I got up went to the bathroom cleaned myself up and went downstairs . This time I found
Mom preparing break for me .
" Good morning Mom " I greeted her as I sat on the dining table .
" Good morning Troy " she greeted me with a smile.
I sat and I ate my breakfast then hugged mom good bye as she fixed my tie then I head to school.
I reached school entered the gate then went to class. While I was entering class I met Tess at the entrance.
" hey " she said with a nervous smile .
"Hey " I replied her.
" I would like to talk to you " she said nervously but looked serious. I was kind of confused , what did she want to talk to me about.
" Like right now " I asked .
" Nah not right now but any time " she said to me .
" Okay " I said
" Okay then we better get to class " she said then entered class swiftly.
I went to where I sit and again Jenny and Jerome had already come . I greeted Jenny with a " Hey " then fist bumped Jerome and settled for the lesson .
After the lesson was done the only thing that was in my mind was " What does she wanna tell me ? " .
" Hey Troy , Let's go and check if we qualified for the team " Jenny said removing me from my thoughts.
" Yeah let's go " I said to her following her . We left Jerome in class then went out of class.
" But you must have gotten in " I said to her as I was sure that she got in .
We reached the notice board and it was kind of crowded , Many kids were there trying to see if they were selected . So we decided to stand aside to wait until it was less crowded.
As we were standing there Tess and Ralph were passing , Ralph was holding Tess' shoulder . I looked at Tess and our eyes met we starred at each other for a while until she passed.
" it's now less crowded ... let's go and check " Jenny said to me as she dragged me by the hand to the notice board .
I searched my name and I was somehow nervous thankfully it was among those selected for the team . I felt at ease .
" I got in " she said in joy as she pulled me into a hug . I wasn't prepared for it but anyway she hugged me .
After a while she realized she had hugged me . she first cleared her throat . " Did ...you get in " she asked me hestatingly .
I smiled at her and said " Yeah "
" Well congratulations " she said putting her arms in her small waist.
" It says we should meet at the court today after lessons " she said to me .
I looked at the list and at the end of it were the words .
" Those who qualified should met up with the old team and there team trainers in the indoor basketball court both cheerleaders and the basketball players."
" Should we celebrate for making the team ?" I asked her.
" Nope not yet we aren't official members yet" she said in extreme amazement.
I looked at her and asked her .
" I thought you came for Tryouts because you wanted to see me trying out "
" Yes that is true ... but I would have been disappointed if I didn't get in ...and if I'm there in that team for cheerleaders I can keep an eye on Tess and tell you your next move ....so it's a win win " she said then smiled at me in satisfaction.
" Alright then we should go tell Jerome " I said to her .
she rolled her eyes and said " Aahhh do we have to."
" Yes ...we do " I said as I head to class as she followed me .
We reached class and Jerome was busy talking to Amanda .
We walked over there .
" Hey " Amanda said to me and Jenny.
" Hey Amanda " I replied but Jenny didn't .
" I better get back to my seat " Amanda said as she stood up .
" You do that " Jenny whispered but I'm the only one who heard her .
" See you at lunch time " Jerome said to her with a smile .
I looked over to Jenny but she looked really annoyed .
After Amanda was gone ,
" We got in " I said to Jerome but he didn't look interested .
" Oh congrats guys "he said after a while then gave us a fake smile .
" Never mind him " Jenny said to me .
The bell was sounded and the lesson started after long minutes of boredom it was finally over and it was time for lunch .
Me and Jenny decided not to go for lunch but
Jerome went out following Amanda .
" I think they are serious " I said to Jenny.
" Oh please ... he's always like that ... lying to girls and after he dumps them " Jenny said in anger . I was surprised by what I heard .
" Wow I didn't know he's like that " I said in surprise.
" you know nothing about him " she added.
I saw Tess she was looking at me again .
" Is it that serious what she wants to tell me " I said to myself. she then went outside of class .
" So anything new about your crush" Tess said as she noticed that I was starring at Tess who was leaving the room.
I remembered what happened to me in the supermarket and immediately smiled to myself.
" Hey chilly stop fantasising about her " Jenny said to me .
" Yeah something happened "I said with a smile still remebering her soft lips on mine .
" So go on tell me " Jenny said eager to know.
" Well...I was at the supermarket yesterday ..." I started " yeah and ..." Jenny said eager to know .
" I bumped into Tess...and well she was hiding from someone then she kissed me because they were about to see her " I told Jenny everything.
Her eyes grew wide open and she loudly said " What ? " in shock .
" Yap " I said to her .
she smiled and said in excitement " Yap that's what I'm talking about ... in a few weeks she will be yours " I was somehow confused by this statement .
" Wait ..what why in a few weeks "
She sighed " You know she still has a boyfriend " she said to me .
" So " I said
" she has to break up with him first .... dummy" she said giving me a simple blow on the shoulder .
" Oh ...that makes sense " I said realising it was true .
" You know what she said she wanna talk to me " I told Jenny.
" Really when " she asked in surprise .
" I'm not sure when "I said to her.
" Well then just prepare for anything " she said raising her shoulders .
I didn't get what she was trying mean .
Lunch time came to an end and then we went for the last lesson and this time Jerome and Amanda weren't in class . I knew they had gone somewhere together . I think they are madly in love with each other.
During this lesson Tess would suddenly look at me then she nervously looked away.
After the lesson me and Jenny were going to the Basketball court . Most of the kids had got out of class a few were there including Tess.
" I think she wants to talk to you now " Jenny whispered to me . I raised up my head only seeing Tess approaching me .
" You will find me at the basketball court or in the hallway if you don't take long " she whispered as she went away .
" Hey " Tess said to her as they by passed each other .
" Hey Tess " Jenny replied then went outside class.
" So can we talk "Tess said as she was twisting some of the tips of her hair .
