Chapter 3 - Shopping

Roman

"Journey. Wake up pet," I said, as I gently rubbed her shoulder.

Her eyes shot open wide, and she had the most excited look on her face.

"It wasn't a dream," she squealed, as she sat up and wrapped her arms around my neck in a hug.

"No, it wasn't. You are really here," I chuckled, as I unwrapped her arms from around me. "Now, come Pet. You have to get ready to go for breakfast and then shopping."

"Yes master," she jumped up and out of the bed, looking up at me expectantly.

"Do you know how to put clothes on, Journey?" I looked down at her, wondering what she was waiting on.

"Yes master," she nodded her head, as she walked over to her suitcase, and struggled to open it.

She didn't ask for help though, she continued to struggle until I couldn't stand it anymore. Just as I started to walk over to her, she finally got it open.

She riffled through it for a few seconds before she pulled out a couple pieces of clothing, and left the rest in a jumbled mess, as she headed to the bathroom to change. Yeah, I definitely need to get her a nanny. Today.

A minute or two later, she came back out of the bathroom, and she looked so proud of herself.

"Journey, Uh.. Is this your first time dressing yourself?" I asked, not wanting to kill her spirit, but she looked pretty rough.

She had on a pair of black pants that were high water, maybe they were supposed to be capris, but it didn't appear so. And she was wearing a button up white blouse, but it was buttoned up crooked. Then there were the two different socks, along with her shoes being on the wrong feet.

"Uh huh," she said beaming proudly.

"Well, you did good sweetheart, but I think maybe we need to call Daisy for a little touch up," I tried to be as gentle as possible.

"You're probably right," she frowned, looking down at herself, disappointed.

"Journey, what's wrong?" I asked, looking at her curiously.

"I'm just.. I'm not a good pet. I can't do anything by myself," she pouted.

"Oh Journey. That's not true. You're just very young, and you've obviously been pretty sheltered at that orphanage. Even if they didn't treat you fairly," I shrugged, as I grabbed my phone to call Levi.

"Son, I need Daisy again," I said, as soon as he answered the phone.

"Okay, father. We're passing your door now," he sighed, as he hung up the phone, and knocked on my door.

I walked over to open the door, and let both of them in.

"My King," Daisy said, as she bowed politely.

"Daisy, you never have to bow to me again, if you can help me with this," I said, as I gestured towards a really sad looking Journey.

"Why is she looking so pitiful?" Levi asked, as he looked her up and down.

"Because she doesn't know how to dress herself," I defended.

"I'm not talking about her clothes. She's on the verge of tears," he argued, gesturing toward my very upset, pet.

"I think I may have caused that. She was so proud of herself, and now I've hurt her feelings by telling her that she needed Daisy to help," I confessed, feeling a little guilty.

When I turned back around, Daisy was already over there with Journey in her arms, hugging her tightly.

"You did so good for your first time, Journey," she cooed, as she gently rubbed her back, trying to reassure her. "No one can be perfect on their first time, honey. But that's what you have me for."

"Father, you need to get a nanny as soon as possible. Is her room almost finished?" Levi asked me, as he glanced over to Daisy and Journey.

"They said they would be done this evening. So she can sleep in her new room tonight. Do some nanny interviews while we're out shopping today, would you son?" I asked him, hoping he would help me out.

"Sure, I'll have a nanny hired by this afternoon, sir," he agreed.

"Make sure she's not gonna be too strict, and that Journey will be treated really well. I can't imagine what I would do to someone, if I found out that they were not treating her properly." I ordered, even though I know that he knows that.

"Are you going to hire an educator to teach her at least the basics?" Levi asked me.

I had been pondering on that same question from the moment, we left the orphanage. Of course, I want her to be educated, but I'm just not sure how far I want her to go in school.

"Yes she will learn at least the basics. I'm thinking of stopping her aging now, instead of waiting until she's 16," I admitted, looking for my sons reaction.

Most Vampires stop the aging of their pets at around 16. Daisy is actually somewhere around 150 years old, but Levi chose to stop her aging at 16, to keep her young and full of life. They don't turn into Vampires or anything. It's highly illegal to turn a human into a Vampire. We have witches that makes up anti-aging potions for us. It just keeps them in that young mind frame and body so that we can keep our pets for as long as we wish.

Some Vampires choose to let their pet age until they die naturally, but that is not the norm.

