Chapter 41: Grudge
"Aelin! Aelin slow down!"
Aelin was still angry which resulted in her doing the opposite of what Mynzi shouted to her. She walked faster.
She thought about that girl, the De La Felinar.
How dare she disrespect her, the only daughter of the Von Paramar family. She clenched her knuckles tighter. It's always the De La Felinars, from the Ethereal De La Felinar to that new girl. She should have been in that girl's place, but because the Felinar's nobility's blood is unquestionably superior, that girl was given the title instead. She gritted her teeth from the unfair thought that always lurked inside her mind.
It wasn't long until she reached the mini garden inside the school. She sat on one of the benches and frowned. She could hear Mynzi's heavy steps on the grass running to where she was.
"Aelin, you should've slowed down had I not sweated from running after you," Mynzi complained, she sat on the space beside Aelin.
"I hate them."
Mynzi gave her friend a look. "You never liked the Felinars." She chuckled and admired the beautiful flowers in the garden. "And I ended up disliking them too."
Aelin huffed. "That's why we became friends of course." She rolled her eyes. "Someday, I'll be able to defeat that Ethereal Felinar." She declared.
"Keep training first Aelin, you know how hard it is to defeat an Ethereal." Mynzi pointed out.
Aelin gave her a death stare. "Shut up, you know she was promoted-- not victorious."
Mynzi nodded. "But we are all aware she's strong." She paused. "Forget about her, what about this new Felinar girl?"
From the mention of her, Aelin's frown deepened. "That girl." She said, clenching her teeth. "How dare she play with me!"
Mynzi chose to stay quiet.
"She has the nerve to get close with the Ethereals when she's just a mere weakling!" Her anger was palpable. "If she's planning to get close to the Ethereal boys to earn their favor, then she is nothing more than a brazen girl!"
Mynzi sighed beside her, she knew how spiteful Aelin can get. A pair of black shoes came to view while she was staring at the grass. Looking up she saw a much more collected Von Paramar blood.
Almend and Mynzi shared a telepathic look.
"Aelin, Mynzi, we should head back. Power class is about to start." He said.
Aelin glared at him. "Why did you stay behind?"
"To fix your mess." Almend crossed his arms. "What we will be if news reaches our territories is one I cannot imagine."
All three of them knew what it would've been.
Aelin stood up angrily looking up to meet him eye to eye. "Who cares if Father finds out. The Felinars deserves to be frowned upon, have you forgotten about that? If you have the heart to forgive, I do as well but not for them."
They stared at each other for a few seconds. Aelin walked past him stubbornly stomping away.
"You still can't handle her huh," Mynzi said with a smug expression.
"Like you can." Almend gave her a blank look.
The three went to their class, fortunately not bumping with Eliana. As to who they verbally attacked, was still unknown to Eliana and that is why she needs to take note of who they were so she can ask Larsanel about them.
Power Enhancement Class with the Ethereals.
Eliana didn't seem happy with the thought, training seems to mean bad luck to her. Her mind was full that she didn't notice she was already in front of the training room Rimbrad provided for the eight of them.
'A special treatment huh.' she thought.
She heard noises coming from inside, it must be them. She entered quietly, even so, the Seven still sensed her presence from the door. They halted from their actions. Everyone was in their training clothes, which differed uniquely from one another. The colours, it must be from which elemental land they came from.
"Eliana, how are you?" Bastion asks placing his sword above the table where the other weapons were.
"I'm good." Eliana scanned the room while he answered him.
The room was fairly spacious and all white, some cream here and there. Weapons could be seen from the side of the room where the long table was. The walls looked really stern which was made from a special kind that could withstand the impacts of hardcore training.
"You're not allowed to train yet." Anzai came to her. His brows furrowed as he scanned Eliana's shoulder. "How is the healing progress?"
Eliana involuntarily touched her healing shoulder suddenly feeling conscious under his stare. "It's healing well." Her eyes caught a love seat located by a window. "I'll sit there then, you guys can resume training."
They watched her run slowly towards the seat. If there was one thing about Eliana that made her look naturally ridiculous, it was her fast walks. Most of her friends back on Earth would compare her to a penguin because her slow runs were similar to how penguins would travel.
Kylon laughed softly amused by Eliana's weird running. The others smiled a little, Emery, Zathur and Anzai remained passive.
Elian stayed there for the whole afternoon.
