Chereads / Our Nasty Little Secret / Chapter 3 - Party At My Place

Chapter 3 - Party At My Place

English was a total disaster (are we surprised?) not because of my academic performance, but because of SATAN and his crew. Every minute, someone would pull a stunt, but it was nothing new to the class, everyone was used to the boys' antics, and they found them funny. I, on the other hand, I thought they were idiotic children.

God, I sound like my mother

Besides the usual stunts and jokes that were pulled, nothing new happened, except for the fact that every time I looked at Slater (to shoot him my famous "I'm going to kill you in your sleep" look) I'd find that he was the one looking at me first. It was odd, and that's saying a LOT.

As soon as the bell rang I rushed out and headed to Journalism, then my favorite class of all, history. I loved history mostly because we never really learned anything and our teacher was literally the coolest teacher you could possibly have. Once, he gave us a whole period to just take naps. Who does that? I'll answer, NOBODY!!!

But after the school day was over, I ran home and prayed that Kylie was already there. I needed to emphasize my anger towards her some more even though I already had during both journalism AND history.

I tiptoed in and slammed the door shut, making sure she could hear it, if she was in the house that is.

"Jesus Christ Lia, you're gonna break the doorframe." I hear her say.

Thank god

"I HATE YOU!" I screamed while stomping my foot on the hard wooden floors beneath me.

Kylie rolled her eyes at me and walked into her bedroom.

"HEY! Don't walk away from me!" I shout, running after her. Once I got in her room, I saw that she'd already gotten comfortable and set up her hibernation spot for tonight. She had Netflix on her TV already, a bowl of popcorn and a bottle of Coca Cola on her bedside table.

It's only Monday Ky, geez

"Why the HELL did you and Mia let that beast drag me away from you?"

"You keep asking me that Lia." She said in a relaxed tone, already looking for a movie to watch.

"And you keep not answering it." I press, sitting down in front of her, blocking her view of the TV.

She looked at me and sighed.

"Amelia, tell me this. Why do you hate him so much?"

"You've heard me say it millions of times Kylie, he's annoying, stupid, rude-" I say, numbering the negative words I used on my fingers.

"Yes. I have heard you say it millions of times. Do you ever wonder WHY he's annoying and picks on you?"

"I- no." I answer with confusion.

"Well maybe you should ask him." She responded.

I just sat there thinking.

Maybe that's a good idea...maybe

"Why do you think he does it?" I ask after a moment of silence.

"Oh that's easy. He's totally into you." She quickly answered.

I was taken aback at first, but then realized she was kidding.

The good ol' "love hate relationship" joke

"Good one Ky." I chuckle.

"Lia, I'm serious." Kylie presses.

Once I started, I couldn't stop, "HAHAHAHAHA!"

All the while, Kylie was looking at me like I was a complete lunatic. When I finally came back to my senses and caught my breath I sat up and smiled.

"You never fail to amuse me Miss Lundgren." I wiped my eyes, that had now teared up from all the laughter. I got up to retreat to my room, but I was stopped when Kylie spoke again.

"I'm surprised you don't believe me. But I bet Slater wouldn't doubt it for a second if I told him you were in love with him."

What the fuck did you just say?

"Excuse me?" I say, turning around slowly.

"Oh COME ON Amelia. It's not a secret anymore. At least, not a secret to me." She smirked. "You know my deepest secrets, so what makes you think I don't know yours?"

"I don't love him. I DON'T AND I NEVER WILL!" I shout, going back to my own room.

Why did I just explode like that?

I felt bad, but I also felt angry. How dare she accuse me of something that crazy....something that...VILE. I'm Amelia Di fucking Rossi and I don't have time for stupid boys. Kylie's got it all wrong. But I would like to know why the hell that beast always torments me.

*2 Hours Later*

I was sitting at my desk finishing up a paper that was due for chemistry when I heard a soft knock on my door.

"Come in." I automatically replied, still typing at a rapid pace.

"Hey,"

"Hello."

"Uh, ahem. I'm sorry for pressing you about Sla-"

"You know what, it's fine Kylie." I say, abandoning my work and turning to her.

She pursed her lips and leaned on my dresser.

"Lia, how would you like to go to a party tonight?" She asked.

"What?"

"You heard me. Layla's having a party at her place and obviously we're invited." She explained.

This is extremely sudden

"It's a Monday night Kylie, and knowing us we'll be out all night."

"How much work do you have?" She asks.

"Just one paragraph on this paper a-" I start, but was cut off by Kylie grabbing my arm and yanking me up just like the beast had earlier today.

"Then I guess you don't have much of an excuse to say no."

"Jesus! Why is everyone yanking me today?!" I groan.

"Oh stop complaining, you're gonna have a great time, and plus, you might see some cute guys there."

"Ha funny." I say, unenthusiastically.

We were now in Kylie's room....again and she was leading me to her closet.

"Uhhh, why're you taking me to your closet when you know I have a perfectly fine one myself?"

"Because, sweetie, you own three dresses and you've refused to wear them to parties, so we're going with plan B."

"Woah, woah, woah. Who said I was gonna be wearing a dress?" I say, wiggling out of her grip.

"Me. Mommy did."

I huffed and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You know how I feel about dresses."

"Yeah yeah, you get self-conscious about your legs. Well guess what sis, your legs are sexy as fuck and if I was a man, I'd devour them daily."

Both Kylie and I looked at each other with eyebrows raised.

"I think we both need to find guys before we start devouring each other." I joke, patting her on the shoulder.

The two of us laughed before starting to pick our outfits.

*20 Minutes Later*

After a LONG struggle between me saying no to almost every dress in Kylie's closet, (she had WAY more than I thought) I finally said yes to a simple black velvet dress.

When in doubt, say yes to the little black dress

"You pull it off." Kylie said with a grin, staring at my reflection in her mirror.

"Darling, I pull everything off." I reply in a dramatic tone, giving her a twirl.

We both laughed and started on our makeup. Kylie went with a full-glam look while I just stuck with red lipstick, a little bit of mascara, and some winged liner.

Issa look!

"Wow, we look HOT!" Kylie exclaimed.

"If I kept my black hair is look like Wednesday Adams, but sure." I tease. "When does the party start?" I ask.

"Eight, why?"

"Well if you must know, we just got ready way too early and still have an hour to kill." I say with a sigh.

"An hour is how long it takes us to eat, and I wouldn't be caught DEAD eating something at a party." Kylie says.

"Eh, fair point."

*An Hour Later*

Kylie and I had decided to get some takeout from the Chinese place up the street.

Efficient and smart

Once we were done with that, we drove up to Layla's place, where we saw lights flashing and cars were already parked along the block.

"Wow, people came in early." I say.

"Let's just call ourselves "fashionably late"." Kylie winked, flipping her hair.

We laughed and headed into the mansion that was blasting all types of music throughout the whole house.

I guess you could call this a "party"

I say to myself before walking into the crowd of people. It wasn't even a minute after we arrived that Mia ran up to us in one of her MANY, MANY luxury dresses.

Layla's parents were both lawyers, so that clearly cake with its perks. Such as, a big house, fancy clothes, and anything a golden child-or young adult-could ever want.

"Girlies! I'm so glad you came!" Layla squealed, pulling both Kylie and I into a warm bear hug.

"She barely did." Kylie says, pointing at me.

"Well she forced me to." I retort.

"I did nothing of the sort!"

Layla laughed at the two of us and ushered us into the different globs of people that were present.

This is definitely maximum capacity

Somehow I lost Kylie and Layla, so it was up to me to stay alive and survive the night.