Some Vampires will allow their pets to age until they are around 18-25, because they desire to have a sexual relationship with their pet. Nico is letting Gracie age until she is of legal age. She is actually only 17, but as soon as he feels she is ready to be sexually active, he will stop the aging process.

Nico's mate also died during the same war that my mate died in. He is not wanting to be in a relationship with another woman. And he also doesn't want a sex slave. So he asked Gracie what she thought about it, and she agreed to it, so unless she changes her mind, this is their plan.

Jace hasn't met his mate yet, so he stopped Genesis aging at 16, also. He simply uses sex slaves if he gets anxious.

Levi, even being the oldest hasn't met his mate either. I'm waiting on him to meet his mate, so that I can pass the throne on to him. Hopefully that day will come soon.

"Wow, father. Are you sure you want to be dealing with a child that young for so long. I mean, she can't do anything herself. She's obviously been very sheltered. You would have to get a nanny and stop the aging on her as well, so that you wouldn't have to change nannies every 20 years or so." Levi replied, giving me all the reasons I shouldn't stop her aging so soon.

"I don't know. Maybe you're right. But she's just so adorable and sweet. She's got so much innocence, and I don't want to watch her grow out of that. Well, I'm not going to do anything right away. I will give it a few months before I make any decisions," I said, knowing that would placate him for now.

"Ta da," Daisy announced, as she and Journey walked out of the bathroom hand in hand.

Journey had a bright smile on her face, as she came walking up to me. Her shoes were on the correct feet, her socks matched, she had on a cute little t-shirt with rainbows on it, and a pair of jeans that actually seemed to fit her a lot better. Her hair was in an adorable pony tail on the top of her head.

"Do I look better?" She asked, looking up at me from her standing position.

She's so little that she actually has to crane her neck to see me. I guess with her being 3'5" and me being 6'7", there really is a huge difference. She's actually about the size of a 7 year old.

"You look adorable my little pet," I complimented, as I gave her a quick pat on the head.

"Thank you master," she squealed, as she put her hands in the air, motioning that she wanted to be picked up.

I reached down, and swooped her up in my arms, positioning her on my hip with one arm under her butt and the other one around her waist.

"You did very good, my pet," Levi said, as he wrapped one arm around Daisy's shoulders.

"Thank you master," she said, shyly as a pink tint brushed her cheeks lightly.

It's hard to tell when she blushes with her dark skin tone, but somehow I can always tell.

"Yes Daisy. You made me and my pet very happy today," I nodded my approval.

"I'm very glad, my King," her blush deepened, and she turned away from us.

"I'm hungry," Journey suddenly whined, just as I heard her stomach growling.

"Well we will just have to fix that, huh?" I said, as we all walked out the door to go to breakfast.

Journey started wiggling to get down as we walked down the hall towards the dining room.

"You wanna walk?" I asked, as I noticed her squirming uncomfortably.

She nodded her head, so I gently put her down on her feet, and grabbed her hand. She quickly grabbed Daisy's hand, and Levi walked in front of us.

I know that Journey doesn't have to hold my hand everywhere we go, but I feel this need to have her close to me. She's so tiny that I feel this incessant need to protect her at all times. It's only been a day, and I'm already very attached to my little pet.

Nico and Jace were waiting on us in the dining room, as we all took our seats. Neither of them had their pets with them. I know Gracie is on a 3 day time out, but I wonder where Genesis is.

"Where's Genni?" Daisy asked, as soon as we all were seated.

"Well," Jace sighed, looking frustrated, as he rubbed the back of his neck. "I caught her and that servant boy, Ian, making out on her bed in her room this morning." He looked like he was out of his league, as to what to do about it.

"Oh wow," Levi commented, his eyes widening as he looked at Daisy. "You've never done that. Have you, Daisy?" He growled like he was angry at her already.

"No sir. Of course, not," she squeaked, looking a tad bit guilty.

And this is part of the reason that I want to keep Journey as a 10 year old girl. Right now, boys still have cooties to her. She would never be caught making out with one of them.

"I promise I better never find out that you have," Levi said, like he knew she was lying.

It was pretty obvious that she was. And in 150 years, I can't imagine that she hasn't at least tried to kiss a boy or two. As long as she didn't lose her virginity to one. I'm almost sure, Levi would put her in a long time out. She might not ever leave that room again.

Vampires, while not wanting our pets, sexually, we are still extremely possessive of what's ours. And we don't want anyone else to have them sexually or any other way.

