Soon, an alarm was sounded from the cafe. The hero association had been alerted of the attempted robbery.
"Damn it! Girl, how dare you resist!" The black clothed man upped the ante with his sonic attack laced voice, pressuring Lisa and causing her to tumble backwards.
Meanwhile, Adam could feel that he was getting used to the pressure from the two intruders as well. Sure enough, Tenacity was not any ordinary ability, even if its grade was low. Tenacity allowed Adam to resist the soul attack, though he still remained clamped to the ground so as to not attract attention.
Meanwhile, Lisa suddenly frowned and A shield of mental energy surrounded her body like a bubble, isolating her from the spirit attacks. Calming down, she looked at the two attackers with ferociousness. "Trying to attack people in broad daylight? It seems you two are quite the brave duo!" She snarled.
When the second black clothed intruder saw the girl resist, his face turned serious. And he began tapping the glass table with a quicker beat. A terrifying wave of soul attacks smothered everyone, making them feel extremely weak. Many people peed themselves and others burst into tears. Even Lisa felt extremely weak, but then anger bubbled in her heart as channeled her spirit mind and sent a powerful spirit attack towards the duo.
The spirit attack instantly nullified the duo's combined attack and relieved the pressure in the cafe. When the tension lowered, two of Lily's friends who had been paralyzed with fear got up. They two were ability users and they quickly channelled their abilities to attack the two.
One of them's hand began stretching like a rubber band, turning into ropes that smashed into the person using a sonic attack like a powerful whip. Meanwhile, Lily redoubled her spirit attack, causing the two to be mentally paralyzed, allowing her friends to counterattack.
Her other friend's legs turned into powerful springs and he jumped into the air, landing perfectly in front of the two paralyzed intruders, before kicking them with the springy legs, causing the two to crash into the wall. Coupled with the mental attack from Lily, the two had been knocked unconscious. The girl whose hands turned into ropes, then tied them up.
Everyone in the cafe breathed a sigh of relief at the battle ending without any major casualties, but the fear still lingered heavily in the minds of those ordinary people in the cafe, including Adam's group. Many of them had pissed themselves in fear.
Minutes later, hero association and the police had already arrived. While others were being escorted for first aid treatment, Lisa and her group were being lauded. Adam quietly moved out, the desire to gaining power more fervent than ever. However, now that he had exhausted visiting all kinds of vulnerable places for people with abilities, he didn't know how else to find H ranked abilities to absorb.
Adam wanted to upgrade his three current abilities to G grade. Tenacity had already been upgraded to G grade and he was looking forward to improve the other abilities as well.
Adam's friends were in no mood to talk after the terrifying encounter and quickly split up to go home. Meanwhile, Adam went home as well, as he was considering other ways to acquire abilities.
Adam began browsing the internet on his holowatch and came across an interesting forum.
"The society for disabled ability users?" Adam mumbled with curious interest. He didn't expect to find such a peculiar society that he had just been searching on a whim.
The whole notion of the body's limit of being able to bear abilities had made Adam wonder about people who were unlucky and had awakened harmful abilities and what they did to live with these negative effects.
It turned out that these groups of disabled individuals who had awakened harmful abilities had formed their own forum. Curious, Adam created an anonymous account on the forum looked through the posts in surprise.
"My body is filled with spikes since I awakened this disgusting ability. I can't live a decent life anymore without others laughing at me, and no normal activities are possible for me!"
A post read with a photograph of the poster, which showed a man whose body was covered in hundreds of long wooden spikes all over their body.
Adam tapped his fingers on the table in his room as he considered his next moves. These ability users, Adam realized, could not live their usual lives at all. If he could absorb their abilities, he could disintegrate them to improve his own ability, while at the same time he could cure them!
However, the consequences of this action were too dangerous. The fact that someone could erase the abilities of others could put the hero association on high alert. Adam thought for a long time. about what to do before his eyes lit up with an idea.
Adam published his anonymous account on the forum and renamed it Mystery One. Then he began browsing the forum posts, looking for the perfect participant, before eventually fixating on one.
He quickly sent a private message to a particular poster who had shared their plight.
"My life was good. I used to be beautiful. Until I once awakened this horrifying Grade H ability of mine, which turned my skin into wax. Just going out of my house in the heat is enough to melt my skin! I hate my life - Sad Rose."
The post described along with a picture of a thin damsel like figure with an ugly blob like face that had melted to look disgusting and horrible.
Adam messaged this Sad Rose account with a few simple words.
"I have a way to cure your illness." He wrote.
Not even a few minutes passed before he received a reply.
Sad Rose - You are trolling me, aren't you? Don't you have any shame?
Mystery One - It is up to you to believe. I am offering you a chance at a decent life and regaining your beauty.
Sad Rose - Who are you? How can you cure me when even the hero association has no ability?
Mystery One - Do you want to get the cure or not?
Seeing this message Sad Rose hesitated. She suspected that the messager was some kind of scammer, but hidden within her dark room, looking at the private messages she couldn't help but hope that it might be true.
Sad Rose - Yes, I want the cure.
Mystery One - Meet at the following address tomorrow evening.
After sending the message, Adam went offline. He didn't wait to see what the person who went by the name Sad Rose would reply, because he already knew that she had fallen for the bait. Instead, he was finalizing the manner in which he could execute this plan successfully.
