In the soft golden glow of the darkroom, she stopped breathing as the heat burned through her thin red robes at his touch. She gulped as the blood in her dwindling life force surged into her cheeks. She inhaled in the wake of the crackling current. She couldn't figure out why she was feeling so... she bit her lip, her toes curled.
"I know I've hurt you before. Forgive me. I've never known anything about love," Dong Hai's voice was just above a whisper, and she wasn't sure if it was comforting or exacerbating the rising fire in her lower stomach.
"I'm still unable to grasp much of it," he said, his voice tinged with sadness.
"But did I go too far? Is it already too late? That you don't understand... I wish to be with you.... " He murmured into her ears.
"How can you tell me so easily that you want me to forget about you?" She revealed what was truly hurting her, and how he could ask such a thing of her.
