SEBASTIAN
Thank goodness I only work three days a week. It was now Thursday, Audrey accompanied her friends from Monday to Wednesday, taking them sightseeing and shopping. She saved the fun for when I was off work.
"Come on guys, I'm so excited!" Libby was a ray of sunshine and rainbows right now; or a fairy on drugs.
"Libby, calm down, we'll get there soon," Audrey replied squeezing my hand once, I could tell she was excited too even though only she knew where we were going.
"Where are we going anyway?" Logan had now joined us. He is a music producer and had just finished up with an important client the day after Audrey's birthday so he joined us later that day.
"If I know Audrey at all, and I should because I'm her big sister, she's not going to tell you. It's best if you just be patient and you'll see when you get there." Margo smirked at Logan, hooking her arm around Logan's elbow.
"Alright, I'll be patient because you asked me." Logan smiled down at Margo, it was soft, a smile Margo mustn't get often, evident by the blush that spread across her face.
We continued on with Audrey leading the way, a big happy group. We had left the town square of the shopping district after lunch and spending a few hours of window shopping, only after the sun had set and the stars came out. Knowing Audrey, this is what she intended.
The sound of screaming and laughter grew louder, as we grew closer it was clear by the lights of the Ferris wheel just where we were.
"A theme park!" Libby squeals, almost pulling James' arm out of his socket.
"No wonder you asked me if I liked theme parks, you wanted to go to the Winter Wonderland Fair," I chortled.
"I needed to make sure you would like it." She grinned, looking up at me.
"What if I didn't? Wait, what about everyone else?" I asked, meeting her gaze.
"Well, if you didn't like it I would have just picked something else. And as for everyone else, they can suffer." She shrugged, bringing me to the entrance.
"Hey! How could you do that to us? You're saying if we didn't like something you'd make us go through it anyway? Wow, I feel so loved, so much pain and suffering." Margo joked, dramatically throwing a hand to her forehead and pretending to faint.
Audrey looked over at her nonchalantly. "Then perish," she deadpanned.
"Woah, do you want me to contact an elemental to make it snow, I think you need some ice for that." Libby howled with laughter.
"Eh, it's fine. I've known her for twenty-one years now, I'm used to it." Margo admitted, waving off Libby's comment.
We got through the gates and security check, making our way to a nearby stall that sold heated wine. We all got a cup to warm our hands and our stomachs, taking sips while we walk through the theme park.
We filled our stomachs with food from other stalls and played a few games. Currently, Libby was clutching a teddy bear almost half the size of her from a game that James won. Margo had a necklace that she purchased from a jewellery store and Logan a new satchel, Marcus and Luke got matching rings and Marcus won Luke a small plushie. Audrey was adorned in a new pair of earrings and holding a massive chocolate Toblerone.
"Ooh! Let's go to the Ferris wheel." Libby drags James towards the line.
"I hope you aren't going to ask me to go on the Ferris wheel." I chuckled, putting Audrey's and my hand in my pocket.
"Of course not, you don't like heights. And what is this witchcraft? A woman's coat pocket can barely fit her phone at most." She wriggled her hand a little.
"How did you know I was afraid of heights?" I asked, squeezing her hand lightly.
"When I took you to that planetarium we had to go to the top floor to get to the stargazing auditorium. You looked over the railing and looked liked you wanted to throw up." She smiled, returning the squeeze.
"Aw, you noticed, you're so adorable." I coo, trying to kiss her cheek as she laughs. "Where's Margo and the others?"
My question was answered by a shout from the top of the Ferris wheel and a bunch of smiling friends leaning over the side of the carts. We wave at them and they wave back, laughing and giggling amongst themselves.
"I'm sorry you couldn't have a romantic movie moment." I frowned, looking up at the colourful ride.
"It's okay, I don't need it. I already have you don't I? We can have so many other romantic movie moments...on the ground." She laughed, her eyes shining with the lights of the fare.
I felt a warm feeling surge through my chest, my heart clenching in happiness. I leaned down and kissed her, wrapping my arms around her waist. She quickly responded, wrapping her arms around my neck. I pulled away and smiled at her. "I love you, so much."
"Me too. I love you too." She smiled before gasping and bringing her face to my chest.
"What's wrong?" I brought a hand up and patted her head lightly.
"That was so cringe-worthy. Ugh, I just want to crawl into a cave and stay there for five years." She clutched the sides of my coat.
"It was cute. I'm glad we had this moment." I teased, lifting her chin and pecking her lips.
We waited for everyone to come off the ride and meet back up with us. We walk towards more games and rides, spending the next couple of hours laughing and having fun.
Eventually, we grow tired, saying goodbye and making our way to our hotels or apartments, or in mine and Audrey's case, Audrey's house. We peel our coats off, going upstairs to change.
"Wanna watch a movie until we fall asleep?" I suggest.
"Sure, give me a minute."
I go down and make a couple of hot chocolates and after a few minutes, I hear a shout from Audrey. I join her in her room, handing her the hot chocolate with extra marshmallows.
"You made me hot chocolate? Thank you." She takes a sip and smiles. "So what movie do you want to watch. This hot chocolate is really good by the way."
"We could watch a romance movie...you know, since you didn't get your romantic movie moment today," I mumbled.
"We did have a movie moment today, and plus, those romantic movie moments are overrated and cringey anyway, I'd much rather be real with you." She grinned at me, taking another sip of her hot chocolate.
"You have no idea how happy I am to hear that. As much as I want to give those moments to you, they are so hard to arrange." I chuckled, taking a sip of my hot chocolate. Good job Sebastian, this is amazing.
She laughed, turning to me. "Glad I could help you with that. Now, pick a movie."
"How do you feel about Frozen?" I hinted.
"I think we should watch it."
I nodded. "Then let's watch it. We're going to sing along right?"
"Of course."
