Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: The Life of Zhou Feng

"Its nothing, you are just sensitive to cold, I will prescribe you some herb and you will be fine," The old physician assured them and gave her some herbs, banding her hand.

"You gave me a scare, The boss kept yelling for you all morning. You never got late before I got worried so I end up looking for you when I didn't saw you at your old hut and then I finally look at the village,"

Shi Shi took Hong Liu who was now in Zhou Feng body to her hut where she lived with her elder brother and gave her some robes to change into, Hong Liu was grateful getting some warmth in her body. It was the time she changed her in dry light blue robes that she notices that, though she seems to be in a mortal body. The First Lord copper bells that she stole from Ming Zhu travelled with her and was still around her waist.

Shi Shi was a kind and caring friend sometimes though overbearing to Zhou Feng. She made her soup made sure she took her herbs and rested well. Hong Liu use this time of rest and nourish her to gather her thoughts and assess her situation, Celestial immortals are not allowed inhabitant the body of a live mortal and if she is correct in her thinking that she has been transferred to a mortal young woman body for her retribution, Zhou Feng must have died drowning in the river and she, Hong Liu end up possessing it.

When Hong Liu woke up completing her rest in the evening, Shi Shi comes from the eatery and when she saw Zhou Feng woke up, she looked at her friend carefully after the morning excitement she got time now to look at her friend carefully, she seems different to her. Hong Liu notices her stare.

"What is it? Why you are staring at me like that?"

Shi Shi narrowed her eyes. Hong Liu swallowed a little wary.

"I don't know but there is something different about...maybe....." Shi Shi got a closer look. Hong Liu leans away from her to keep some distance, did is she find out I am not her friend? She thought warily. That would be a problem she knows nothing of this Zhou Feng if Shi Shi started to doubt her.

"Yes, Yes, this is it! This mark on your forehead, I have never seen it before...is that a lotus?" Shi Shi frowned. Hong Liu slapped her hand to her mark without thinking, how come if she in different body her mark appeared here....?

"Umm...ummmm I...I always had it, I use to just keep it hidden," Hong Liu blur it out.

"Why? It's beautiful," There was an awe in Shi Shi's voice

"Sometimes people don't like seeing something different," Hong Liu said, and it was true though her family is used to seeing her mark and unusual wings even in celestial realm people seems to go wary or get uncomfortable seeing her birth-mark.

"Oh, you are right but I know you for so long, you should not hide these things from me. I won't see you differently," Shi Shi reassures her tapping her shoulder.

Lucky Zhou Feng to have such a considered friend. Shi Shi later after dinner offer her to escort to her hut or asked if she wishes to stay here after all she went through a trauma this morning. Hong Liu thought if she had to continue as Zhou Feng, she needs to find more about her and whats better to start with her home. She won't find good enough excuse to figure out where she lives without exposing herself. So Hong Liu told it would be nice if she could come with her. Its turn out Zhou Feng lives alone, in a shabby old hut on the hill at the outskirts of the city.

"Oh and I report your condition to the boss but he was not considered at all and he wants to report tomorrow at the eatery, I am sorry," Shi Shi said.

"It's fine, I will be there," Hong Liu nodded just for the time being. She has to figure out what next, Shi Shi left.

Hong Liu turns to the shabby hut with the royal blue robe in her hand and her bells chimed as she enters the hut, the dry grass and bamboo structure seems to look like it will fall any second. She stepped in to find an average-sized room that's for by some miracle had a small bed and lower tea table, an old tea set. She went to the kitchen, it had all the necessities enough to sustain one person. There was broken looking glass in the room, she clears the dirt from it and blinked at her reflection. How come...? She took exactly like herself the same thin oval face, the big dark eyes and the red lotus mark. She frowned, she is sure she is in a mortal body. she flicks her hand to check, the teapot didn't move. Yes, her magic powers are sealed, what about her wings she tries to feel them then unfold them but no..no..she was left in the mortal realm without her magic powers or wings. Then the gravity of her situation down on her. Oh my goodness!

"So here you are,"

Hong Liu turns hearing the familiar voice.

"Ming Zhu!" She exclaimed in relief.

The Fate Lord was standing in the door of Zhou Feng's shabby hut smiling at a Young princess relieved greeting.

"What are you doing here? How you know?" she asked.

"Perks of being the Mortal Fate Lord, High God Ren found you unconscious in the peach forest after assessing he knew your spirit left your body probably for the retribution trial to the mortal realm and sent for me to look for you,"

"So it is retribution, huh?"

Ming Zhu nodded.

"What I am going to do?" Hong Liu asked pitifully.

"That's why I am here to help you," Ming Zhu says they sat by the old lower tea table after Hong Liu lit a lamp as the evening get darker.

"That's great!" Hong Liu beamed.

"As for now since you inhabitant the body of a deceased. There is nothing on the book of Fate and since it's heavenly retribution. It's better to be left these ties in the hands of heaven," Ming Zhu said.

"So technically you mean to do nothing?"

"Yes, just follow Zhou Feng's life as she uses to live," He advised.

"I know nothing about her," she said.

"That is easily handled," Ming Zhu materialized a scroll.

"This is her book of fate, It will give you all the information you need," He handed her. Hong Liu opens it and read.

Zhou Feng, born in 7856th mortal realm in the state of Jin Chun, move to the imperial city after her grandmother dies when she was eighteen years old. She lost her parents when she was five and was brought by her widowed grandmother. She works in the local eatery in the capital as a cook since she had turned twenty years old, her only friend is Shi Shi and she died at the age of twenty-four by drowning in the river while she took a detour to work.

"Well, that's... miserable and boring," Hong Liu said.
