Xiao Liu didn't want to make Dong Hai sad; she's the one who couldn't deal with it.
"I realise you're upset," Dong Hai said as he approached her and sat in front of her. Will she forget the contrast between Dong Hai's blue robes and his now untidy silver hair?
"I wouldn't dare to be cross with you," Xiao Liu murmured, her fist tightening the blanket over her.
"But you are," Dong Hai said, raising his hand and caressing her fisted knuckles, and she let out a gasp as the sparks in her veins shot.
"I'm not upset with you; I understand why you insist on it," Xiao Liu said quietly.
