Chapter 23 - XXII

>>You have been exposed to Chaos Miasma<<

>>Dark Affinity counteracting Chaos<<

>>Chaos successfully extinguished<<

Kzel slowly opened his eyes. He can see a cracked ceiling and a faint light coming from a corner. When he pulled himself up to a sitting position, he heard a laughter and warily turned to its direction.

"Fascinating," A red hooded man murmured, "You have been heavily afflicted with chaos and managed to be conscious in such a short time."

Kzel slowly got up and found the other five surviving Cultists laid motionless on the floor.

"Don't worry." The hooded man assured, "They'll be conscious after a day or two. In rare occasions, maybe a week or a month."

"A-Are you one of us?" Kzel asked, his hand searched for the hilt of his sword and successfully found it.

The hooded man let out an embarassed chuckle, "I mistaken you lot as the enemy. Master Xendan specifically instructed me to finish off whatever's left of the Order."

"Did he think that we wouldn't win?" Kzel frowned. His eyes glinted of caution.

"Nah. Just a precaution." The hooded man unlocked the door and waved at him, "Come. I can see that you're a new recruit. You don't have the mark of chaos in you."

Kzel lazily got up and followed with wary steps. Upon exiting the room, they moved on to another set of doors. They stopped after reaching a red door.

"My name's Dafag. The Red Acolyte of this sect."

"Kzel." The Rzir followed Dafag into the room. He warily rolled his eyes at the blood runes etched on the floor.

Dafag started to chant and a red portal slowly came to form at the center of the room. He then turned and told Kzel, "This is the prize of entering the Chaos side. You go into that portal and Lord Calar will grant you power, accordingly."

"Accordingly?" Kzel raised a brow.

"Yes. There will be a series of tests." Dafag answered but stopped Kzel when he approached the portal, "But be careful. Some don't return."

Kzel nodded, discarding any hesitation and entered the portal. He soon found him in a dome-like structure. Kzel looked at the floor where he was standing. It was like glass and he can see the void where one can fall endlessly.

New notifications appeared in his vision.

'That's it?' Kzel stretched his arms and legs and found that his original physical prowess when he was back at Planet Heern came back. His stats were regressed to that of a normal human when he fought Naevnir and her bunch of bandits.

A sudden cackle alerted Kzel as a huge sword accelerate towards him. Its blade targetting his neck.

Kzel's leg froze like they were not his own. He was left with no choice but drew his sword and raised it up to block the incoming danger.

Shing!

The Rzir was thrown and slammed right into the walls of the dome. He spurted blood before he slid down to the ground.

'What the fuck was that?' Kzel used his sword to help him stand up.

The space infront of him suddenly became distorted and an indistinguishable face appeared.

"WELL, WELL. WHAT A VERY RARE SIGHT!" The face revealed with the voice of a thousand echoes, able to make any man mad as it directly affected the mental state of a person.

"ONE OF RZINA'S CHILDREN WHO ARE AS ELUSIVE AS SHE IS APPEARED BEFORE ME."

Kzel bumped into the wall of the dome, after unconsciously taking a step back. "Who are you? What are you?"

"YOU ENTERED MY DOMAIN AND YET YOU DO NOT KNOW WHO I AM?" The face brought out a thunderous laughter that can bring calamity to nations, "I AM CALAR, 3RD OF MY KIND."

"DID SHE SENT YOU?" The face inched closer, "IS SHE FINALLY BRINGING THE END?"

"No," Kzel started to get used from pressure the Chaos God emitted, "I-I came to join your League of Chaos"

"OH? YOU'RE HERE UNDER THE PRETENSE TO

WORK FOR ME?" The Chaos god started to murmur, "WONDERFUL. WONDERFUL."

'I came to become like your servants..like a believer.' Kzel corrected in his mind.

"IF RZINA WANTS HER CHILDREN TO MAKE MY CULT A SECRET BASE OF THEIR MYSTERIOUS OPERATIONS. SO BE IT. AS LONG AS I EARN HER FAVOR NOT HER WRATH." The face nodded to itself.

'Huh?' Kzel was in disbelief. It escalated into something else. He did not know who this Rzina is, and he is being connected to her.

"BUT FIRST, I NEED TO GIVE YOU A STRONGER MARK OF CHAOS. MY OWN MARK. I'LL MAKE IT LESS INVADING OR THE DARKNESS WITHIN YOU WILL DISCARD IT. THIS WILL ALSO ENABLE YOU TO BLEND WITH MY SERVANTS WITHOUT BEING NOTICED." The Chaos god carefully discerned how darkness manifested.

Then what seemed to be the eyes of the indistinguishable face, started to glow blood red. Kzel felt pain he had never experienced before. He dropped on his knees and howled. After minutes of anguished, the pain finally went away. He peered beneath his leather armor and into his chest then found a glowing red mark.

A chuckle escaped Kzel. However, his goal in joining the League of Chaos was to gain power. It would be a shame if he can't take advantage of his current position.

Kzel looked at the Chaos god and swallowed hard before saying, "If lord Calar would allow me to create a sect under his name, I would be able to enact Rzina's will with ease."

"I DON'T SEE ANY COMPLICATIONS WITH THAT. THE MORE DAMAGE YOU CAUSE, THE MORE HAPPY I AM. AS LONG AS IT'S NOT MY REPUTATION THAT YOU'RE DAMAGING." The Chaos god responded thoughtfully.

"For that, I need resources and the manpower from your servants. I will also need to bring some of my subordinates." Kzel did not dare ask for the Chaos Archive or it'll be very, very suspicious.

"GRANTED. AS LONG AS YOU COMPLY WHENEVER I ORDER YOU TO DO MY BIDDING. I WILL ORDER MY SERVANT XENDAN TO PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR NEEDS. BUT FIRST, I NEED TO SHOW MY DOMINANCE TO THESE OTHER CHAOS gODS!" The Chaos god disappeared, replaced by a red portal.

Kzel almost jumped in the air from joy. He had instantly achieved the first stage of his plan to power. No. That's not right. It's his wives' plan. He then slowly entered the red portal.
