Chapter 26 - The Big Surprise

Maggie's POV

I know people say "Never go to bed angry" but, fuck it. I'm tired, and frustrated. As soon as my head hit the pillow, I was out like a light. When I woke up again. It was 1:06.

Wow, that's late.

Time to go get coffee! When I got into the kitchen, I saw Josh making coffee for everyone and Conor didn't look like he was breathing. I grabbed a mug of coffee from Josh.

"Thank you tree." I said, and walked to the couch.

"How you doin' Con?" I asked, resting my head on my fist. He gave me a dirty look.

"I think I partied too hard last night." He groaned.

"Dawww, poor baby." I stuck my bottom lip out.

At that minute, Jack came out and sat next to me on the couch, but I got up and went into the kitchen. Just to avoid the prick.

Jack's POV

I was going to go after her but what good would it do?

"Is there something up with you two?" Josh asked.

I nodded.

"I forgot our one year anniversary." Both Josh and Conor cringed.

Maggie's POV

I walked back into the sitting room and sat next to Conor. Everyone was in complete silence until Conor attempted to break the ice by saying, "Happy one year anniversary you guys." He had a wide smile plastered on his face.

"It was yesterday." I mumbled.

"ALRIGHT THAT'S IT!" Josh shrieked.

"YOU TWO ARE MEANT TO BE TOGETHER, AND I WANT YOU TWO TALKING AGAIN!" Josh pointed at both of us, while poor Conor was holding his head.

Since when, does Joshua Pieters yell?

"Fuck you Josh," he whispered, and went off to get aspirin.

"Conor and I are leaving you two in the house. Talk things out, or one of you is leaving." Josh then walked out with Conor trailing behind him.

"What does he mean one of us is leaving?" I asked no one in particular.

"Who fucking knows with that giant." Jack waved a hand.

I couldn't help but smile.

"At least I got a smile out of you Ferrier." He pointed.

"I though my name was Mrs.Maynard?" I asked with a cheeky grin.

"Yeah, I might've gotten ahead of myself on that one." Jack said, obviously embarrassed.

"Jack, I'm just disappointed that you'd a. go through with that shitty dare, and b. forget to at least SAY happy anniversary." I looked away.

Maybe I am a little bit mad.

I felt a pair of warm hands, hold onto mine, and I closed my eyes.

"I know, and I'm truly, very sorry. How about this, how about we go out today and just do something special." He said.

"Like what?" I smiled.

"Anything you want princess." He winked, and I felt my face flush red all over.

"How about we just watch a film, like a lazy day?" I suggested.

"If that's what you want. Happy wife happy life." He said.

I paused, "Jack why do you keep saying things like happy wife happy life and calling me Mrs. Maynard?" I asked.

"Well, uhm, I know we're young but I really wanted to give you this Margaret." I opened my eyes and saw Jack down on one knee holding out a beautiful, diamond ring with a sapphire in the middle.

"I wanted to give it to you on our anniversary but, me being me, I fucked up and forgot. But, Margaret Ferrier, will you marry me?" Jack asked.

What do I say? I'm frozen!

All I could do, was nod furiously.

"Yes Jack, a million times yes!" I ran into his arms and kissed him all over. I started tearing up. He slid the ring on my finger and it looked absolutely gorgeous.

I smiled at Jack and gave him a long kiss.

So what if we're too young? I love him, he loves me. It's not like we're getting married yet.

"Should we call my parents or visit them?" Jack asked.

"Visit, after all, they haven't seen me in ages." I said.

"Alright let's go." Jack led me to his car and we drove to Brighton. The whole ride there, I was feeling uneasy,

What if they think we're going too fast? What if they don't approve? What if they think we're too young? Fuck it, YOLO BITCHES!

I snapped out of it when I felt Jack set his hand on my thigh.

"Don't worry, you'll be fine." He said reassuringly.

When we walked up to the house, I gulped, took in a deep breath and held on to Jack's hand for dear life.

"Oh my word! It's so good to see you two! Mrs. Maynard says.

"Hey mum, this is Maggie. If you remember." Jack introduced me.

"Hi." I wave.

"Well of course I remember! Come on in!" She motioned for us to come in.

Into the lions den I go!

Jack and I sat down on the comfy couch in their sitting room. The whole house had a happy aura. I couldn't help but smile.

"It's a Pleasure to see you again Mrs. Maynard." I shook her hand.

"Oh please dear, call me Helen. Mrs. Makes me feel old." She smiled.

"Gary! Get down here! And bring Anna! Jack's here with Maggie!" She called.

I heard footsteps and squeezed into Jack's hand once more.

I saw a young girl come down the stairs. Most likely Anna.

"Maggie!" She squealed.

"Oh my god Anna! You look so different!" I smile.

She giggled and we took a photo.

"Alright Anna, don't pester the guest." Helen said. I held in a laugh.

"So, Maggie, what do you do now?" Garry

asked.

Here we go.

"Same as Jack, I do YouTube. It's fun for me and I love making my viewers happy. I make money some off of it but, to me it's not about the money, it's about making the people happy. And That's what I like to do, make people happy." I smiled. Garry, Helen and Anna smiled back at me.

"Well aren't you just precious." Helen said.

Jack turned to look at me and gave me a "well done" kind of look.

"So, mum, dad. The reason we came here is because, I proposed. Now," Jack held a finger up, "before you say anything, I just want you to know that, we aren't getting married anytime soon and we're not trying to push things at all." He explained.

"Well I don't think either of us we're going to say anything negative about it, we're delighted to hear that!" Garry said. Jack, Anna and I all let out relieved breaths. He turned to me and gave me a quick peck on the lips.

"Jack! Keep it PG." I say and we all laughed.

For the rest of the day, we shared stories, Helen and Garry showed me baby pictures, which I will definitely use as blackmail in the future, and Anna and I became great friends. When it was time to go, everyone hugged us both and waved goodbye. Then, we made our way back.

I chose to post a picture of the ring on Instagram as a way to surprise everyone.

So many fans sent such supportive and kind messages and comments that just warmed my heart. I shut my phone off and smiled at everyone's joy. Now I just wait until the texts flow in.