"So what did you do about it Jace?" I asked out of morbid curiosity.

"I didn't know what to do, honestly. I let my temper get the best of me, and I spanked her pretty hard. Then I told her she was on a permanent time out, and locked her in our room," he sighed, while he shook his head, as if reliving the memory of seeing them kiss.

"Don't you think that's a bit extreme?" I asked, thinking of her being locked in their room for the rest of her very long life.

"No," Nico defended his brother. "I would spank Gracie until she couldn't sit down for a week. Then I might spank her again after the week was over. And she would never leave our room again."

"Yeah, I have to say that Daisy would suffer pretty much those same consequences," Levi admitted, looking at a very nervous Daisy.

"I doubt that very much. Nico is only acting that way because he wants Gracie in a sexual way. You said, you never wanted Daisy in that way," I said, giving Levi a knowing look.

"I don't," he scoffed. "But I'll be damned if I let some filthy servant boy put his hands on her."

"So what did you do to the servant?" Nico asked her brother curiously.

"Nothing. I just scared the shit out of him, and threatened his life. Then I talked to his supervisor, and he's being moved to work on the other side of the castle now. Never allowed to see Genesis again," Jace admitted, not looking the least bit worried about him.

"The sad part is, she cried the hardest when I told her she would never see him again. She said she loved him. What is wrong with that girl? I mean, I know she hasn't lost her virginity yet. I would be able to tell it in her blood. Why does she think she loves him?" Jace groaned, as he put his head in his hands.

I felt Journey tense in my lap at the mention of Genesis' blood. I hadn't discussed anything about blood with her. Most Vampires do bite and feed off of their pets. However, Journey is far too young for anything like that. The only thing I might do with her, is have her do bi-monthly donations. She's a virgin, and she's O negative, which is a rare blood type, so it's natural to assume her blood would be simply amazing. But I'm not really ready to get into that with her. I'm going to give her a while to adjust to everything here.

I gave her a gentle squeeze to try and reassure her that she wouldn't go through that. She would absolutely never be bitten. I'm not letting anyone, including myself, ever bite my little pet.

"Man, I don't know," Levi said, shaking his head.

I noticed that Daisy kept getting more and more nervous, as this conversation went along. She was practically shaking in Levi's lap, and her brow was starting to form sweat beads.

"Daisy? Do you have something you want to share?" I asked, as I looked her up and down.

"Why are you shaking so bad, pet? Are you guilty of something? Or do you know something about Genesis' situation that you don't want to tell?" Levi asked her, giving her a chance to confess.

She just shook her head nervously, as she continued to shake, now almost uncontrollably.

"Nico, read her mind for me," Levi ordered his younger brother.

All Vampires have special gifts, and Levi's is to read peoples thoughts. Unfortunately, Daisy was pretty well versed at hiding her thoughts from him. But not when she's this nervous, she's way to upset to concentrate on hiding her thoughts.

Our plates were just being served, as Nico closed his eyes, and concentrated on Daisy's thoughts.

"She's known about Genesis and Ian for at least two years, but Genesis swore her to secrecy. Daisy did in fact kiss a boy, two years ago. She kissed...." he paused like he just couldn't quite grab the thought, then he finished, "Asher." He opened his eyes, and we all looked to see a fuming mad, Levi.

"What the fuck?!" Levi and Jace growled at the same time, both of them extremely pissed at poor Daisy.

She shrunk down in Levi's lap, trying to look small, as she looked at me with pleading eyes. I instantly felt sorry for her, but I was limited on what I could do for her.

"Levi, you can't very well punish her for something she did two years ago," I tried, but I could practically see the smoke coming out of his ears.

Journey was squirming uncomfortably in my lap, as she looked at me, like she wanted to leave. I can sense her emotions, and I know she's feeling sorry for her friend. She loves Daisy very much already.

"Oh yes I can. And I can punish her for not telling Jace what was going on with Genesis and that servant boy. And I want Asher gone," he practically shouted, causing more eyes to fall on us.

"Keep your voice down," I said in a low voice.

Daisy had tears in her eyes, as she looked around for some sort of escape. She had to know it was of no use to try and run. Levi would catch her in seconds, and then her punishment would be much worse.

"Levi, I need Daisy's help today, shopping for my pet. Who needs new clothes desperately. So why don't you let me take her, while you think about things, and try to calm down," I semi-ordered him. He could still tell me no, but he most likely wouldn't.

