Chapter 34: Low Class Beast
Eliana stood alertly in the place where the wind took her. As time passed by all he did was speak and speak, not a single attack.
"What do you want?" The anger in her voice was not hard to miss.
"Ha ha ha! Thou shalt ask nicely Young Lady." He said. "I was here to feed my curiosity. It has been fed."
Eliana's confused expression was twisting deeper. "What were you curious about?" She felt crazy for talking to no one but the wind around her.
"I was here to confirm thy arrival." His voice was gradually getting softer. "Tis true as I see it."
Eliana frowned. "What do you mean? What do you know?"
"Terrible terrible things are coming." His voice came in faintly this time. "Thou shalt be prepared, Young Lady." His voice faded away word by word until the last one.
Eliana panicked in place. She looked left. "Wait! What do you mean?!" Turned right. "Where are you!?" She turned behind her. "What do I need to know! Please."
The strong wind was now calming. The voice was nowhere to be heard as the crickets returned to their singing. Peacefulness enveloped the area.
Eliana bent down covering her face. The confusion was endlessly leveling up. Questions continue to pile in great amounts while answers were still yet to be sought.
Out of nowhere a growl was heard. Eliana looked up and from the light of the moon. A black creature resembling a wolf was taunting hungrily at her. It's jet black fur glistened under the moonlight, when it tilted it's head up it's eyes shone like how a predator finally found it's prey.
Unfortunately, Eliana was the latter.
She froze, never daring to move a single muscle. Her hands turned cold and she was positive the colour was drained out from her face.
The creature howled loudly echoing around, adding to her horror. Eliana carefully stood up. She thought millions of ways to escape from the wolf-like beast. Her last option was to fight it off. How? She couldn't answer it herself. She brought nothing but herself, actually the wind brought her here. Great.
Suddenly, the creature lunged to her without warning. The element of surprise it showed made Eliana screamed at the top of her lungs. It was quick that she didn't have the chance to run.
The beast was heavy and it pinned Eliana down to the ground. She fought it off by slapping it's face, pushing it's mouth away from her. The creature's sharp fangs had saliva dripping to Eliana's cheeks, it was disgusting and smelly and viscous.
She mustered all of her strength to kick it away from her. It was a success. She quickly took her cloak off and threw it at the beast to be covered with it. She did it to buy her some time. Once the creature was fully distracted, Eliana sprinted while it successfully shook the cloak away and regained to stand on it's four feet.
"Help me! Anyone! HELP ME!" She screamed as hard as she can while adrenaline worked on her feet.
Shortly, she was thrown back to the ground on her stomach. She struggled to roll over but it was no use, the beast was already pinning her down to the ground. The hideous creature stretched its mouth open and bit down harshly on her right shoulder.
"AAAAAAHH!!!"
Her ear piercing scream echoed around the area. She could feel the fangs digging inside her skin and red blood poured fast like a leaking faucet to the ground. She felt her right upper body go numb and her mind was already hazy. Her eyes closed.
Just then, a bright strong light appeared in the middle of the scene. It blinded the beast as it created a loud whimper.
"She's here!" Emery ran towards Eliana who was laying on the cold ground. Larsanel catched up kneeling beside her.
"I-I" Aura, who called them was trembling.
"Thank you for calling us but you should go back to your dorm and get away from here for now." Larsanel instructed.
Aura nodded and gave the scene one last look. With a terrified face, she turned and ran away back to her dorm for safety.
"I'll take it from here." Bastion offered.
"We'll be here to back you up." Jett said.
"You don't have to, I can handle this." Bastion fearlessly walked closer to the howling creature.
After the beast was blinded it started acting crazy, moving around in circles and whimpering loudly. Bastion frowned at its behavior and studied its appearance. It was no doubt nothing but a low class beast demon. He calmly raised his right hand. Folding his pinky and thumb to his palm while the other three pointed towards the clumsy beast.
He breathed in, focusing all his energy on his three fingers. A line of electric shot was released from his fingers. It created a loud noise similar to a struck of lightning. The beast was electrocuted intensely until it caught on fire. It died a painful death.
"She's been bit." Larsanel pressed on Eliana's wounds hoping to prevent the blood from gushing out.
Eliana looked pale as dead laying on the pool of her own blood.
"Can she walk?" It was dark and Kylon stood at the side with Zathur and Bastion.
"No, this human is passed out." Emery said. Although she hated Eliana, it was her duty as an Ethereal to protect her.
Anzai walked to them and crouched down. He slid his arms under Eliana's body, gently lifting her up from the cold ground. Her blood was continuously dripping and it stained Anzai's white bedroom clothes.
"You two Larsanel and Emery, go to her dorm room and pack her things, bring them over to the Ethereal dorm. Bastion, report this incident immediately to Principal Rimbrad and tell him it is urgent. Call for backup. Zathur and Jett, stay here to preserve the scene and monitor the area. Kylon come with me to the infirmary." Everyone immediately heeded his commands.
"She's pale." Kylon pointed out.
"We walk fast."
And they did. The trip to the infirmary was quick as time for Eliana was precious.
