Chapter 33 - Working to the bone

For over two years since Guiness was rescued I've been training non stop to master sage mode and there's is quite different than the toads. He was happy to teach me their sage arts after learning all I did for the pack....and cooking for him. The first task was feeing naturally chakra in the same way naruto did. With the oil though I didn't use oil.

He took me deep into the cloth cave and removed as much of the soft floor furs as he could. It revealed a little crevice that required the compression technique I used on him before to fit in. After descending I was horrified at the tomb before me, I was surrounded by ginormous bones that appear to come from wolves. Guiness turned to me "toriko-kun these are the bones of the sages. The next sage is required to chew on the bones and absorb the leftover nature energy that they had coursing through their bodies. Once they can feel it in their bodies they begin to train in it".

So I had to bite, chomp and gnaw on bones that were oddly milk flavoured. My food fighter jutsu kicked in and made my bones stronger however it took days off chewing to finally feel it. As soon as I could say I felt it a massive brush smacked me in the head.

"Good you felt it, but you almost turned into a wolf yourself so now we are going to teach you to feel it without the bones. The next stage is called the Legosi trial". He picked me up in his jaws and dove into the pond at the corner of the tomb that was luminous. He carried me and dumped me in another cave. This was truly torture, the legosi trial was to meditate in front of honey soaked boiler boar meat and harness nature energy.

The room was freezing and reminded me of a butchery back on earth but much colder. I had to sit there and twists the hunger and cold which in turn made me feel the nature energy faster. 17 days I sat there resisting the urge to shiver as I allowed the cold and nature to deep into me. After I managed to do it I was smacked again. So he could take me to the raikou mountain, the living place of a thunder wolf sage.

This was the place we're I had to master absolute stillness like naruto on the mountain. The only difference? The constant thunderbolts that strike the body to temper it. To master absolute stillness means to do so without feeling. The lightning was meant to paralyse the body while straining the mind. If you can survive and stay in sage mode then your at the level where you can train in the senjutsu.

I was blasted off the mountain by thunder strikes and wind blasts. I had to eat the paralytic ravens that lives on the mountain along with some leftover boiled boar meat. It was good and allowed me to adapt to environment. Though at times I grew frustrated so Guiness advised me to train in other areas.

I refine my scorch style: jet mode and my food jutsu upping my counter to 70 over the span of six months that I was stuck there. For six months I punched mountains and lifted boulders to train while hunting bigger ravens in the mountain.

At the end of the six months I was able to enter sage mode and be unaffected. The blue markings that adorned my body grew fur that flower as my usual markings glowed. My head grew two furry ears and my tail bone sprouted a bushy tail like the rest of the pack. As I turned to try and see it I fell off my perch and slammed into the ground. I felt to pain whatsoever, no damage at all. I've done it, I smiled before jumping away to avoid the tail brush attack.

"Haha haha you finally learned sage mode. Jiro said it would take 8 months but I was beginning to doubt. Now that you've officially became a sage onto the senjutsu."

Yay more training back at the cave. I had to fight him on and off for days. Next I had to fight jiro and mama cloth. They are evil?!!! Who fires needles and uses slobber as a projectile. When I said I'd never heard of woman doing that she gripped me in her jaws and began using wolf fang over fang.

The g force gave me a nose bleed so they decided to add that to my training. The young members of the pack had to grip me like mama cloth and spin me. The varying intensity made better training was what they told me.

Other than that I studied the material that my sensei left for me and worked on my jade hands. Massaging my damaged muscles worked wonders for me as I began to bulk up. After my training I reached 186 cm and had six months left to train in whatever area I required. That marked 1 year and six months since I left konoha. I missed my sister and my friends though I didn't enjoy the though off becoming a stud horse when I returned.

I spent the time learning under old jiro alongside terry mastering his needle knocking and finally creating my own consistent version. I could fire of the needles from my markings when in sage mode and could now use them on any target after being made to face hundreds of different species over the six months. I documented my technique for shizune so I could begin testing off adding poison to the knocking and the practical applications on healing patients.

I learned their wolf fighting style like naruto learned the frogs which was superior but the wolves have a better physique and arsenal in my opinion. Two years have passed and now the pack recognised me as one of the five sages they have, terry passed the raikou mountain. Now I have a year till plot starts and have an idea on what to train.

Next up is grand sage strength, this means I would be able to gather nature energy at all times without having to stop and meditate. I used the shadow clone technique to leave behind three clones to gather while the rest of me will be training. Now I will try to master gathering nature chakra while standing, then while walking, swimming, climbing, sprinting, fighting and then using Jutsu.

I stepped towards pakkun to be reverse summoned to kakashi while the wolves came to wave me off. They left the cave and began interacting with the dogs much more after I began teaching them that the dogs can gather the ingredients for my dishes. I'll miss this place and the people though no slobber baths anymore hahaha.
