Devanie's POV

Everything seems like a fairytale, but all fairy tales don't have happy endings.
My Dad severely hurt his back when he fell down those stairs during his heart attack. The doctors have already treated him, but I'm still worried. As my dad was getting older he started developing problems in his health, he's on a steady line of recovery, but this heart attack could ruin all of that.
But I'm more worried about my mom, she's been handling the restaurant all on her own all while worrying about my dad. Since Safari and her husband, Josh, were in town they were helping my mom just to take some weight off her shoulders.
I haven't been able to get a hold of He Feng either. I thought we made up, but this time he seems different. He comes and goes all the time, but he isn't popping up like he used to.
It's bothering me.
"So, how's life?" I look up at Voya and she stared at me blankly. I felt like she already knew the answer. We were in the first period and were waiting for the teacher to arrive.
"It's been a ride of emotions lately. How about you?" I asked and she sighed. Her short pink hair was straightened and held back with black and white hairpins. She wore a white and black jumpsuit with matching shoes.
"I'm not sure actually, I feel on edge. Today, before school, Fia and I went and sat on the docks at the pier. He asked me what I was going to do after high school, I didn't know how to answer him, but he said after high school he wanted to spend his time with me. With the way things are with me, I don't know how it'll work." Her hazel eyes were met with mine for a brief moment before the teacher walked in.
That's right.
This is my last year of high school. What will I do when this is all over?
Should I go to college? Maybe start finding a job?
I want to answer, but I'm not so sure myself.
After class, I was met with Pryer who had a bright smile on his face. I'll never get tired of how happy and carefree he looks when he smiles." Devie~." He said and wrapped one arm over my shoulders so he could close the gap that was between us.
" Maybe I should try and find a girlfriend you guys make me feel super lonely," Leo said as he smiled at girls who walked past our friend group.
"Jesus you guys seem so desperate." Noah said and River rolled his small eyes." Oh, and you weren't shortie?" He proceeded to place his elbow on Noah's head which only made him angry and they immediately started to argue.
"Well whatever, Voya I wanna talk to you." Fia suddenly appeared right behind Voya."Uh okay." She said and let Fia drag her away.
"So Devie I'll meet you at the pier?" I looked up and Pryer was smiling down at me once again. I took this opportunity to really study his face. His hair's gotten longer and curlier. His dark brown eyes were hooded with his short." You know staring at you up close like this lets me see your freckles more clearly."
I was caught from my daze to see that Pryer was staring right back at me.
"Okay now y'all are grossing me out, Noah and I will be making out by the vending machines if you need us." River said and started forcefully dragging Noah by the arm." What? No, we won't! Dude no!" Noah screamed as he was dragged away soon Leo started following them because we all knew they were going to the vending machines to cheat out two snacks.

Pryer's POV

I waited patiently in the parking lot in front of the entrance gate for Devie. I have never been so nervous in my whole life. This was going to my first real date with a girl I actually liked. This wasn't some long time hook up.
This was real.
"Pryer!"
I looked up to see Devie running towards me in a short white dress with her black and white Nikes for her own style.
"Wow Devie you look Amazing," I said and smiled at her. She smiled at me back at me just as bright.
"Thanks, you look amazing as always."She says and begins walking towards the entrance.
"So what should we do first?" I said and watched as she visibly made a thinking face. Her eyes scanned her surroundings looking at every ride and food stand.
"I know!" She grabbed my hand and ran towards the bumper cars. "Bumper cars?"
"Yes! They're so fun! It's been so long since I've experienced this. She looked super excited as she looked around." Actually, I've never ridden a bumper car." She immediately turned her head towards me in shock.
"Your lying."
"Nope."
"We're definitely doing this then." You can't back out." She had a serious expression on her face that amused me.
"Fine."
When we got into our bumper cars the seats were hard and almost uncomfortable. It was annoying and the force you experience when bumping into someone was horrible. Let's also not forget that Devie chased me the entire time.
"So did you have fun?"
"Absolutely not, how could someone enjoy that?" She rolled her eyes at me.
"How about some funnel cake?" I immediately thought of an actual funnel with a cake on it.
It was actually the complete opposite. It was a weird pattern shaped cake with powdered sugar, strawberries, and chocolate syrup.
"So how is it?" She looked up at me with her fork in her mouth and her cheeks full." Absolutely amazing." It was the greatest thing that I've ever eaten. Whoever came up with this must be rich.
After riding some more rollercoasters, boat rides, and trying food the sun began to set. We decided to ride the Ferris wheel. We took our seats and stared out the window looking at the ocean.
We were finally alone.
"What do you want to do after high school?" I turned from the window to face Devie.The sunset set on her dark skin giving it a sunset glow.
"I'll probably just continue my boxing career." She smiled and nodded, but her smile faded when she faced the window."What do you want to do?"
"I just want to get away from here, for a long time, I want to go somewhere that fits me better." She said and looked at me again." When that day comes, can you take me with you?"
"What?"
"I want to be with you for as long as you'll let me because you're the one person who really understands me."
I said and her face held a surprised look.
"So that means, you love me? Like an 'I love you'?" She questioned herself while lost in her own mind.
I laughed and shook my head." I love you Devanie. I love you a lot and I'll love you for as long as you'll let me." She looked at me with that same surprised face. Then suddenly her eyes began to swell up into tears.
"H-hey why are you crying?" I said in a panic as I leaned closer to her to wipe her tears." I'm just really happy."
"I love you too Pryer." She said and leaned in to wrap her arms around my neck to form a hug. I immediately hugged her back and felt her tighten her grip around me.
"Don't cry Devie." I said and patted her back." I'm not crying." She said as she sniffed. I laughed again," Sure you aren't."