"Okay," he sighed. "I still want you to eat your breakfast, Daisy." He said, as he noticed her untouched plate. "You're gonna need some energy, if you wanna spend the day shopping."

She nodded her head, as she gave me a grateful look, and began to eat her food quietly.

Journey gave me a grateful look of her own, and turned back to her food. The one thing, I've noticed is that my pet, likes to eat, a lot.

"I still want her punished for not telling me about Genesis," Jace scoffed, annoyed that it seemed Daisy had escaped punishment.

"You can't very well blame her for keeping a promise to her friend, Jace," Nico defended. "You have kept secrets from all of us."

"He's right, Jace. And you can't force me to punish my pet for something that your pet did," Levi is usually very hard on Daisy, but this time he actually seems like he's on her side. "She will be punished later for kissing Asher, though." Never mind, guess he's still strict.

"I'm not getting rid of Asher, Levi. He's the best servant boy I've ever had. I will let you have a talk with him so that nothing like that ever happens again. But I refuse to send him away. And it apparently only happened once, two years ago. I think you should let that go," I said, wishing he had never asked Nico to read her thoughts.

"I guess you're right, father. Daisy," he started, as he turned her to face him. "If I hear of you doing anything like this ever again, I will punish you, severely. Am I understood?"

"Yes master. I was so ashamed when he kissed me that I swore it would never happen again," she stammered out, still shaking uncontrollably.

"Okay, pet. Calm down, I'm not going to punish you for this," he said, putting his hand on her back, trying to comfort her.

"Thank you master," she nodded, as she took several deep breaths, to calm herself.

"Great, then. Now that that's settled, let's go shopping," I said, as I put Journey on her feet, and stood up myself.

"Okay," Levi replied, as he put Daisy on her feet. He stood up and pulled out his wallet to hand me his credit card, then he pulled her leash from his pocket and attached it to her collar. "Here, buy her whatever she wants."

I pulled Journey's leash out of my pocket, and attached it to her collar, and then took hold of Daisy's leash.

"Let's go girls," I said, as I lead them to the front of the castle to meet, Asher. He would be our driver for the day.

I noticed that neither Asher, nor Daisy even glanced at each other. I'm guessing it really was a one time thing, by the way they're acting.

"I'm not 5 years old," Journey whined, as Daisy held up a pair of overall shorts in front of her.

"I like them, Journey," I commented, wondering if my opinion would matter on this.

Sure, I could force her to wear whatever I like, but I'm not gonna do that. I want her to be comfortable.

"You do?" She grimaced as she looked at me. "I guess I'll try them on then," she groaned, as she took them from Daisy and walked in the dressing room.

"Daisy, help!" She called from the dressing room a few minutes later.

She just chuckled, shaking her head, as she went in there to help my little pet.

"Oh my gosh. You look adorable," Daisy squealed, as she pulled Journey out to show me the overalls.

"You do look really cute, pet," I agreed, nodding my head.

She just looked down with a frown on her face, not a very happy girl right now.

"We don't have to get them, pet," I said, as I tried to hide my chuckle. She is adorable when she pouts.

"I don't want them," she poked her bottom lip out. "I'm a big girl."

"Yeah, you're a big girl alright. You wear clothes that fit 7 year olds, Journey," Daisy chuckled, angering my little pet.

"I do not," she growled, as she gave Daisy her best glare.

"Journey, stop that," I scolded. She instantly stopped, and looked at me with a hurt look on her face.

"Daisy, don't tease her about her size anymore," I said, giving her a stern look.

Sure, it's cute when she gets all mad like that, but she doesn't really need to be doing it. And she's obviously very sensitive about her size, so Daisy shouldn't be aggravating her about it.

"Hey, look Journey. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it. You're absolutely perfect," Daisy said, looking at Journey sincerely.

"It's okay," Journey chirped as she ran to her friend, and hugged her waist. "We're still friends right? You're the first friend I ever had."

"Oh of course we're still friends. We will never stop being friends, Journey."

"Okay, we can get these," Journey said, indicating the overalls.

"Oh really? Hey, how about I get a pair too, and we can wear them on the same day?" Daisy squealed, as Journey nodded her head excitedly.

With that, Journey went back in the dressing room to change back into her regular clothes, and Daisy ran off to find a pair of overalls in her size.

