Chapter 1 - Chapter 1- Beginnings of the Survivor

Sitting in this dimly lit room was a man named Laplace. Half of his body was melted off, and both of his legs were torn off.

"Ugh where am I?" He thought to himself.

"WELCOME, welcome" A kid yelled.

"Where, am I?" He tried to say, but nothing came out of his mouth.

"OH, POP QUIZ TIME, where do you think we're at right now?"

But before he could even say anything, the kid cut off one of his fingers. A silent shriek could be heard.

"I amplified pain sensitivity so we could play together, but we don't have much time." The kid said with sad expression on his face.

"Oh uh, and don't bother trying to speak, after all, half of your body along side with your vocal cords was melted off." The kid chuckled.

"Ah then is this the afterlife?" Laplace thought to himself.

"DING DING DING, CORRECT! You sir, just won a free ticket to reincarnate at another world with your memories. In other words, AN ISEKAI!" The kid said mockingly.

"Is there an option to say n-"

"NOPE!" Saying that the kid snapped his fingers.

Laplace started to lose his consciousness, "Better entertain me now, boy." the kid said, and before long, everything was dark and quite for Laplace. Suddenly a crying child could be heard.

"Congratulations ma'am, it's a branded boy." An old woman said. "We'll be taking him to the branding room to identify his brand now, so please be patient."

'Ah, so the kid wasn't kidding when he said I was gonna get reincarnated. Guess I get to live a slow life here.' Immediately after that an loud explosion could be heard nearby.

'Well shit.' Was the first thing that came to his mind when he heard the explosion.

"Run! It's the Beast Church!", 'Oh great, religious lunatics as well, just can't get any better huh?' Laplace thought to himself. He was quite calm as if it was not the first time something like this has happened.

"OVER THERE! There's a heretic over there!" A man fully clad in a white robe yelled to his companions. "Oh deary, we need to run." A old woman said with a concerned tone.

"Shall we run deary?", 'Yes, bolt the hell out of here please.' He thought to himself with a fake enthusiastic tone.

"Now then, [Light Magic: Quick Dash]." shortly after chanting that, magic circles surrounded the old lady's feet. And in a blink of an eye they were in the room Laplace's mother was in.

"OH MY GOD MISS ABLETON, CULTISTS ARE RAIDING THE BUILDING!" A man in his mid 30's yelled.

"Oh yes deary, we just escaped from them."

"WHAT?! IS MY BOY ALRIGHT?", 'Damn this man just wouldn't shut up.' Laplace thought to himself, irritated at the fact that this man is screaming at the top of his lungs at whatever he hears or see.

"Oh yes he's quite alright. My title of battle cleric isn't just for show you know?" The old woman walked over and handed Laplace over to the middle aged man. 'Oh no please don't tell me.'.

"Now then deary, meet your father.", having said that, the old woman has confirmed Laplace's greatest fear: Having that obnoxious man as his father.

"A BRAND! THIS MUST BE A BLESSING FROM THE HEAVENS.", 'Well yes, but actually no.' that was all Laplace could think of when he heard that. "Rejoice later honey! We're in trouble right now!" Laplace's mother said.

"Oh uh yeah, the cultists and stuff, uhh, let me settle this real quick," He pulled out a small dagger from his pocket and cut his hand. Blood started pouring out of his hand. "[Blood Brand Magic: Cursed Blood]." The blood on the floor suddenly turned black and smoke started emitting from it, which was followed by screams of people.

A man in the white robe came crashing in and said "You... demons..." and collapsed on the floor, the man's body then burst into black flames. Laplace's father just looked at Laplace, smiled, and said "One day you'll be a great man like me and your mother. And by then you will be the head of the house."

But little did his father know, the following year will be filled with nothing but despair and fear.
