Chapter 7

Title: Learning how the world works...

Alex looks at the old man, who is already dead and his eyes have no life in them, he can't help but rethink the way the old man acted. 'You also shouldn't have called me young master like in some xianxia novel. With that you also gave yourself away that you are from the Wayne Kingdom. Only they have people who allow little brats to act like self important little sh*ts.'

That is true, even Nobles in other kingdoms wouldn't dare act like that. After all, if word got out, they would think that what is stopping that Noble from doing that terrible act on them. If enough people move the bakers, smiths, farmers and all of them will lose business and that would pretty much ruin the Noble's lands. Of course shady things happen behind the scenes… but no normal person needs to know that.

'But in the Wayne Kingdom, peasants are treated like livestock, their lives have no value in the eyes of the Nobles. So people are used to young masters acting like little sh*ts. And that is one of the reasons the Wayne Kingdom is the weakest human kingdom and it's almost in ruin.' Thinks Alex as he opened a sewer entrance in the alley.

He picked up the old man's dead body, and threw the body in the sewer. He knows that the guards wouldn't care about another homeless man dying.

He knows how the guards in this city work. They are pretty good at doing their job… unless it is a homeless person who no one cares about… even if they find the body they will just simply think he either bothered the wrong person or he got stabbed by another homeless man… no way will they think little Alex, the six year old did anything bad...

Alex then started cleaning any traces of anything happening in the alley. As he did so, he started thinking about the Wayne Kingdom again. 'Revolts, assassinations, the Royal Family's influence weakening… that all plays a role in the soon to be downfall of the Wayne Kingdom.

Of course that is only if one of the Heroes does nothing about it… currently in Magic Academy, exists the bastard son of the last King who was exiled from his home by the current king when the king before him died. Also Mikheil, the exiled prince, used to be a talentless scrub, but now he suddenly rosen to have heavenly talent. As he reached peak Rank 1 mage in just six months after joining the Magic Academy. Now that definitely sounds like a Main Character.'

But the Wayne kingdom is still going towards ruin, this is why having a King is not a stable ruling method, after all you only need one bad/mad king to ruin a whole country.

Also Alex got rid of some smelly clothes the old man had around. He knows that the old man is the Gungai City Branch Leader of the Blood Cult. How did Alex know that... Well in the game this Cult was an NPC subordinate of his Guild. Well the Blood Cult was a good subordinate in the game, but now in real life, they can't really give him any benefits. They are not included in his plans… so they will have to go away.

Anyway, he used to give the Blood Cult a lot of potions that made them stronger but also made them rampage. He used them to destabilise the Wayne Kingdom from within so the Wayne kingdom Hero would be preoccupied, he took advantage of that and killed the Hero's lover and framed the water hero to incite a fight between them, because he needed the Poison Hero (Wayne Kingdom Hero) to be injured so he could get something from him. That is how he got the Heavenly Poison Pearl.

He needed it for himself to be able to defeat the God of Poison so he could take his essence. And since back then he was the God of Ice, he couldn't physically manifest on the physical plane, and his avatar would be defeated by the Poison Hero… so Alex concocted the scheme.

He had a 65% chance of winning against the Poison God, without the Heavenly Poison Pearl.

But… with the Pearl that could detoxify all Poisons. Even though it obviously wouldn't be able to detoxify the poison of a God it would still weaken him a lot. So Alex would have an 80% chance of winning against the God of Poison.

Both heroes got significantly injured, Alex secretly killed the Poison Hero and took all of his items, heroes do have heaven defying luck so they have a lot of nice stuff.

Also no one came after him because no one knew who killed the hero. Many thought the hero died from injuries. Then he made Oliver a friend that was also an officer of his Guild as the new God of Poison.

There were only eight players who reached God level of power and two of them were in his guild so yeah that is why his Guild was the strongest, and his subordinates were the biggest earners in the game… though the earnings did mostly come from scamming rich players.

After taking care to not leave any evidence behind, Alex goes towards the wall at the end of the alley and he taps the bricks in a specific way and soon the bricks move backwards, it seemed quite strange at first sight, but Alex knew the general idea of how it worked so it wasn't that interesting to him as the secret entrance is opened.

He casually walks inside, and sees a tunnel with only torches as the source of light. The tunnel is made out of stone and seems to be moderately well kept.