When they had basically bought out the whole store, we left to go to the lingerie store. I would honestly prefer to never walk in this store. But Levi requires Daisy to wear these sorts of outfits. In fact, all Vampires, with the exception of me, require their pets to flaunt around in flimsy lingerie outfits. They may never touch them, in fact, I know for a fact that Levi has never touched Daisy. But they still want them dressed this way.

"I want to get some of these clothes, master. I want to dress like the other pets," Journey said, as she looked at the racks and racks of skimpy clothing.

"Absolutely not," I said sternly, shaking my head.

"Journey," Daisy started, walking over to where she was once again, pouting. "These clothes are not for everyone. Your master doesn't like them."

I knew she was trying to skirt around having to tell her that she was too young. She's so weird about being small or young, that we don't want to constantly tell her that's the reason she can't do things.

"Okay," Journey sighed, nodding her head.

"I'll just get my clothes later on, when I shop with my master, okay?" Daisy said, trying to steer us out of the store.

"Good idea, Daisy," I nodded my head, grabbing both of their leashes.

"Are you girls hungry?" I asked, already knowing that Journey was.

"Yes master," Journey squealed, nodding her head vigorously.

"Yes sir, my King," Daisy replied, chuckling a bit at Journey's quick mood change.

We all decided on pizza, so we were standing in line when I noticed, Journey's eyes start dropping shut.

"Are you tired, Journey?" I asked, as she started wobbling a little bit on her feet.

"I'm okay," she said through a very big yawn.

"Come, pet," I said, as I reached down and lifted her in arms, holding her on my hip.

She laid her head on my shoulder, and dozed off almost immediately. Poor thing, she was exhausted.

"Alright, Daisy. Let's eat some pizza and then take my worn out pet home," I said, as we walked over to find a seat, her holding a tray with everyone's food.

"Journey, wake up and eat," I said, as I put a piece of pepperoni pizza up to her mouth.

She never opened her eyes, but her mouth dropped open, and she took a bite when I slid the pizza in.

"I don't mean to speak out of turn, my King. But I never thought I would see the day that you fed your sleepy pet in your arms," Daisy chuckled, watching us as I fed her each bite slowly.

"I don't know what it is about her, Daisy. Honestly, I think she was just made to be mine," I said, as I watched Journey swallow her last bite of pizza.

"Well she seems to trust you very much, sir. It's always important for a pet to have trust in their master. Just like my master, he's very strict with me, and sometimes it doesn't seem fair. But I trust him enough to know that whatever decisions he makes are for my best interest," she said with a smile on her face.

Sometimes I wonder about the two of them. They are extremely close, and I wonder if either of them wants to cross that line. Levi never would without her being the age of an adult, but he could always get the spell reversed and let her age a few more years, and then stop her aging again.

"I'm glad that you two have an understanding, Daisy. You have always been a good pet for my son. And I know he cares about you very much," I said, and she nodded.

As we walked back in the castle, Journey was waking up from her nap, so I set her down on her feet and let her walk to our room.

All her clothes had already been delivered to her new room, and I was about to take her in there, when Levi poked his head in my door.

"I've found Journey the perfect nanny, father," he announced, as he made his way in the room with a young looking woman.

"This is Evelyn. She's 30, past her breeding years, and she doesn't have a current assignment," he said, as he brought her in front of me.

She bowed her head politely, but didn't open her mouth to say anything.

"Journey, come," I said to my still sleepy looking pet.

She waddled over to me, and held her arms up to be picked up, so I did as she wanted.

"Evelyn, this is Journey. She's a little worn out from today's shopping trip. Journey, open your eyes and meet your new nanny." I said, as I jiggled her in my arms a little bit.

She slowly opened her eyes to look at Evelyn, and smiled sleepily. "Nice to meet you Evie," she grinned, and then laid her head back on my shoulder.

"That's a cute nickname, Journey. It's nice to meet you too," Evelyn said, as she gently touched her back.

"Would you like me to put her down for a nap, your majesty?" Evelyn asked, as she reached her hands out to take her from me.

"That's a wonderful idea. Just put her down in here though. I want her to be awake when I show her, her new room. And I'm going to do some work in my office, so if you could stay with her until she wakes up. And then bring her to my office once she's awake," I said, as I handed Journey over to her new nanny.

"Of course, my King," she nodded as she walked over, and laid her on her bed, tucking her in the covers.
