"
I sighed as I looked at Aili, who nodded, "I'll explain my story first, but it may cover some of the details of her father as well," she said as I smiled. "My father always solved everything with yelling. He thought that was the only way to get most points across, and it usually scared me whenever he stormed out of the room."
She then looked at me and nodded, squeezing my hand in reassurance, "Many of you may know of my father's most recent doings," I began as half the room nodded. "But before he attempted to murder any of my lovers, he would be like Aili's father, only more violent. Rather than storm out of the room, he'd shot me with insult after insult. He got violent to me only once, and when I came home to my mother, she threatened to send him to court the one time I came with bruises. He'd push my mother to get his points across while yelling and shaking her," I sighed as I looked around the throne room. "In short, he was more mentally abusive than physically; he was the kind of person to try and change another person's mind."
"Why did he set Aili as the target and not you," Hartwell asked as I finished, "I'd go for the problem child."
I smiled before looking at Aili once more, "His family is the kind of people who are homophobic without knowing the meaning of the words homophobia and transphobia. You can't blame them all on how close they follow the book of their religion. I don't know why he thought that killing Aili was the best option considering I still wouldn't be his picture-perfect child, but I'm glad she survived when I didn't warn her in enough time."
"You couldn't warn her any sooner," Sam said from between us
"If I had said wait instead of her name, she wouldn't have been shot," I began, "if I kept holding the phone, then I would've gotten to your message quicker."
"Yes, but you still saved my life by giving her your first order to take me to the hospital," Aili said as she reached over to rub my shoulder. "You redeemed yourself by urging Sam to take me there," she added. "Whatever mistake you made, you made up for it with that order even though you didn't know that it was powerful until later."
The throne room was silent as a stray tear went down my cheek, "Thanks, Aili," I said with a grin. "I haven't had much time to be thankful that you were alive."
"You two are so cute," Mic said, breaking the tension, "I think we should give you two some more time to yourselves since you haven't had much of it yet."
I cleared my throat, "Let's conclude this meeting first," I said as I looked up at the throne room once more. "Do we all agree on what was discussed," I asked, "for those who are in favor, raise your hands," I didn't need to continue because everyone in the throne room raised their hands in approval. "I conclude this meeting," I said, then everyone disappeared. "I wasn't expecting that to go so well," I said in disbelief as I looked at Aili. "So, you aren't mad at me for not warning you fast enough?"
"Why would I be," she asked, "unless you could've magically kept me from moving, there's nothing else that you could've done. You still saved me no matter what. I'm still here," she said before grinning.
"Thanks, A," I said with a grin as I rubbed my eyes, "what do you say to see a president?"
Aili's grin widened, "You bet," she said, bouncing in her seat, "but how do we go from being giants?"
"You will return to your normal size once you teleport to your desired location or if you'd rather go by foot. Next, imagine your normal height, and it will change," Sam said as she appeared in the middle of the room with her wife. "I had already talked to Cliff, and he says that you two can come to the White House to fill him in with everything."
I grinned as I stood up from my seat and walked to Sam feeling myself shrink with each step. "What would happen if we didn't have someone as awesome as you," I asked before hugging her. "Thank you, Sam," I added as she returned the hug.
"Anytime, Liz," she said as I parted from her, "I think there's someone else that would like a hug."
After she said this, I turned to see Aili standing a few feet from me, "Of course I do," she said with a grin before jumping on me. "We didn't get any morning cuddles," she added into my shoulder.
"We'll get cuddles later," I began, "I promise," I added before kissing her on the forehead, "but first a visit to the White House."
