Chapter 7 - A lesson never learned

Finiding herself bound again, yet this time with much less consideration to her comfort Elena sat against cold rigid steel. Tears streamed down her face. She felt like no matter what she tried, she could never do anything right. She could never make those around her accept her for who she was. She could never trust anyone because the man she had trusted the most had lied to her for most of her life. She had tried so hard to conform herself to what they wanted her to be that she didn't even know what SHE wanted to be herself.

'I've made so many mistakes. I'm so fucking stupid.' She thought.

There were so many things that she could have done differently. She could have just played the part of the good child and done everthing that her dad asked her, But at the same time she felt that it would have been spurious of her to pretend. If only she wasn't so different than everyone else. If only she had never been born with such pale skin and such blindingly white hair. If only she had been able to lose that weight, maybe she could have made normal friends. The kids wouldn't have bullied her and maybe none of this would have happened.

"If only Mom hadn't died." she cried

This wasn't the case though unfortunately, and now that she had changed so drastically she felt like even more of a freak. She had these strange abilities and there was a strange voice in her head. She felt like she was loosing her mind. All she wanted was her dad. She didn't care anymore. She needed him to hold her and tell her that everything would be okay.

Elena sobbed silently in the warehouse. In her mind all hope was lost.

Damien Mcbride crept around the parking lot adjacent to the warehouse. With his heightened senses he could detect twenty-two life signatures on site. Two of which were guarding the entrance gate. twelve were working the dock and offloading large containers with a Hyster forklift. The other eight were working the perimeter and the inside of the perimeter respectively, four each. Three of the life signatures were much stronger than the others, though not strong enough to give Damien any apprehension to tear the place to the ground.

'Please let her be okay. i'm on my way El.' Damien thought as he cast a barrier over the facility ensuring no one escaped, and shielding mortal eyes from that which was magical in nature.

The barrier encased the entire facility and immediately alerted the enemy of his arrival. Alarms were blaring. It didn't matter to Damien though. They could alert the whole city. There were few who were his equal, and he detected nothing that threatend him.

Damien's body convulsed as his body changed forms. His legs thickened and his body grew from his usual 6'1 stature to a towering 10 foot tall giant. His face contorted and elongated to resemble that of a serpent. large membranous wings tore through what was left of his shirt. His wings unfurled and stretched.

"It's been 20 years since i've taken this form." Damien said with a deep and draconic voice.

Where Damien Mcbride once was, stood a dragon like being with crimson red scales, large red and black membranous wings, strong powerful arms and legs ending with sharp talons, and mouth full of razor sharp teeth that could rip through steel like it was paper.

Damien approached the guard shack. Each step creating a resounding thump from his 800 pound form. The two guards armed with heavy rifles saw him approaching and immediately pissed themselves with fear. One ran away as fast as he could only to find himself incapable of escaping. Damien extended his hand and released a concentrated beam of heat which immediately vaporized the man.

The other unloaded his entire magazine only to watch in horror as the bullets bounced harmlessly off Damien's skin.

"Now your death will be slow and painful!" Damien growled. "You'd have been better off running like your friend." Damien said as he manipulated energy around the man causing his internal temperature to slowly rise.

"Now pay the price." Damien rushed in hearing the man wail in agony as he melted from the inside out.

Barricades, Walls, Steel vaulted doors. They all melted and crumbled in his wake. Damien tore the armed guards to shreds. Each highly trained guard was mercilessly eviscerated, their last sight being a terrifying giant dragon with glowing yellow eyes.

"Thunder?" Elena puzzled. A lound noise had woken Elena from her stupor. she had cried herself sleep after all that she had been through.

"BOOM!" Another loud crash had startled her. She looked around the dark chamber, just as two large figures entered the room.

"Grab her Zam'ir, we don't have much time."

A large furry hand with sharp claws cut through Elena's bindings and then pulled her from the cold hard seat. "Don't try anything flashy!" Zam'ir growled "Or i'll slit your pretty little throat."

"Hurry, he's coming." the other wolf like creature snarled. "The fucking Guardian of Hesperides! Fucking hell!" The other creature moaned

"It will be fine Vaan, We'll escape. We just have to reach the barrier and..." The two creatures talking faded from Elenas ears.

Elena was thoroughly mind fucked. She was draped over the shoulder of a....Werewolf that disguised itself as a cop and kidnapped her. The two creatures had rough matte black fur, razor sharp teeth, white lifeless eyes and a guttural voice that sent shivers down her spine. Yet these creatures seemed afraid of something. She didn't want to find out what that something was though.

She activated her ability in one last ditch effort to escape. The transparent 30 second timer appeared in the corner of her eye. "LET ME GO!" Elena's voice resounded around the room.

"Shut her up, She going to give away...." Vaan was saying but was cut off as a large scaly hand pierced through the solid concrete wall and ripped him back.

The creature that Elena was now seeing made the two Werewolves look cute. It towered over the werewolves now seven foot stature. The large Dragon like being held Vaan by the neck.

"Please, Ladon. We didn't know she belonged to you!"

"Spare me the pleasantries." Ladon's hand began to heat up like a hot coil. Soon Vaan's neck and shoulders were on fire. Seconds later his head had been severed from his body. "Make sure you tell your master that i'm coming for him too." Ladon said staring into the blank eyes of Vaan.

"Brother!!!" Za'mir screamed dropping Elena and rushing at Ladon with all of his strength. But Ladon was fast, his form shifted and Elongated. He bacame a 30 foot long giant python with the head of a dragon. With a body as nimble and flexible as a snake he quickly coiled around Za'mir and began to squeeze the life out of him.

"Tell Me, Who sssent you after my daughger." Ladon hissed.

"Eat shit you worm" Za'mir growled.

"Fine, sssuit yourssself." Ladon said as he began squeezing harder. Za'mir howled and struggled. After several minutes his body had been completey crushed.

Elena lied astonished on the warehouse floor. She was sure this giant snake was about to swallow her whole.

But she had overheard the creature call her it's daughter.

Ladon turned to her and began to slither in her direction.

"Please, I don't want to die!!!!!" Elena screamed

"Your not gonna die Lil El. Ssstop freaking out." Ladon hissed as he morphed back into his human form.

Elena looked up from between her arms at the mention of her pet name that her Father always called her.

"Dad?"
