Chapter 38: Not Human?
The day went by a blur, Eliana took her time preparing herself physically and mentally in her new room for the passing hours.
Her bandage was still on but it didn't hurt as much as it was before. With Veesha and Sera's healing skills, she was getting better in no time. Eliana sat patiently on Rimbrad's couch. And as per usual, Rimbrad sat behind his desk. They were both waiting for Wistal to arrive.
Shortly the door creaked open and revealed the Jury.
"How are you Eliana dear?" Was his first question.
Eliana gave him a small shrug. "I'm okay as of the moment." She eyed his cloak which reminded her of something. "I'm sorry uncle Wistal, I accidentally trashed the cloak you gave me." She felt bad about it.
Lord Wistal waved his hands inviting himself in. "There is no need to think of other things, your safety is my top priority." He sat on the other chair.
"Welcome Wisa once again." Rimbrad acknowledged he received a nod from the Jury. He then turned his attention to Eliana. "Please give us a full detail of what happened."
Eliana nodded, they weren't beating around the bush. "Earlier that day, I decided to take a breather and went to the Academy's forest. I was alone and was sure there was no one else with me during that time. Out of nowhere the sky swirled around like a black hole on an ocean. I was about to leave but was unable to when suddenly oxygen was sucked out from me. I couldn't breathe. Somehow after almost a minute of struggling-" She breathed.
"Yehven came to the scene out of nowhere, he carried me away from where I was sitting. I regained my breathing and everything went back to normal. After that, Anzai arrived, that is all." She explained with additional actions.
Rimbrad and Wistal gave each other a look. Rimbrad cleared his throat. "A swirling sky?"
Eliana nodded. "Yes, the center was pitch black as well."
"And the night that day?"
"Ah yes." Eliana recalled. "I was having trouble with sleeping that night from what happened. Out of nowhere, an unusual sound echoed outside so I opened the window and saw nothing. When I was about to close it back, I was suddenly lifted up from my feet and swept outside the window by a strong wind. A voice with no physical body to be seen and only heard spoke to me." She shivered from the memory.
By this time the two Lord's were already frowning from the story. "What did the voice say?" Wistal asked.
"He told me he came to confirm my arrival... " She trailed shaking her head. "Come to think of it, after that he told me that terrible things are coming. After that, he was unheard of- then came the beast who attacked me." Her lost gaze looked over the two Lords.
Rimbrad and Wistal were both quiet for a few seconds. Rimbrad cupped his hands together leaning forward to his desk. "Eliana, back on Earth have you not encountered such incidents?"
"Of course not!" Eliana tried to recall but there was none at all. "I assure you my life was boring but it was safe and peaceful compared to when I came about in this world." She said in full frustration.
They were once again quiet until Wistal broke the silence. "Eliana, yesterday I visited Moz to check on his investigation." He paused.
Eliana anticipated. "What is it?"
"Moz was right, you are not entirely human."
Eliana found herself speechless from the revelation. Rimbrad himself fell quiet.
"H-how-"
"Tis unbelievable to say the least." Wistal said. "Do not allow this information to swallow you, the investigation is still ongoing. Tis a surprise, this is the first time he's having difficulty with an experiment." He grinned.
Eliana exhaled deeply. "Okay, so I'm still human then. Good."
"Eliana, stay with the Ethereals at all costs. Don't separate from them, this is for your safety. Until we find clues about this incident you will heed my orders, understand?" Rimbrad said in a tone like a mother giving a lesson to her child.
Eliana reluctantly nodded. She loves her privacy but after everything that happened she doesn't want any harmful things to occur again.
"That is good. Now, I talked to Yehven about the phenomenal forest incident. He said he was walking by when he heard you making troubled noises." Rimbrad explained. "It could be him but his ability is not related to the cause." He thoughtfully added.
"Tighten the security barriers Rimbrad, how did the beast get inside the Academy?" Wistal frowned.
Rimbrad massaged his forehead leaning back to his chair. "We found a tunnel under the far end side of the Academy area. We're doing our job to enhance the assurance of safety for our students Wistal."
"Be careful still." Wistal calmly replied.
"Of course." Rimbrad turned to Eliana. "Thank you, you may now use the rest of the day to rest. Tomorrow you'll be returning to your classes, you rarely attended some. Wistal see her back to the Ethereal dorm."
Wistal stood up. "Easy with the commands Rimbrad, this Principal work is starting to rub on you." He joked.
"It comes with the stress." Rimbrad sighed. "Leave now the two of you, I still have to write a report from this case."
Wistal laughed at his unfortunate situation. She motioned for Eliana to stand and follow him out. Eliana followed quietly.
"Thank you Principal Rimbrad." She said when they were at the door.
"Be careful." Rimbrad replied, waving his hand for them to completely leave him alone.