Then the wall behind him automatically closes. This is the place that someone can officially get the Blood Mage or Blood Warrior secret classe in the game. Of course though Alex can easily get over that little hustle by using his knowledge of the game.

He makes sure no one is inside. But as he expected no one was, after all most of their activity is done at night.

As Alex goes along the tunnel counting his steps, he suddenly turns around to the side and touches the wall in there… he closes his eyes as the brick he touches sinks in the wall and he hears something click. Signaling the opening of a door, as the wall is pushed aside like a door.

Alex looks at this calmly and enters. Inside the room he sees a library with shelves full of books, about rituals and the darkest of spells… but Alex walks to a specific part of the library where he sees a small shelf compared to the size of the library.

In the shelf there are all kinds of Blood Spells and Blood KI Techniques. He goes to the Blood Mage section, and takes sixteen books from the shelf one by one and puts them on a small table that is close to the entrance, with a lamp on it. He lights the lamp and starts reading.

Even though he knew a lot of spells from the game, he still knows something crucial... real life is different from the game, Alex already noticed this… in the game you only had to say Fireball and the spell would be used, then you just wait for the cooldown, but in here, things are definitely harder, but also better, after all a player who never understood the spells would never could compare in skill to an NPC who learned it with blood and sweat… not like a player who just has to absorb a book and use some EXP to learn the spell and then waits for the timer to go to zero and… just like that he learned the spell.

Alex… even though he still has the game system on him… and he can still learn spells how the players used to learn it with the help of the gamer interface… but he wants to see if he can learn how the spell works and all that. Also since he has high Intelligence and his Perk that he got when his Intelligence went above ten, the perk will help him learn spells faster… but Alex also wants to see… how this world works.

…..

Just like this, three hours pass.

Alex has learned 17 new spells already, which to him it seems kind of more efficient than the game interface. After all, he also got a good understanding of each spell that he got. Also he can't help but be glad that his high intelligence is already so useful to him. He can see that the high memorisation speed that was impossible in the past, now it comes easily.

'I can't wait to see how it works when I have intelligence over twenty and start stepping in the Legendary Stage. I mean the reason why the players didn't take over this whole world, after all, when at the peak of its popularity there were over 60 million players in this game, but they never could take over the world. Even when hundreds of players stepped into the Legendary stage… they could never compete with the NPCs… it was all because of the intelligence stat that made the NPCs smarter. The players would be outsmarted by hundred year old gods and other types of monsters. I WANT TO FEEL THAT INTELLIGENCE.' Thinks Alex, excited for the future.

But even though his thought process is quite exciting, he still kept his face calm and emotionless.

He gets up from the chair and he feels the smell of the books and the tiredness on his body. These are some of the reasons that he knew that he wasn't in some kind of game simulation. After all no matter how good a simulation is. It can never replicate real life. Though if he truly was in a simulation if he wakes up he for sure would be getting rich from suing the game company.... but he is 200% sure that this is real… a game can NEVER simulate real life like this….

Also another reason that he thinks that this is not some type of simulation is because… it seems like his intelligence has truly become better especially with spell learning.

In the game you only had to absorb a book and wait a specific amount of time to learn it. But here Alex CAN actually use the book and read it.

Alex also has to understand the theory and details of a specific spell. Some people might have to practice with the spell. But Alex doesn't need to practice though because of his PvP knowledge and as long as he had mana he used spells nonstop in the game. So he can use them pretty skillfully.

*creak!*

Suddenly, he becomes full on alert as a creaking sound of the secret door opening can be heard...

AUTHOR NOTE;

The MC is also learning some things as he goes goes along too. After all, a game can never replicate the real life so some things from the game might not work even if he uses the Gamer Interface. Also... who else came in the secret base?.. find out in the next chapter of Drag- I mean The Game of A Blood Mage.

P.S: We also see a little what type of person and gamer the MC was in his first life.

P.P.S: The Wayne kingdom is pretty much wuxia land with people saying stuff like 'I your father' and other dumb sh*t like that. So it's also one of the weakst kingdoms due to revolts and such things. Gotta keep it logical (as much as you can in a fantasy world.)🤣

P.P.P.S: The MC is simply cautious, it doesn't mean that the game power balance is off or something like that. But... the MC likes to be prepared for every scenario.
